Day 8 - feeling so much better but still just resting. I feel such a fraud but then I get up and move around and I get the shakes again.

UncomfortableBadger · 07/04/2020 12:50

@Taffyapple8 Don’t fret - I weirdly had a dry cough for the first time on day 9 which stopped by day 10. Day 12 now and feeling decidedly more human than previously, although still not quite right.

The symptoms seem to change daily - it’s like a really crap version of bingo. Had sinus pain for the first time yesterday (day 11) and my hair is now falling out. So bloody weird!

MayDayHelp · 07/04/2020 13:22

I’m currently lounging on my front in the garden, I bought this sun lounger on eBay which has a face hole. Got it a couple of weeks ago before I had any symptoms and had no idea that soon lying on my front would be so important! I promise I’m not the seller, just thought might be useful to anyone else with symptoms.

WorriesomeDad · 07/04/2020 13:26

Hi folks, There is light at the end of the tunnel. Hang in there. After a rough 3 weeks with a wide range of symptoms I’m finally starting to feel better. Reading this thread over that time it has been reassuring that I have been far from going through this alone. I do have a quick question for anyone a bit further down the line than me though. My oxygen SATS are good and my pulse rate has settled down a lot the last few days. The one thing that does linger though is a sensation of being ever so slightly out of breath the whole time even though the rest of me now feels relatively ok apart from tired. I’m fine to walk up and down stairs and briskly pushing a buggy so can’t be too bad, but this sensation is often still there even at rest despite regular breathing exercises etc. Anyone else around this timeframe in the same boat? Finding it a bit unnerving. I’m guessing if I’ve had a mild case of pneumonia it’s just going to take a bit of time to shift.

WorriesomeDad · 07/04/2020 13:31

@mymoonmyman2020 yes, it drove me absolutely nuts for about three days (15 to 18ish) but since then it hasn’t come back.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 07/04/2020 13:32

Really helpful conversations with 111 and GP this morning. I called them as have new excruciating pain on upper back LHS and same place at the front IYSWIM. Have now been prescribed steroids, antibiotics to kick this into touch hopefully. I have asthma so doc said my lungs are just struggling to cope (yep I can vouch for that).
I worry that some people are slipping through nets - not getting/being helped early enough Sad

longshot · 07/04/2020 13:32

@worriesomedad yes I have it still I think but am not exerting myself to bring it on much if that makes sense. I went for a walk yesterday and a bit was uphill, quite steep and I was definitely more out of breath than I would normally be. I am really pretty fit so this is unusual but I can now run up the stairs and if I had tried to do that 2 weeks ago I think I would have died! It just seems I am more out of puff but not dangerously so. I hope it will come back to normal over the next couple of weeks and I’m not going to push it.

longshot · 07/04/2020 13:34

@AvonCallingBarksdale what day are you on? I also have the back pain but it comes and goes. I can’t decide whether to take the antibiotics as not sure if it’s just muscular / residual inflammation rather than infection (day 28). How do we know?!

EMichel102 · 07/04/2020 13:34

@worriesomedad great to hear you’re feeling better these days. I’m also at 3ish weeks (day 22) and feel the same in terms of slightly out of breath and tired. I’m particularly tired though where I can feel my body being a bit shaky / struggling with normal activities. And feel a need to lie down. I imagine we’re still a week or so away from feeling better on these fronts but who knows!

NotEverythingIsBlackandwhite · 07/04/2020 13:37

Better to be safe than sorry. Please just take them.

AnythingPecan · 07/04/2020 13:40

@NotEverythingIsBlackandwhite same. Neighbour kindly picked up my antibiotics from the pharmacy and I'm sitting there staring at them thinking the same?!?

MrsLeclerc · 07/04/2020 13:54

Day 16 here. DH is working so I’m looking after DS (19 months) and bloody exhausted. My chest and back feel so heavy that I can feel myself slumping forward when I move around. I wish the deep burning feeling would go, it’s so uncomfortable.

I’ve been doing the chest clearing thing from the video. I think it’s loosened something as I’ve been coughing through the day which I hadn’t been doing previously.

onlinelinda · 07/04/2020 13:54

@worriesomedad same here. Day 23. It's just early days.

