@MangoesAreMyFavourite I’m sorry. It’s horrible and I know day 7 is a bad bit from memory.

user34254356 · 05/04/2020 17:04

@findingschools4myboys yes please do update on the antibody test.

@ofwarren i feel wallowing alone in bed makes me worse mentally, so good on you that you went downstairs. Amazon deliveries are taking so much longer. Could your local pharmacy deliver it to you if you explain that you are isolating?

@longshot sorry to hear that you still have aches and pains. Please do get antibiotics from your GP tomorrow, if nothing else it may act as a placebo.

@user34254356 good to hear from you and sounds like a positive day all things considered! I’ve been struggling today with some dizziness / lightheadedness and a bit of nausea (which might be related to GERD / heartburn). I think one of my ears is a bit clogged with fluid so that might be causing it and I just have to wait it out I think. But it’s really frustrating as it’s not even related to the direct virus!

ofwarren · 05/04/2020 17:12

@Coleoptera
It certainly sounds like CV to me
Because you are past the 14 days, you could certainly try and talk to your GP? They should let you as you are not presenting with a cough or temperature which would trigger the receptionist to tell you to ring 111.
I only had the slightest of coughs and never had a temperature and my GP says he's almost certain it's CV.

Porcupineinwaiting · 05/04/2020 17:20

@Coleoptera well you certainly sound like you've got what we've all got, whatever it is. Dont try and "push through it" - rest, fluids and as much food as you can manage.

EMichel102 · 05/04/2020 17:29

@coleoptera fully agree with the others. I also don’t have much of a fever anymore and never really had a cough except a couple days I coughed a few times. The nausea might be related to heartburn / GERD FYI which I learned today from a dr, which you can get from lying down so much and the other symptoms. So I’m waiting on some Nexium to be delivered by Amazon tomorrow which will hopefully help. In the meantime chewing on gaviscon before bed.

TheletterZ · 05/04/2020 17:33

Just though I would give a positive update. About day 17 and feeling so much better. Up, showered and dressed. I even took the dog for a short walk.

Totally knackered now but a big step forward and feeling a lot more positive.

Bringringbring12 · 05/04/2020 17:35

So sorry to ask rather than go through the thread searching for an answer

The cough. Did it come on suddenly or creep up? I am not a “cougher”
But I have found myself coughing sporadically today.

It’s mild and not persistent.

LarkDescending · 05/04/2020 17:49

@Bringringbring12 - the symptoms seem to present differently in different people.

In my case I went to bed on Sun 15th with a splitting headache only.

Woke on Mon 16th with a temp of 38.7 and coughing so hard I vomited as soon as I got up.

Since then the cough has been intermittent. Three weeks on it still comes and goes and I feel wheezy if I exert myself.

Taffyapple8 · 05/04/2020 17:49

Mangoes, I'm the exact same and also on day 7. I've been crying this afternoon as I'm so miserable but compared to so many on this thread, I'm early days. Do you have any other symptoms? I've had the fever almost constantly today and also a headache. This is a nightmare. I just got up and took a little walk around and I felt breathless. I'm not sure if that is the virus, lack of food or anxiety.

Lovelesslily · 05/04/2020 17:51

@Bringringbring12 I have only ever had what I'd call a mild and sporadic cough, never persistent.

Day 15 for me ... pains in chest and upper back but not as severe as before, feeling more like pulled muscle kind of pain. Also brand new symptom today of dizziness and vertigo. I've seen some mention it here but hadn't experienced it so far. Feeling a bit of brain fog as well, just feel a bit disorientated generally.

Thinking I may call GP tomorrow to see if they think I may need more antibiotics. It's impossible to say now whether these symptoms are due to lingering kidney infection or the original virus ! :(

Kitcat122 · 05/04/2020 18:03

Hi, I'm new.
Day 22
First 5 days I was achey, freezing cold, temp 37.5 and burning lungs like I'd been for a run in the cold. Sob going upstairs and talking too much.
Day 6 woke up great - chest clear feeling great. Next day burning aching chest back. The next week bad chest, short of breath intermittent aching and chills. One day shortness of breath when relaxing and felt I wasn't getting enough oxygen. Since last week generally feel OK just my chest aching and burning. Shortness of breath was better. Stupidly went for a long walk yesterday and half way home (up hill🙄) felt my chest and breathing getting worse and worse. Today feel I've gone back a week. So glad to have found this chat as was getting very worried about what was wrong with me. Feel abit better I'm not the only one. Not that I wish this on anyone 👃

