Still no sleep. Have a horrific pain over my right eye and my forehead hurts to touch. Anyone else suffered with this?

Littleninja1 · 08/04/2020 03:11

Sorry you are feeling so unwell Taffy. Yes I had forehead pain sometimes. I suspect it is sinus pain as I believe they affect that area. Are you taking paracetamol?

Taffyapple8 · 08/04/2020 03:17

Yes, nothing touches it. It's awful.

Littleninja1 · 08/04/2020 03:18

It is. And yes the paracetamol often doesn't help . Hope you get some sleep.

Taffyapple8 · 08/04/2020 03:26

I wonder if antibiotics would do anything? Feels like all my sinuses are inflamed

Taffyapple8 · 08/04/2020 03:29

@Littleninja1 where are you in the covid roller-coaster? Are you better?

UncomfortableBadger · 08/04/2020 03:31

@Taffyapple8 I had that randomly on day 9 - paracetamol didn’t help but Otrivine nasal spray did, specifically the purple one for sinusitis. Otherwise, steaming using a bowl of hot water and a towel or by sitting in a very hot shower room would also do the trick.

Taffyapple8 · 08/04/2020 03:41

Thank you. I'm also on day 9.It seems to be attacking all my sinuses but particularly on the right hand side. I will try the steam method in the morning x

UncomfortableBadger · 08/04/2020 03:46

@Taffyapple8 I have every sympathy - it‘s an unrelenting, hideous pain. You can also try a warm flannel over the offending area, or if you can bear it, there are several videos on YouTube about massage to relieve sinus pain. I also found that hot drinks helped to shift the gunk around my face.

UncomfortableBadger · 08/04/2020 03:47

@Taffyapple8 ...and if it’s any help, I’m now day 13 and feeling quite a lot better than I did. Day 9 was really rough but day 10 seems to have been my turning point.

Taffyapple8 · 08/04/2020 03:50

4am googling is never good... I've got a pain at the base of my skull (right hand side) which can also be attributed to sinuses. Now I've read how infections here can travel to the brain etc. Marvellous...

Taffyapple8 · 08/04/2020 03:51

@UncomfortableBadger you've given me hope. Day 9 has been horrific x

pinkoneblueone · 08/04/2020 04:15

Day 30, I can’t sleep, my body keeps waking me up, I’ve already had one all nighter this week and am so tired. I had a Kalms night last night and got 4 hrs, tried them again tonight and I think I must have had about 30mins. I imagine this won’t be helping me get better as I have a sore throat, back and chest today. I tried the queens breathing last night and think I have aggravated my symptoms with it. I have another two hours until I can take my paracetamol to keep the 6 hours gap. This sucks. I just want to feel better now.

DandyPeguin · 08/04/2020 05:10

Hi, I can’t sleep, can’t get comfortable. I’ve been on these threads since the beginning but haven’t posted on this one before. I thought I was getting better.

But it’s Day 21 And this last week has been the worst out of the three, especially the past few days. I slept most of Insta and yesterday and now can’t.

My chest feels really tight and constricted and heavy.

I was so hoping to be over this now. Hope everyone else that I’ve chatted to on these threads is doing ok - and everyone else of course. Flowers

Tangledyarn · 08/04/2020 05:59

@dandypenquin Sorry you are feeling poorly again. The up and down ness as you get better is very familiar! I think it's very normal with this virus, everyone is saying they have much better and then worse days..I just keep telling myself that every day is still a day towards better even if it's an awful one! My theory is because it's a totally new virus that our immune system hasn't met before its easy for our body to feel overwhelmed with it..even when it's on it's way out (but theres no actual science there just my stupid thoughts!) x

Mammaaof · 08/04/2020 06:01

Hi not sure if anyone is awake I'm a bit scared. 3 days ago I developed pain under my right rib cage, I thought it was my gallbladder playing up again. After that I've had really bad pains in my back all day, but tonight I've woken up and had shooting pains through my chest and a my chest is a little tight. I am so worried this is that start 😣

DandyPeguin · 08/04/2020 06:08

@Tangledyarn not stupid thoughts at all, that’s a good thought. It IS damn weird isn’t it. I just thought by Day 21... It’s the complete exhaustion that’s doing me in. I can’t concentrate on much right now and feel quite down. I think you’re further ahead than me IIRC. What day for you?
I’m thinking about asking the GP about antibiotics today.

