Does anyone know how his health is and how he’s doing?

OP posts:

I'm no fan of the guy but I really hope this doesn't end up being the ultimate 'I told you so '. 😳😳😳 And wish him a speedy recovery, the same I would for anybody else.

Also feeling sorry for his poor partner, it will be a.very scary time for anyone.

LuluJakey1 · 05/04/2020 21:38

I hope they will continue to put Hancock up front rather than Raab. Raab is a cold fish. Hancock has learned a lot in a short time.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 05/04/2020 21:39

Really hope he is ok

SouthWestmom · 05/04/2020 21:39

I think it's entirely possible the PM would be admitted without it being an emergency . If he is still unwell (lots of people have said it goes on) and not getting better surely best to already be in hospital if he gets to crisis point?

covetingthepreciousthings · 05/04/2020 21:40

Seems like they are downplaying it by describing it as 'precautionary' when they are admitting him at 9pm on a Sunday night.

This. Unfortunately.
Hope he recovers soon.

refraction · 05/04/2020 21:41

Poor Boris.

Also wondering about Chris whitty.

Where is the nearest NHS hospital?

tobee · 05/04/2020 21:41

They apparently admitted him earlier this evening. Not 9pm

DeRigueurMortis · 05/04/2020 21:44
  • There are no "precautionary" admissions to hospital for Covid-19

If he is an inpatient he is seriously ill*

This. To be fair as pp's have said he looked very poorly.

As much as I'm not a fan of his politics or moral standards I hope he gets better.

Horsemad · 05/04/2020 21:44

Is it the Chelsea & Westminster @refraction?

refraction · 05/04/2020 21:45

I am not sure Horsemad.

allthesharks · 05/04/2020 21:46

As someone else said, going to hospital on a Sunday evening does make you think it's a bit more than precautionary. I can't remember if it was on here, or on an article, but it said it was on the advice of his doctor. Again, why would you be seeing your doctor on a Sunday evening unless you were very concerned. I think if this had happened tomorrow daytime we would maybe draw a different conclusion.

BumpADump · 05/04/2020 21:46

precautionary rather than emergency

Bullshit. You do not go near a hospital unless it's an emergency right now. Tests would be done at home.

VivaLeBeaver · 05/04/2020 21:48

Yes, they’d get the doctors to him (less risk) if it was just ongoing symptoms.

AnyFucker · 05/04/2020 21:48

I would still think the same thing if he was admitted to hospital at 10am Monday morning

No one no one is staying in hospital that is not dangerously ill

Rosebel · 05/04/2020 21:48

I dislike Boris but really hope he gets through this, bit worrying he's in hospital. I hope it is a precaution and they're not playing his symptoms down. I hope his partner and baby are okay too.

CommunistLegoBloc · 05/04/2020 21:49

'Tests' and 'precautionary' are buzz words to downplay the situation - perfectly pitched PR language.

He needs more intensive support, clearly. He'd have a doctor on hand to provide any other treatment whilst self-isolating. They know what they diagnosis is, so no need for diagnostic tests etc...

SouthWestmom · 05/04/2020 21:49

Like an xray? I doubt Downing Street has one.
I just don't see the need to catastrophise before we have to

Teddypops · 05/04/2020 21:50

I cannot imagine that someone with a job as stressful as his would have normal blood pressure. Surely stress is the biggest factor?

Changednamesorry · 05/04/2020 21:50

I'm no Tory but I wish him well, poor man

Casino218 · 05/04/2020 21:50

I speculated this am that Boris was more susceptible because I felt he may be quite atopic - his pale complexion, blonde hair. It seems I may be have been correct.

WoollyMollyMonkey · 05/04/2020 21:50

I think he should “just take it on the chin” like he wanted us plebs to.

Medievalist · 05/04/2020 21:50

Hancock has learned a lot in a short time.

I agree. He's so much more confident than he was just a couple of weeks ago.

DarnedSocks · 05/04/2020 21:51

How much power does our prime minister have? He didn't make any decisions alone. He'd have to have backing and support from his party, and particularly the cabinet. We're not the same as North Korea. I'd say Jeremy Hunt is as much if not more to blame for the state of the NHS including the lack of PPE, as are May, Cameron, Osborne, and Clegg. Blair and Brown too with the disastrous PFI. Boris fucked up a bit but he's fucked himself up too. I bet Blair and Osborne aren't in their London homes.

I hope Boris recovers, as I do for anyone who gets this.

OldUnit · 05/04/2020 21:52

Chest X-rays can't be done at home.

I think it could be precautionary, given the man is running the country (not that in my opinion his life is more valuable in particular than anyone else's).

That said, to have to announce it 1hour after the Queen's speech suggests a necessity rather than timed announcement.

BishopBrennansArse · 05/04/2020 21:52

They wouldn't have taken him in - particularly at the moment - unless absolutely necessary. I think this is being downplayed.
