I’ve had my daughter prosthetic leg appointment cancelled until further notice. I understand that there are more urgent appointments but I’m still really still really upset that her leg is now hurting and she won’t be able to walk soon.

Not a cancellation as such, but have a gynae appt on the 2 week pathway, which they've asked me if I'd be happy to have a telephone consultation. Fine by me, and better than a cancellation.

LargeGinOnTap · 02/04/2020 11:09

Physio appointment
MRI scan
Annual check up will be postponed

Megan2018 · 02/04/2020 11:15

I was recently diagnosed with overactive thyroid, meant to be having monthly blood test and referral to endocrinologist.

Not the end if the world yet but I am concerned I could become ill and have a baby to look after.

thesunisoutout · 02/04/2020 11:22

@TwistyHair Im an SLT.

thesunisoutout · 02/04/2020 11:22

But I work in the hospital.

Butterbeeeen · 02/04/2020 11:23

My hysterectomy has been cancelled. I'm only mid 30s but have ridiculous periods that are heavy and last forever. I'm worried about becoming anemic. The only thing that got me through my last period was knowing it would be my last and now it's not. Feel very sorry for myself.

Kuponut · 02/04/2020 11:24

@thesunisoutout wanna do my phonetics assignment for me? :D (SALT student)

SinkGirl · 02/04/2020 11:24

Also, not medical, but ECHP review to include special needs school admission in September on hold.

My twins EHCPs were finalised in December - LA offered places at a specialist school from September but we don’t feel they can meet needs wanted a different school who could take them from Easter. Now locked in legal battle with LA, waiting on tribunal date which feels rather pointless given the Covid legislation renders EHCPs meaningless. I’m gutted at the timing.

Cornettoninja · 02/04/2020 11:31

@nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut - ah thanks for the correction. I’m definitely trying to do the opposite!

thesunisoutout · 02/04/2020 11:31

@Kuponut 😂😂 you probably know more about it than me! I've worked with adults for 10 years!

MrsWolf2 · 02/04/2020 11:42

Dermatologist appointment for a weird painful red rash on my hands. It wasn’t even on the NHS, but the private consultant has been called back to help the NHS full time.

Physio for back pain

Dentist check up.

I noticed a lump when I last checked my breasts a couple of weeks ago, thought it might be due to ovulation and planned to check again after a week to see if it had gone. I still haven’t, I’m too scared in case it’s still there and then I need a breast clinic appointment but cant get one.

nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut · 02/04/2020 11:48

@Cornettoninja if it had been a DH I'd have taken your word for it 😂 My DP is doing my bloody head in.

squashyhat · 02/04/2020 11:52

Dental checkup and retinal scan because of a drug I am on for rheumatoid arthritis. I'm not too worried about that as I've been on it for many years and never had any problems. I'm having physio for back pain and the last two sessions have been via Zoom and worked surprisingly well. Waiting to see whether I can still get regular blood tests for liver damage - again associated with my RA.

elizabethrose · 02/04/2020 11:52

My B12 and I'm desperate for it 😢

LooQoo · 02/04/2020 11:58

That’s sad about your daughter’s leg. If she won’t be able to walk soon, surely it should be classed as essential.

Mine are a filling (for me), hoping it doesn’t end up being a huge filling if this goes on too long, as I’m a bit of a wuss at the dentist. A smear (also me), I’m classed as high risk due to previous issues so have them every 12 months, some ongoing appointments for DD as she has a slightly curved spine and she’s being monitored in case she needs treatment and finally shoulder surgery for DP.

All of ours can wait a few months but some may start causing issues if it’s much longer than that.

Roomba · 02/04/2020 11:59

I've had an ear op cancelled (had already been postponed twice by the hospital). So I'm resigned to being very deaf for another few months now. Not the end of the world, I know, but still very frustrating.

TotorosFurryBehind · 02/04/2020 12:13

Referral to perinatal mental health team for ongoing postnatal depression cancelled. They did a 5 minute phone assessment and as I didn't happen to be actively suicidal at that point (but have been recently) I was not considered urgent and discharged from service.

I wonder if the number of suicides from postnatal depression will rise while this is ongoing.

Tulipstulips · 02/04/2020 13:43

@elizabethrose, ask your surgery whether they’re willing to let you inject yourself - mine said I can do that next time.

Also it might be worth pointing out to them that the RCGP’s guidelines during CoViD19 recommend continuing B12 injections if they have staff a capacity to do this.

Ilovemyhairbeingstroked · 02/04/2020 13:49

ENT appointment, but I can cope and my sons filling at the dentist . Fortunately it’s not causing any discomfort.

user1477391263 · 02/04/2020 13:59

I wonder whether childhood vaccination rates will fall due to all the stress and disuprtion (I know people are being told to go in and have them done, but....)

NemophilistRebel · 02/04/2020 14:02

I think th eh may do but hopefully people who delay them due to the pandemic will catch up on them 🤞🏻

ZeldaPrincessOfHyrule · 02/04/2020 14:50

Eye appointment at the hospital to check my retinal tear isn't worsening. I bloody hope not, because if it is and my retina detaches that's really not good...

EC22 · 02/04/2020 14:51

I was meant to get a coil instituted in May.

Adelais · 02/04/2020 15:19

My 6 weeks postnatal and newborn checks were cancelled and the 8 week jabs were rescheduled but hopefully still going ahead but we will see.