@Mammaaof it’s hard to say if that’s Covid without other standard symptoms like a cough, fever, shortness of breasts, headache etc.

Tangledyarn · 08/04/2020 06:10

@Littleninja1 I know I think the way it's been handled here is dreadful and just increases anxiety for us middle ground people. Theres no info about what it will be like to recover if you have been quite unwell, had breathing difficulties etc but stayed at home. I think if there was it would really help, imagine the burden on 111 and gps in a few weeks when everyone is where we are at and still feel awful.

My GP has said that whilst he doesnt know we need to think about it like the worst flu ever and that it would be normal in that case for it to take many weeks to recover...but yeah with the breathlessness and chest pain it's hard.. I do panic at times and think its not normal to feel like this after 5 weeks. I had a really bad episode earlier after doing the washing up and was really stressed that I'm still struggling to do stuff like that and still stuck in bed most of the day as just feel so rubbish.
Am definitely doing too much news reading in the day, it's hard when you cant do much else, but am trying to listen to audiobooks and do mindfulness as well. All not good for sorting the sleep out though as obviously not good to be in bed all day, I'm just telling myself I'll try when I'm feeling a bit better! Hope you managed to get a few hours in Flowers

Tangledyarn · 08/04/2020 06:16

@Dandypenquin Yeah I've been really struggling to manage my mood, the fatigue and brain fog is awful and I have cfs so am pretty familiar with all of that. I'm finding it very hard to think straight or concentrate on anything and still having to spend most of the day in bed else other symptoms seem to really ramp up. Think its day 33 today. I got some antibiotics at the end of last week so have a couple of days left of them. Not sure if they are helping but it definitely worth a conversation with your gp if you think they might Flowers

DandyPeguin · 08/04/2020 06:22

Thanks Tangled. I relate to everything you write to @Littleninja1 as well as her posts too. Whoever said the media & govt seem to give the impression that recovery is either 7 days or weeks in ICU is bang on.

I’m worried about permanent lung damage, a start would be knowing if I/we actually have lung damage!

Mammaaof · 08/04/2020 06:24

Just sore throat and aching all over. even more worried tho as my mother in law has tested positive (NHS worker) and I had contact with her just before lockdown began but did all the right things 2 metre rule, just had to drop off medication to her Sad

Tangledyarn · 08/04/2020 06:43

@mammaaof I know it's hard but try to relax, even if it is CV chances are you'll be fine, by boyfriend just had a really bad cough for a couple of weeks and a temp one night, but in a normal situation he probably would have gone to work, so it's not always awful.
Anxiety makes it all so much worse, I know it's hard but try to limit the news to once a day and distract yourself as much as possible, even when we have really bad symptoms the less we can focus on them the better as anxiety makes everything respiratory based feel much worse. Try and get some rest and drink lots of fluids Flowers

Tangledyarn · 08/04/2020 06:47

@DandyPeguin I know, it's so hard not knowing isn't it..I'd love to have a good look at my lungs and see what's going on in there! I still think its early days for us to worry about any permanent damage though, I think we are still well within the realms of being able to get back to where we were before it just might take some time. But I do get it..its frightening isn't it not knowing. Hope you can get an early morning snooze in Flowers

Mammaaof · 08/04/2020 06:47

@Tangledyarn thank you for taking the time to reply, I think your definitely right about anxiety making things worse, I'm almost looking for another symptom now, hopefully these pains will pass and just be one of them things X

Tangledyarn · 08/04/2020 06:52

@mammaaoof Fingers crossed! But even if you do get some symptoms try not to panic. Loads of us here have been in the panic zone so lots of support and although you might end up unwell remember most people recover quickly. Unfortunately we are all v likely to get CV at somepoint whether it's now or in a years time Flowers