Bringringbring12 · 05/04/2020 18:07

Thank you for clarity
I’m confident that it’s not a symptom as otherwise feel fine and it’s only been a dozen coughs over course of days. Probably wouldn’t have noticed if wasn’t for current situation

All the best to those suffering

Keepdistance · 05/04/2020 18:19

Those with ear symptoms I find yawning with bottom has forward helps to clear esrs. Make sure you are getting enough water.

Keepdistance · 05/04/2020 18:19

WorriesomeDad · 05/04/2020 18:20

@Coleoptera yep, very similar timeline to mine I’m on Day 18 ish and really hope it packs in soon. Hope you feel better soon too.

Bringringbring12 · 05/04/2020 18:29

I really shouldn’t have joined this thread! It’s like a vicious circle

My last question - did anyone get extreme thirst before symptoms hit? Last 24 hours I can’t describe my need for water

mumlurker · 05/04/2020 18:31

Day 23 here. Second day in a row where I feel like I'm improving. My temperature still shoots up at the slightest change in temperature, but I managed to go outside today (unthinkable only two days ago). Had to sleep for three hours afterwards and lungs were burning but didn't feel actively bad. Still a bit breathless but not too noticeable. Here's hoping it's not a false dawn...

Meercatmama · 05/04/2020 18:39

Hi Day 21 for me Had some temps during the night but the cough I had yesterday much less. Managed to do some f things today but this afternoon had to stop because of chest pains, Husband on day 7 with shortness of breath and he has had stomach pains , lots of wind and burping Gaviscon has really helped him. We are just doing what is necessary and leaving the rest as who is going to see it . Look after yourselves I found drinking loads of water and resting (sleeping) is the best thing to do plus paracetamol when necessary and keeping of the news.

Porcupineinwaiting · 05/04/2020 18:58

@Bringringbring12 not before but since I got ill, yes constant thirst. Now it wears off on my good days but it is certainly a feature of my bad ones.

TheDrsWife46 · 05/04/2020 19:05

@Coleoptera it sounds really similiar to me. I havent had the cough, literally a day or twonof mild cough, but I had a really painful throat and stinging in my lungs like breathing in after menthol. My temp only rocketed to “fever” on the first day but all the other days I think im on day 13, its the chills, shakes, tremors in my limbs etc that I haven’t coped with.

I’m afraid you’re stuck on the same bench as us saying “if this wasnt ‘it’ what the hell was it?!”

And the frustration for us all on here is that there seems to be no anecdotal evidence from anyone that has been floored for weeks although I did post a youtube video of a guy who had emerged after 12 days having been floored by it.

oncemorewithfeeling99 · 05/04/2020 19:05

Regarding CFS. I think this virus must put people at high risk of post viral fatigue. Not sure when that becomes CFS but maybe some links?

I’ve also had the virus ‘open up’ old wounds so to speak. Not literally but broken bones from my childhood are aching as if I’d done them a month ago.

Definitely something especially nasty about this virus beyond the obvious awful respiratory dangers.

tootsey · 05/04/2020 19:08

Dipping in and out of these threads. Has anyone managed to get tested with the symptoms on here? I am on day 25 I think and 2nd day of amoxicillin. The burning has all but gone in just over 24 hours. I am still really tired, and heart is still fluttering and pronounced. Dp informed me by phone that a relative was to by ambulance to hospital with the same symptoms, severe short of breath, burning chest tired and weak, sweating. Was confirmed as a chest infection, given antibiotics and are totally well again after a few days. I don't know what to think anymore.

TheWooisStrong · 05/04/2020 19:16

Day 24/25

There is hope everyone. I’ve got horrible side effects from the antibiotics I’m on, but just a lingering rattly cough otherwise. I hate the feeling of breathing in and mucus making me wheeze. Hopefully it will slowly improve.

Still quite fatigued, did a lot of sitting in the garden in the sunshine today.

It’s a miserable germ, but we’ll all get over it. This time next month things will be different.
