Wishing you well Borris Flowers

FreierFall · 06/04/2020 21:39

I've been coping ok until this. What the fucking hell is happening??? I am trapped in a fucking nightmare.

Boris....you have to pull through.Sad

thisusernameismine · 06/04/2020 21:39

Why do people have to write, ‘I don’t like him’ but I wish him well or ‘I can’t stand the man’ but I wish him well. He’s the man that has told you to stay at home and be safe, how lucky are you. Look where he is.
I hope he pulls through, his poor family. Thinking of everyone suffering with this at the moment and wishing them well

Well said!

justgivemewine · 06/04/2020 21:39

Hope he recovers and this is not as serious as it might seem

As to the posters starting with....

I really don’t like him but..........
I’d never vote Tory but........
Or similar

Seriously? Would it really be so hard to just wish him well/a recovery without having to politicise it. 🙄

SecretWitch · 06/04/2020 21:40

Hang on, Boris..we are praying you recover post haste.

Matildathehun77 · 06/04/2020 21:40

I honestly feel there will be anarchy if he dies

There won't be, it'll be very, very sad on a personal level.... a huge shock for the country and he'll make history for certain. There won't be anarchy and the country won't crumble, we have a government and systems in place. They'll carry on, they'll elect a new leader and maybe it'll make people think twice before they try to "bend" the lockdown rules because they're difficult.
I hope and pray that Boris pulls through though xx

justgivemewine · 06/04/2020 21:41

Lol cross post thisuser

Glad it’s not just me

EightNineTen · 06/04/2020 21:41

I meant that because he's the prime minister he'll have access to more

I think it's very naive to believe that there's a magical "more".

Raffathebear · 06/04/2020 21:41

I have a really bad feeling about this Sad

MelbaToast · 06/04/2020 21:41

It sounds like he must have been close to needing a ventilator. They wouldn't have moved him solely as a precautionary measure if he was doing okay. I think you need to look at the whole situation. The NHS doesn't take people in just for observation at the moment. You have to be really sick to get a bed in a hospital. To get a bed in ICU you have to be even sicker. No doubt that he is really unwell and will be out of action for the foreseeable future at the very least. On the bright side, there are still more people that come out of ICU than not and he's still youngish and heslthy (except for a bit of extra body fat).

I hope he pulls through

PinkSparkleUnicorns · 06/04/2020 21:44

I imagine the pm is having private healthcare, not NHS? So different measures to send to ICU could apply?

TeddyIsaHe · 06/04/2020 21:44

No I take that back. I’m LOTS of gin deep and that was such an unnecessary and gross thing to say. Eurgh at me

TeddyIsaHe go and read the post above by MNHQ and get yourself some basic human decency while you're at it.

Snowflakes1122 · 06/04/2020 21:45

I’m really concerned for him. It’s just not looking good at all Sad

hopeishere · 06/04/2020 21:46

@PinkSparkleUnicorns he's in a public hospital not a private one.

jimmyhill · 06/04/2020 21:46

One's thoughts have to be with his girlfriend, and his wife

LEELULUMPKIN · 06/04/2020 21:46

TeddyIsaHe. You know what they say, that the real person comes out after a drink. Too late.

PicsInRed · 06/04/2020 21:46

I would imagine that some posters feel they may come across hypocritically - if they've made their political feelings known about him previously - which is why they preface their best wishes. However I do believe that they find themselves genuinely stunned, shocked and upset to see him this way and that they do wish him the best. Politics is a strange beast.

PipGirl404 No. The criteria for level 3 critical care remains the same regardless of who you are. Thomases has several HDUs for those needing more than ward level care. You don’t get an ITU space just for oxygen. ITU is not a good environment for those able to cope with a lower level of care. Thomases has about 45 ITU beds usually and offers intensive care including ECMO.
He won’t necessarily have a single room because you need space around beds in case of emergency and for equipment. No option for a big team of people around him anymore than any other patient. ITU is a great equaliser.
People aren’t left to recover in intensive care. As soon as well enough he’d be moved to the private wing, I’m sure.