NotEverythingIsBlackandwhite · 07/04/2020 13:55

@TheDrsWife46

also I’ve been left feeling like Im not very worthy of my life.
Of course you are worthy. I don't have CV but I look at this thread a couple of times a day to see how everyone is doing and hope they are all recovering well and, I don't know why, but I am particularly rooting for you to get better.

Friends have scoffed me, they think Im lacking in positivity and so just not getting better to their annoyance. And lots of comments about my life like how I try too hard at trying to be a “supermum”.
Friends like this aren't worth having. Just mute them all. You don't need them to spout that kind of rubbish right now. It can sometimes be very hard to stay positive and you have gone through an awful lot already. You don't sound to me like a generally negative person - just someone having a really hard time at the mo. There's nothing wrong with being the best mum you can be either. CV is definitely showing people's true colours.

As a PP stated, this too shall pass. Hang in in there OP.

NotEverythingIsBlackandwhite · 07/04/2020 13:58

@AnythingPecan

same. Neighbour kindly picked up my antibiotics from the pharmacy and I'm sitting there staring at them thinking the same?!?
Why are you thinking about it? Is it that you think they won't do anything?

AvonCallingBarksdale · 07/04/2020 14:00

@longshot - I’m not as far in as many on here, I’m on day 10. I feel like something had shifted up a gear so am definitely going to be taking them as well as the steroids.

AnythingPecan · 07/04/2020 14:01

@NotEverythingIsBlackandwhite I suppose I'm worried about taking them if I'm not sure it's bacterial further weakening my immune system

NotEverythingIsBlackandwhite · 07/04/2020 14:02

@AnythingPecan
If there is any possibility of infection, just take the antibiotics and give yourself a better fighting chance of getting rid of this or recovering faster. Please.

EMichel102 · 07/04/2020 14:05

@Needsomegoodnews are you still super fatigued on day 22 like me? I’m starting to irrationally worry about at what stage is it just normal and will improve vs becoming ME / CFS? I can be up and about more around the house than before but then feel the need to lie down (but not sleep). Also bit dizzy / lightheaded still with some mild on/off headache.

user34254356 · 07/04/2020 14:16

@EMichel102 i am day 21 and still the same. Can get around and do some stuff and then feel the need to sit down / lie down to get my energy back. I am less breathless but definitely can't run up and down the stairs like longshot. I also have mild headaches and aches and pains every where.

However i am definitely doing a lot more than I was before.

EMichel102 · 07/04/2020 14:25

@user34254356 sounds exactly like where I’m at - thank you. Had a moment of frustration and panic by how slow the recovery is!

TheDrsWife46 · 07/04/2020 14:32

@NotEverythingIsBlackandwhite thankyou so much for that. Flowers

Just for clarity I’m now on day 25 and annoyingly I thought I’d turned a corner just before the weekend and that the overwhelming tiredness was down to fatigue from the virus .. I thought some gentle activity would help but it seems it’s the worst thing I could have done 🙁 my face is really painful today and when I bend over to steam it feels like I’ve got concrete in my sinuses

mymoonmyman2020 · 07/04/2020 14:41

Thanks everyone for your replies about the chest flutters. What a strange (and unnerving) symptom...

@WorriesomeDad I am day 15 exactly! How weird..

Meercatmama · 07/04/2020 14:49

Hi day 23 for me and having started to take the antibiotics I feel better. However my husband is on day 9 and up until last night did not feel that unwell he then got the temperatures and found his chest was tightening, He had a bloated feeling and was burping a lot and felt vey constipated. This went on all night and eventually I called 111 for advice as yesterday we received the letter telling us he had to isolated for 12 weeks as he was vulnerable. He takes a drug for his psoriatic arthritis that he injects every two weeks Funny but he was due to take the drug last Thursday but did not as he felt unwell. They were brilliant and the doctor told him that it seemed that his body was coping ok at the moment and to keep on taking the paracetamol . Have got through to now with him sitting on the couch with just gradual tightening's of his chest. He has managed to eat some toast and a sandwich and he has finally been to the toilet. So hoping we are on the right track but so worried as I was up all night with him and he did get very anxious Its harder watching someone else than having it myself
