@pinkoneblueone could a neighbour perhaps pick some up for you from the supermarket? We are a taking 1g tablets from Tesco.

Tangledyarn · 08/04/2020 10:41

@AnythingPecan I was told anything in the 80s O2 wise for a prolonged period (at rest) I hovered around 94 for about 10 days and they seemed happy with that.

pinkoneblueone · 08/04/2020 10:42

I will see what I can do we are all sick here so I think we need something although I am taking a lot already to try and ease things

musicposy · 08/04/2020 10:44

FabulouslyElegantTits (love your name, btw!) I think others describing symptoms has helped me enormously - it’s just made me feel so much less alone. Hearing what doctors have advised for others has been amazingly helpful too - I wouldn’t be on antibiotics without this thread and they’ve helped me turn a corner.

For you I’d say - don’t overdo it! I felt much better days 15-21, did way too much and crashed horribly with a possible secondary infection. I think it’s taking me much longer now than it would have done. Rest, rest and rest some more!

Spacecadetagain · 08/04/2020 10:47

@musicposy I agree.. It helps me to see other people’s experiences and also I wouldn’t have called my go and got antibiotics without this thread . I think I overdid it too tbh and paid the price with a total relapse (or secondary infection )

LetsBeSensible · 08/04/2020 11:01

Day 21, slept well, a good10-11 hours. I smell gross, have been sweating a lot overnight clearly Envy - not envy
Still knackered and full of muscle pain now, which is what I was expecting after a few days of jelly legs. Feel like I’ve been hit by a truck.
My “list of activities” per day in order of importance is
1 wash myself
2 wash my dishes
3 wash my clothes
Anything past that is a bonus.

Tangledyarn · 08/04/2020 11:09

@letsbesensible Eugh yeah I smell gross when I wake up..so much night sweating. Keep making the bloke change my bed every other day.

musicposy · 08/04/2020 11:17

letsbesensible can relate!
Today I’ve managed 1 wash myself and 3 wash my clothes, which is a huge win for me. DH is doing 2 wash dishes and can keep that job for now.
For days over the weekend I didn’t have the energy for either. I stank and my hair was hanging down in greasy rats tails Envy. I knew I was improving when I had a “what would a paramedic think” moment!

Spacecadetagain · 08/04/2020 11:18

@LetsBeSensible I seem to sweat like mad in the night .. I realised I still had my 15 tog winter duvet on so I’ve just ordered a lighter one as I’m sure that’s probably not been helping .
Dd is going to be ten in a week ., she is really stressed about how ill I am and worried I’ll be in hospital for her birthday

BlackNoir · 08/04/2020 11:22

Hi, I'm a on day 3.

Started with a big barking cough out of nowhere. Raging temperature. Felt as though I had a kidney infection and tonsillitis and flu.
Yesterday was a better day until the evening when I began to feel the affects.

Today I have an upset tummy and feel generally blah so have come back to bed for a bit. Not much of a temp. Kidney infection feeling seems to be abating slightly and I'm peeing better.

Lungs burning, shoulderblades hurting. Occasional heartburn feeling.

Knackered and aching.

musicposy · 08/04/2020 11:26

Spacecadetagain it’s so hard on them. Mine are young adults, stuck elsewhere (DD2 in uni digs - she couldn’t come back before lockdown as I was already unwell) and they’ve been desperately worried. It’s hard to reassure them over messages and I’ve been too exhausted and breathless to FaceTime for long. Even harder for your DD when she’s only just coming up to ten as they are so reliant on you at that age and it’s harder for them to have a full grasp of the nuances of the situation. Keep reassuring her that, as you’re day 26, even though you might feel really rubbish for a bit, you’re unlikely to end up in hospital. Hopefully by her birthday you’ll be getting back on your feet again Flowers

onlinelinda · 08/04/2020 11:31

@MilesJuppIsMyBitch yes of course you can. I know it's scary when you ha e other health issues, especially respiratory. Lots of us have found this thread a support. How many days do you suspect you have had it? Ha e you called your doctor at all? You will get to speak with then if you have underlying issues.

Which report are you referring to?

