Oh Boris no 🙁

OP posts:
alloutoffucks · 06/04/2020 23:00

@LEELULUMPKIN I agree. It has been a particularly tough year for the country as a whole.

Siameasy · 06/04/2020 23:02

Re Charles that is interesting about his lifestyle and comparing that with the stress Boris must’ve been under for months and months. I also assumed Charles lives quite a peaceful, outdoor life and that might’ve helped him.

OhMargo · 06/04/2020 23:02

Poor man. Doesn't matter how you think of him politically, he is a human being and shows us that this virus does not discriminate.

I was so sad the other day thinking of all those people who could not have visitors, maybe died alone and had to have a lonely funeral. Honestly who could not be touched by this.

Most of us haven't come in contact with anyone who has been ill or died of this, but our PM being so seriously ill has brought the reality home now.

I wish him all the best for a good recovery. Have to stay positive, many come out of ICU following Covid too, we have to remember that.

Doihavetogotoworkdotcom1 · 06/04/2020 23:03

Please get well Boris.

Scruffyoak · 06/04/2020 23:03

I agree end of 2019 up till now has been shitty

TealWater · 06/04/2020 23:03

It's shocking news. Best wishes to him and his family.

I did read someone say Prince Charles was able to shake off better as he isn't overweight or have the stress Boris has.

OldLace · 06/04/2020 23:04

I guess I am one of the 'I don't like him but...' people.
That's the thing - I really don't like his party politics.
I don't like his personal code of behavior either (from what I know).
So, it seems a tad hypocritical to post: 'oh, - poor Boris'

BUT, and it is a BIG but, he is a human being.
A Father, a son, a partner.
And he is the PM, so I hope he gets better for that reason too.

OhMargo · 06/04/2020 23:07

Prince Charles was just lucky to get a mild version, that's all really. It has different effects on different people. Some have no symptoms at all.

Luck of the draw.

Madhairday · 06/04/2020 23:07

I so hope Boris recovers soon, this is so awful :(

NotEverythingIsBlackandwhite · 06/04/2020 23:07

I am praying that Boris has the strength to overcome this. If his attitude to getting things done is anything to go by then he can do this.
I like his sunny disposition and feel his 'can do' attitude is what this country needs.

Who'd ever have thought a government would take the measures Boris' has to make sure most people are receiving 80% pay. He is the man we need right now to lead our country to greatness. I pray he gets the chance to continue leading us.

Come on Boris. I'm rooting for you. Your country needs you. Carrie needs you. Your unborn baby needs their dad. Your dad, Stanley, needs you. Heck, I need you to get through this.

sunnyblossom1 · 06/04/2020 23:08

Hope he’s ok.

confusedandtired99 · 06/04/2020 23:08

Best wishes to Boris. It’s very sad news

Leighhalfpennysthigh · 06/04/2020 23:09

Emergency care is always NHS. The private sector is not set up for this sort of thing

This. Off topic but I had an op in a private hospital a few years ago and collapsed on the way out (long story - kicked out too early). I was taken to an NHS hospital for proper treatment.

Thinking of Boris and his friends and family tonight. It doesn't matter what any of our politics are, tonight there's a man who is loved by his friends and family seriously ill and might not make it. We are all members of a family or a group of friends, few of us are truely alone in the world, and regardless of political opinion we should feel empathy for the people waiting desperately for news and desperate to hold the one they love again. Not just Boris, but everyone in icu tonight and every night.

littlemixarerubbish · 06/04/2020 23:09

@Tonyaster yes viral load is a thing, though I'm not sure how much it would be in this case. It's certainly why they think many young healthy healthcare workers have become seriously ill and / or died.
It was so unbelievably stupid of Boris to shake the hands of people knowingly infected. I really have no words for how irresponsible that was.

But, I really hope he pulls through and I feel so sorry for his family right now.

LINABE · 06/04/2020 23:13

@NotEverythingIsBlackandwhite
My sentiments entirely>
Come on Boris we all need you, every one of us.

halcyondays · 06/04/2020 23:17

Hope he’s ok.

Shmabel · 06/04/2020 23:20

I feel for him and his family on a human level, but even politically, despite disagreeing with him, I don't want to lose our PM.

Hoping for his recovery.

TurquoiseDress · 06/04/2020 23:21

Regardless of who he is and what he represents, he's a human being going through a totally trecherous & unpredictable illness

Wishing him a full recovery, however, the fact he is in ICU does not bode well and feels like it's like the toss of a coin whether he makes it full stop or spends weeks on there pulling through

alloutoffucks · 06/04/2020 23:22

Yes a friend who is also a qualified medic but working in research, surprised me when he chose the NHS for an operation rather than the private health care his work would pay for. He said although private is nicer in terms of rooms etc. if anything goes seriously wrong he is safer in the NHS. His operation was fine, but was at a risk of going really wrong.

Mrsmadevans · 06/04/2020 23:23

I think Boris must be on a vent. Just my gut instinct , hope they are way off beam but something is definitely not right.

catsandlavender · 06/04/2020 23:23

Come on Boris. We need him! I’m praying he pulls through. Regardless of what you think of him politically, the last thing this country needs is the instability of the PM passing away, let alone the awful impact on his loved ones.
Bless him and his family and loved ones, and those of everyone suffering from coronavirus.

starlightgazers · 06/04/2020 23:25

I think Boris must be on a vent. Just my gut instinct

That's just silly.

Of course things aren't 'right' - he's in ITU.

Mummy0ftwo12 · 06/04/2020 23:27

Did anyone else just watch Trump's address? sounds like Boris is going to be the guinea pig.

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 06/04/2020 23:28

It really goes to show how you can never say never!

Never did I think I'd be praying for Boris Johnson. But here I am.

KeysDontBelongInTheFridge · 06/04/2020 23:28

@Mummy0ftwo12 I didn’t - a guinea pig for what? Will try and read about it now.
