@pinkoneblueone your oxygen looks good on that.

Remember to make sure your finger is not really cold before you put it in or readings will be low. I tuck my fingers away for a few minutes before checking and I also do sudoku or something on my phone before and during taking the reading as know panic will alter the stats.

If it's ok I then put the damm thing away so I don't get obsessed with it.

It's obvious but high stress levels are really not helpful to your immune system so don't watch any news and distract, distract, distract.

And remember we are all where we are right now, worrying won't help at all, all we can do is try to stack the odds in our favour.

That said I had a period around days 7-17 where I was just in a complete panic as have various underlying conditions. Xx

@sambucus i am also taking paracetamol religiously every 6 hours. Do you know if it's safe to take paracetamol like this for literally forever? I wonder when I can stop it. I am overall feeling a lot stronger than 3-4 days ago and so feeling hopefully that i am moving in the right direction. The fever is debilitating physically and mentally but i am trying to accept that it won't go away instantly and just need to get on with it.

user34254356 · 06/04/2020 11:06

@tangledyarn i am so glad you spoke to the GP and got some reassurance. Hope the bloods come back quickly and you can avoid going to hospital for them.

Marmie4 · 06/04/2020 11:06

My symptoms are like none I have ever experienced before. Started feeling unwell about 2 weeks ago, not sleeping, shivers, aches, severe headache.I got a strange chemical smell in my nose and then lack of smell or taste followed (still can't smell anything). I then had a tickly throat, felt irritated but unable to clear. I now have a cough, slight shortness of breath and dizziness. I don't think I have had a temperature, unsure though as I don't have a thermometer. I'm really up and down, feel better, start doing things around the house and then feel wiped out. Plan is just to rest for the next few days.

stayathomegardener · 06/04/2020 11:07

@pinkoneblueone look at the video I posted yesterday about caring for someone with Covid.

Right at the end is a checklist of stats and It flags up levels for secondary infection requiring further assistance.

I found it very reassuring.

Tangledyarn · 06/04/2020 11:10

@pinkoneblueone Yeah sats are good. Mine is about 94% and 80 bpm, gp said totally fine unless i start spending much time in the 80s but I'm not worried about that happening now as I've been Ill for so long. Need to continue with increased inhalers and antibiotics although I dont think I have a secondary infection I'm still breathless and a bit wheezy and have chest pain so I might as well. Just want to be able to get out of bed for more than 5 mins without feeling like I'm going to be sick and pass out.

pinkoneblueone · 06/04/2020 11:13

The whole thing sucks. My anxiety is making this so much worse for me. I really just want to be better

Tangledyarn · 06/04/2020 11:19

@pinkoneblueone I know it's truly dreadful.Flowers Am very anxious too, not about getting worse but just about staying like this forever. Can you manage to distract yourself with anything..its the only thing that seems to help me a bit.

Casino218 · 06/04/2020 11:19

Day 28 and I've been for a long walk with dog with a big uphill part at the end. Breathing laboured on that part but checked my sats when I got home and they said 96% so it's more a feeling that anything problematic.

pinkoneblueone · 06/04/2020 11:23

I’m the same I am day 28, too yesterday I felt amazing and did chores and cut the grass and then didn’t sleep and had flutters in my lungs again and then an asthma attack. This whole thing sucks. I am nervous about taking antibiotics but think I should to see if it does help.

stayathomegardener · 06/04/2020 11:25

That sounds very much like post viral fatigue @Tangledyarn

stayathomegardener · 06/04/2020 11:27

@Casino218 that sounds very positive.

I do wish we had information from China on long term recovery patterns.

Tangledyarn · 06/04/2020 11:30

@stayathomegardener That's my worse fear. If I've got PVF on top of all the other chronic stuff I've already got wrong with me I'll lose my job.

Lovelesslily · 06/04/2020 11:33

Morning all.
Burning stopped quite quickly last night and managed to drop off back to sleep. Meant I missed the time to call my GP but I'm not feeling too bad so will see how I go go today and call tomorrow if needed.

I still feel hot to touch but my thermometer tells me I am on 37C so no temp. I have started to get painful ears and throat so feeling like secondary infection number 2 might be setting in... I am very prone to ear infections so it feels like this virus goes for your weak spots and causes them to flare up :(

mumlurker · 06/04/2020 11:36

Day 24 here.

I feel a lot more 'normal' today. Still breathless when I move about so taking it very easy.

Does anyone know how a virus can make you feel breathless even though your oxygen levels are normal? That's what I don't understand. Definitely the most frightening aspect of this whole thing for me.

GrapefruitsAreNotTheOnlyFruit · 06/04/2020 11:38

@Sambucus Day25 and still running a fever in the afternoons and evenings of about 37.8. Sweated buckets last night as well and had chest pain. Waiting for a call back from the GP.

GrapefruitsAreNotTheOnlyFruit · 06/04/2020 11:41

I really thought a couple of days ago I was feeling better but sadly not. The fever has never gone for a whole 24 hour period throughout.

AnythingPecan · 06/04/2020 11:44

@mumlurker I'm in the same position as you - breathing exercises all fine. Can do the Roth test with no trouble... but feel at times by breathing seems affected. When I'm being kept busy and not focussing on it it appears to improve. As soon as I give it some attention it resumes. Also noticed when hubby switches on the news and I walk into the sitting room I start noticing it more. I think with me it's definitely psychosomatic.

Porcupineinwaiting · 06/04/2020 11:46

@mumslurkerI am not a doctor. But my understanding is that the virus irritates and inflames the lung tissue which may be what gives the breathless feeling.

Sambucus · 06/04/2020 11:47

@GrapefruitsAreNotTheOnlyFruit Oh I’m sorry you’re no better too. Your fever pattern sounds just like mine - tends to peak at around 4pm. Let us know if your GP has any wise words or insights.

AnythingPecan · 06/04/2020 11:48

@Porcupineinwaiting that makes sense. Maybe that's what it is!
I usually drink ginger and turmeric tea and that usually settles those sensations. Maybe not psychosomatic after all!

longshot · 06/04/2020 11:48

Day 27 here. I have felt good this morning. Energy levels ok, generally more like myself BUT now have the sore ribs, back pain and a pain under my left ribs inside. Maybe it’s around my spleen area. It’s weird. Have slapped on some ibuprofen gel stuff and am resting now.

I’ve homeschooled my 5 year old all morning, for dressed, washed up and cooked breakfast so I guess ‘I’ve done a lot’ but felt ok other than now the pains.

I am in two minds whether to bother a Dr or not. I keep wondering if something else is going on as have so many aches and pain in my back and chest area but my breathing is ok so what would they even do?!

DD is not great today, very lethargic, in bed again watching iPad, poor thing.

JackJackIncredible · 06/04/2020 11:50

@pinkoneblueone

Hope your sats are reassuring you a little. Breathlessness is scary. Flowers ideal range is 94% upwards but most hospitals aren’t admitting people unless you’re consistently below 90%. I’m bouncing around 88-90% at rest and coping.

I know it’s easy for me to say because I have a chronic respiratory condition and this isn’t new to me but I wanted to reassure you and let you know you’re not alone.

My PM box always open if you want a friendly ear. Be kind to yourself. Be patient with yourself. You’re doing a good job at coping and I believe you can get through this.

JackJackIncredible · 06/04/2020 11:51

For anyone who needs this today xx

pinkoneblueone · 06/04/2020 11:54

Thank you, I am currently awaiting a doctor call back as I was given diazepam a couple of weeks ago and didn’t pick it up but it has been collected with my other prescriptions so I am going to see if I can take it to ease things
