Does anyone know how his health is and how he’s doing?

Is this the same Boris who told us in all solemness that some of us would lose our loved ones too soon but to just deal with it? That Boris?

DarnedSocks · 05/04/2020 21:53

I think he should "just take it on the chin" like he wanted us plebs to
Well that's just it. He did. He wasn't a hypocrite. Stupid, yes.

derxa · 05/04/2020 21:53

I hope he's Ok. Sad news.

WhatTiggersDoBest · 05/04/2020 21:57

Really hope he's okay and that his fiancee and unborn baby are being looked after by someone.

TheLadyAnneNeville · 05/04/2020 21:58

He did say I think we need to just take it on the chin. I think his condition may be quite serious. But we, the general public always the last to know what’s REALLY going on.

Defenbaker · 05/04/2020 21:58

Oh, this is worrying news. I had hoped he was quietly resting and recovering, and would bounce back into public life tomorrow. I really hope he makes a full recovery soon.

His fiancee and family must be worried sick. Get well soon Boris.

TheLadyAnneNeville · 05/04/2020 21:58

I do hope we hear good news for him, though.

user127819 · 05/04/2020 21:58

@BumpADump
He is probably having chest scans to diagnose pneumonia.

I fear you may be right, but maybe that's just my anxiety making me fear the worst. The next few hours could be critical for him.

Thinkinghappythoughts · 05/04/2020 22:05

He is a gambler who has taken a punt with the health of the citizens of this country. It's personally backfired.

No he hasn't, some people have little understanding of this world wide pandemic and how in the back scenes are scientists and experts scrambling for solutions.

You are so bitter in your partisan echo chamber that you highlight how really uneducated the electorate really is.

He ignored the advice that the experts gave him to give out (shaking hands, lack of social distancing). And yes, he is a political gambler. Check out brexit, the prorogation of parliament and the election. Some gambles he has won and some he hasn't.

Herd immunity is a huge gamble. HUGE. Because they don't know enough about this virus to predict the outcomes. Therefore a gamble. And the way the government has handled matters is not great. He personally is now suffering the consequences.

By the way the government initiatially relied on mathematically modellers and behavioural scienctists more than the biologists as the experts. Expert advice is always viewed through a political prism in its implementation.

Some of electorate don't look deeply and prefer to use soundbites....

Besom · 05/04/2020 22:10

I don't like the man as a politician but I genuinely feel worried about him now. I hope he recovers quickly.

AnyFucker · 05/04/2020 22:12

I feel worried for the country, tbh

Bouncingbomb · 05/04/2020 22:18

I don’t wish him or anyone else anything but a speedy recovery but his words many more families are going to lose loved ones before their time and the fact that the government he leads only locked us down after doing a U turn because of public opinion means that I will save my concern for my dear former nurse friend who is spending her fourth night in ICU.

colouringinpro · 05/04/2020 22:20

I think his approach to Corona has been appalling. As has been the Tories starving of the NHS.

But I hope he recovers for the sake of the UK population.

Merryoldgoat · 05/04/2020 22:24

They wouldn't have taken him in - particularly at the moment - unless absolutely necessary. I think this is being downplayed.

100% this imho.

lljkk · 05/04/2020 22:28

Agree with others that he must be quite ill. Probably not ICU ill, but he's in the 20% of severe cases. Hopefully not in the 2% or so of very severe patients that go to critical care.

I'm NOT hoping BJ gets the worst outcome, but omg, if he did... The fate of Brexit, Tories etc. I thought we might well lose a national treasure like Attenborough, but didn't expect a senior politician could go down. I wonder if compliance with lockdown will improve after this news, at least.

EightNineTen · 05/04/2020 22:30

This really brings home the seriousness of the situation. There's as much they can do for the PM as they can do for anyone else, ie not very much, so it's a case of waiting for him to either recover or not.

Iamtryingtobenicehere · 05/04/2020 22:33

Last I heard he was hospitalised. It’s not great,

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 05/04/2020 22:43

For years governments have starved the NHS.. Not just the tories either.

If they aren’t looked after once this is all over, then it never will be.

But for some, sadly, all the money in the world won’t save them.

GirlsInGreen · 05/04/2020 22:44

Surely they would have oxygen as standard at Downing Street. Absolutely wish the man a good recovery - but it seems clear he needs intensivist help.

turnthebiglightoff · 05/04/2020 22:51

He's a person, with a pregnant fiancé and a family. Don't kill him off and dont hope he's a martyr. Some replies I've seen on here are horrific. Hang your heads in shame.

I voted Corbyn before you start

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 05/04/2020 22:53

Sorry for your friend @Bouncingbomb Flowers. Hope she makes a turn around and recovers soon.

SouthWestmom · 05/04/2020 22:53

This is the statement.

On the advice of his doctor, the Prime Minister has tonight been admitted to hospital for tests.
This is a precautionary step, as the Prime Minister continues to have persistent symptoms of coronavirus ten days after testing positive for the virus.
The Prime Minister thanks NHS staff for all of their incredible hard work and urges the public to continue to follow the Government’s advice to stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives.

YgritteSnow · 05/04/2020 22:56

I am very fearful for the country if our PM dies. I have tried to stay positive over this past month but this has genuinely frightened me this evening. We needed to know that someone was in charge even if we didn't like everything they were doing. I hope he's ok, I think we need him to be.

NameChangedToProtect1 · 05/04/2020 22:56

He is a a lier, cheat and general sleaszeball... medically no idea!
