Just that.

I've googled and found nothing.

Hope he's ok

He strikes me as a lovely, normal man, suddenly thrust into the limelight and now facing this awful illness.

Wishing you a speedy recovery Chris Whitty.

I have a lot of respect for him and his scientific counterpart.

I truly hope that once we are out of this crisis, there is a lot less tolerance of stupid, nasty, shallow people who go in for this, and a general shift in values towards respecting integrity, wisdom, knowledge, moral fibre and kindness.

If not, let’s nuke the bastards. 🤣

LIZS · 02/04/2020 17:59

He was shown on the virtual Cobr meeting two days ago. Hopefully he emerge before too long.

ToTheDoctors · 02/04/2020 17:59

I was just thinking that today. He seems a lovely man. Really hope he is okay

PolloDePrimavera · 02/04/2020 18:01

Agree re Jenny Harries, she seems very competent and capable.

Marieo · 02/04/2020 18:02

Hope he is going okay, people are really cruel on social media. No surprise there I guess unfortunately :(

NoImNotEntertained · 02/04/2020 18:03

He's the very epitome of unflappable whenever I've seen him. Never seems to dodge the question and speaks with compassion and clarity.

I'm with you @Hopeisnotastrategy !! Grin

WhiteChocTwix · 02/04/2020 18:03

I find him very reassuring. I have often wished that he was in charge rather than Boris

^This! Also hope he's well and back soon.

whitedogpoo · 02/04/2020 18:14

Jenny Harries was in favour of herd immunity and keeping the schools open. The exact opposite of competent. @pollodeprimavera @rc22

AgeLikeWine · 02/04/2020 18:17

I noticed he was on the cabinet conference call picture which was released the other day. Get well soon, Chris. We need you. Smile

MarshaBradyo · 02/04/2020 18:18

He is one of the good ones. Liked him from the start.

Chloemol · 02/04/2020 18:20

@whitedogpoo at least she seems to have changed her mind. I have a lot of respect for her, she seems to tell it how it is

Janaih · 02/04/2020 18:22

Hope he is ok and gets a knighthood when this is all over. And a house made of diamonds. Which he will decline because he's so cool and humble.

ilovemydogandMrObama · 02/04/2020 18:23

Oh no - haven't seen anything negative about him on social media. I think he's great

Bluewavescrashing · 02/04/2020 18:24

I like him. He seems like the voice of reason amongst the chaos.

I was wondering that too, he seems such a knowledgeable, sensible & reassuring voice in all this madness.

As for those trolling him, I'm sure they don't have fraction of his intelligence, says it all really if they are focusing on his appearance etc

NemophilistRebel · 02/04/2020 18:27

He doesn’t have family as far as what’s available about him online

I’m so sad at the way he’s been trolled

I have the utmost respect for what he’s doing for us all

Hope he’s ok

Em308 · 02/04/2020 18:27

#bekind didn't last long, did it?!

Noworrieshere · 02/04/2020 18:27

I am slightly in love with the Scottish equivalent Jason Leitch. Calm, rational sensible advice. I feel better with him on our team.

Insaneinthemembury · 02/04/2020 18:27

I listened to a documentary about him on radio 4 and he is incredibly well regarded and superbly qualified for his current role, we're lucky to have him. I hope he is well and then people trolling him feel ashamed of themselves
Bet some of them were in the 'be kind' brigade recently.

MarshaBradyo · 02/04/2020 18:29

Really horrible he’s been attacked on SM
Hope he doesn’t waste his time even reading any of it

reasonswhyimdifferent · 02/04/2020 18:32

I totally agree he’s just the sort of person we need at the head of all of this.

Scruffyoak · 02/04/2020 18:33

I was very impressed with him. I hope he is ok.

tegucigalpa13 · 02/04/2020 18:35

He has been tweeting regularly

mac12 · 02/04/2020 18:35

I sometimes think I live in a parallel universe. I would never troll or be nasty to people but I think our CMO, CSO & their deputies have done this country a terrible disservice. Jenny Harries’S comments re large public events were either entirely incompetent or deliberately misleading. In her position, watching people become sick & infect others as a result of my advice, I would resign. Even people with letters after their names or who make you think of a mum Hmm get things wrong. In this case, they have recklessly gambled the health of a nation & its economy on a foolish & entirely wrong model. I am so angry.