Lovelesslily · 08/04/2020 11:38

Day 18 and after waking up feeling good am now feverish again. Burning up/hot back and chest and sweating but my thermometer has me at 37.3. I don't know if its reliable, it's not an ear one as they had all sold out, just under the tongue.
Chest also feels a bit worse, did the Queens breathing exercise (which hurts!) and now laying in my front waiting to see if paracetemol helps...

So fed up on day 18. I had hoped to go for a short walk by the river opposite my house but seems unlikely now :(

Littleninja1 · 08/04/2020 11:48

@longshot that's the one. It really hurts doesn't it!

Spoke to GP again. He is sending me something to monitor my oxygen and organising a video call later to test it with me. Really pleased I can have something concrete to confirm if I'm getting enough oxygen.

You're right - they probably won't want to hear without tests. But then the only people tested are very serious cases or are abroad and not as appealing to UK press. I'm not suggesting I want to feature. But I would like awareness raised.

I never post on Facebook but wrote a long post the other day describing my symptoms and learning and tips if others have similar. I've had nothing but positive feedback and friends seem really grateful to hear first hand what it's like.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 08/04/2020 11:58

Thanks onlinelinda Smile

I'll have to check which report it was when I get my phone back from DD (she's WhatsApping currently :) ).

I've been in contact with the GP a fair bit. I'm on my second consecutive round of ABs, as they think I have a bacterial element as well.

I know that I said to DH that I'd caught whatever the kids have had about 10/11 days ago, but the lung pain only started yesterday. I've been hospitalised with chest sepsis before, and have never had lung pain.

I don't actually feel too bad, just petrified.

Virtual Wine for us all (as I think I should stay off the real stuff).

Meercatmama · 08/04/2020 12:04

Hi day 24 woke up again feeling tired and with a headache Husband on Day 10 he is tired with the pains in the chest but also still burping at times. I just want to feel normal and to cap it all the washing machine drum has dropped so banging a lot with spinning. I can get one delivered but can't get the old one out of the house and the new one into to house Oh well have to do hand washing and just don't have the energy. Feeling really down.

Spacecadetagain · 08/04/2020 12:12

@musicposy oh bless them that is hard . It doesn’t matter how old they are they are always our babies . I’ve got grown up dcs too 19.26 and 28 . We are all trying to keep in touch and My two grown up sons called My dd and had a long chat with her the other day which really boosted her mood

WorriesomeDad · 08/04/2020 12:13

Hi everyone, keep fighting the good fight. Quick question, does anyone feel that the deep part of your throat behind your tonsils (nasopharanx) is inflamed or irritated? Particularly those of you at 20 days plus? It’s one symptom I’ve had on and off throughout and it’s just not going.

Tangledyarn · 08/04/2020 12:39

@worriesomedad Yeah I've felt like I've had a throat infection for the whole time..I dont have any tonsils though, its weirdly better or worse depending on how Ill I'm feeling but still there on day 33.

JackJackIncredible · 08/04/2020 12:40

@Taffyapple8

You need to drink loads and loads of water with that headache. Honestly, it does help.

LetsBeSensible · 08/04/2020 12:41

@blacknoir sorry you may have had to join the gang by the sounds of it

Hello to anyone who has admitted to being a honking stink bag in the morning!! I always think it’s doing me good to sweat it out but that’s just an opinion of mine that I tell myself

Swings and roundabouts for having people around at home, who are worried/you can’t “see” properly, but can help vs being alone like myself, no help but no-one to offend with my stinkyness!

user34254356 · 08/04/2020 12:46

Yes please drink loads of water. I drank less yesterday and can feel after effects today.

Anyone in day 20sthg who is still breathless. I felt I had turned the corner but today on day 22 feel very breathless again. Looking for reassurance that it may come back but will go away again and that this isn't some sort of relapse.

user34254356 · 08/04/2020 12:47

@emichel02 i have the same sensations as night where i can sense everything in my body.

JustBreatheLxs · 08/04/2020 12:53

Please please please be careful with nebulisers.

Only use them in a room with the door closed, window open and nobody else should go in that room for at least an hour.

I’m under one of the best respiratory hospitals in the country and this was their advice.

I use nebulised medication daily and following COVID symptoms, sought advice because I was worried about my family. Using a nebuliser with COVID puts others you live with at risk and massively increases the viral load.

user34254356 · 08/04/2020 12:55

@tangledyarn how are you doing now? Is the breathlessness better? Did you manage to do the blood tests?
