New thread for us

OP posts:
stayathomegardener · 04/04/2020 19:04

User i definitely found high dose vitamin c to bowel tolerance (basically diarrhoea) shifted the returning symptoms.

EMichel102 · 04/04/2020 19:12

@findingschools4myboys sounds like great progress though!!! Sounds like a relatively normal day which is wonderful. I’m also totally knackered after just doing a little bit more today but onwards and upwards!

Nightwriter2017 · 04/04/2020 19:14

Hi all. Just wondering if anyone else has felt like they have recovered and then a few days later got symptoms again?
I was feeling fine for about 5 days and then yesterday back to exhausted, painful sinuses etc. Anyone else?

Zzzexhaustedzzz · 04/04/2020 19:14

@Porcupineinwaiting I was prescribed them by a locum. He probably made a mistake. Also he didn’t explain what to expect or that I would definitely need antibiotics on the ready. I have only ever had seasonal asthma 2+ years ago and controlled by blue inhaler mostly. The steroids did open my airways though.

ofwarren · 04/04/2020 19:18

@findingschools4myboys
You did great today! You are making good leaps forward.
Try not to be upset that you got tired, you are doing brilliantly.

WorriesomeDad · 04/04/2020 19:22

Hi folks, day 17 (I think) here. Have been lurking for a while, found it really reassuring to know I’m not experiencing all these crazy symptoms alone. @EMichel102 how often do you get the internal ‘buzzing’ and has it receded yet? It’s driving me absolutely nuts. Had it for several hours over the past day or two, along with irregular/fast heartbeat . Horrible feeling. Anyone else?!

KinderWild · 04/04/2020 19:22

Day 39-ish

I woke this morning and actually for the first time in weeks, felt better. I still have some achy chest pains, a slight lumpy throat, and a small cough. But something just seems to have clicked and I feel more like me again. I'm writing this not saying it, so hoping it doesn't jinx me.

I went out in the garden and planted up some strawberry plants and picked my son up. Couldn't have imagined doing that 4 days ago.

Thank you so much for this thread. I don't know how I would have got through the last few weeks without you all. It has made the world of difference.

I really hope everyone is well again very soon. And I hope it's okay to check back in and offer support for people still going through it.

@sunshineskies I really hope your BIL is okay. Xxx

findingschools4myboys · 04/04/2020 19:28

@EMichel102 @ofwarren
I hope this is a sign of it getting better but this is the worst heaviness I have had all week so far 🙁 I really don’t understand what is causing it. It’s a very strange feeling.

EMichel102 · 04/04/2020 19:32

@WorriesomeDad the buzzing is the worst. I get it on and off in the evening from 5ish when my body is getting tired And telling me to rest. I also have had it some mornings as well when I’m still exhausted from not having enough restful sleep (I’m usually waking up every hour or 2 for some reason). I think it’ll calm down though soon.

ofwarren · 04/04/2020 19:37

Brilliant news @KinderWild!
I love reading posts from people who have come out the other side of this.

MrsLeclerc · 04/04/2020 19:41

Felt loads better today although extremely fatigued. Halfway through dinner I had heartburn. After eating suddenly felt sick and churning stomach. Thought DH had given me food poisoning but everyone else is fine. Now thinking it’s a Covid symptom?

So exhausted had to lie down in bed. Feel shaky, nauseous and weak.

Casino218 · 04/04/2020 19:41

@kinderwild day 26 and there is hope for me yet. Thank you x

Sunshineskies · 04/04/2020 19:43

Thanks so much for the advice and good wishes for my BIL.
My sister had some advice from a nurse family friend on how to care for and monitor him so they’re staying put at home for now. Apparently the local hospital is not a good place to be at the moment.
Will let you know how they get on.
Really appreciate everyone on these threads reporting their own symptoms. Reading them has really helped me to know what’s potentially to come for a couple of family members who are going through it and I feel better prepared if I’m to get it too.
Wishing you all quick recoveries.

user34254356 · 04/04/2020 19:54

@kinderwild so lovely to hear your update and that there is hope after a number of weeks for us to come out on the other side.

Paleninteresting · 04/04/2020 19:55

@ofwarren thanks
My daughter age 11 has had mild symptoms over the past 6 days. Yesterday was day 1 for me.
Day 1 4pm metallic taste, shivers over my head, headache, heavy chest and shortness of breath
Day 2 persistent cough on waking, headache, shivers running over my body. .5 increase in temp. Telephone consultation with Dr on 111- likely Cv-19. Felt better after a sleep. Just after 4pm headache, persistent cough (three episodes in one hour) chest and breathing symptoms returned.

user34254356 · 04/04/2020 19:55

@Sunshineskies - yes what i have heard is that if you can stay put then it's best to stay home rather than go to the hospital. It's terrible as under normal circumstances cases like your BIL would require being admitted to the hospital. I hope he turns a corner soon.

Paleninteresting · 04/04/2020 19:56

I’m isolating in bed as we have asthmatics in the house.

TheDrsWife46 · 04/04/2020 20:11

So angry at myself because i felt good all day and I allowed myself to believe that I was through it and now i ate a meal, waves of nausea and prickly shaking over my legs. Im trying not to cry.

I feel consumed by this. Infecected and contaminated and abandoned by medicine. Where is the pathways for those who have been affected to study the affects and impacts of what it is doing to us long term.

I am very very upset tonight that this has happened to me. I feel like ive experienced a “trauma” that I cant shake. I truly dont think im going to emerge from this as the same person

Taffyapple8 · 04/04/2020 20:23

I too was feeling better and then this afternoon I've felt horrendous. Can't get fever down, prickly legs, sore chest and awful headache. Admittedly I'm only on day 6 but I felt so much better this morning. It really is draining and upsetting. People isolating and posting pics of baking with their kids and doing lovely things is getting me so emotional. I've hardly seen my kids since Monday. This is hard.

JackJackIncredible · 04/04/2020 20:31

Day 23 (I think)
On antibiotics for secondary bacterial infection
Fever around 38.3
Oxygen mostly 90-91%
Dropping to low 80s when I walk to the toilet and had such a crap night, oxygen dropped to mid 76% for 10 minutes or so. Nearly went to A&E but I rallied a bit.
I rattle when I breathe.

Drinking loads of fluids helps for sure.

I’m used to respiratory stuff but this is brutal.

Paleninteresting · 04/04/2020 20:33

@TheDrsWife46 the C-19 symptom tracker by Kings College and collaborative partners may be somewhere useful. There is a space to add anything you think is important in addition to your physical symptoms.

Pokemontrainer · 04/04/2020 20:35

doctorswife i can understand it is so traumatic Thanks

Tangledyarn · 04/04/2020 20:39

@TheDrsWife46 I feel exactly the same, utterly beside myself this evening, I just cant believe I feel so unwell again on day 30 it feels totally unmanageable and I just cant see an end in sight anymore.

WorriesomeDad · 04/04/2020 20:46

Cheers @EMichel102, reassuring to know it isn’t just me! I find it really unnerving.

@JackJackIncredible sending you virus busting vibes. Hang in there.

Howmanysleepsnow · 04/04/2020 21:12

Hi,
This seems the best place to ask: how have everyone’s sats been? At what point is hospital likely? Immunosuppressed DH is on day 7 and seems to be dipping again after a better day yesterday.
