I only went on to pay my account and the message says closed

Don't blame themes it seems staff have requested closure, they have listened

hope it doesn't leave them into administration when we are through this though.

Exactly welsh -wtf says omg next is closed-overpriced crap

SummersMahoosiveClipOnFringe · 26/03/2020 22:19

Are they cancelling all pending orders or are they gong to fulfil those?

MiracletoCome · 26/03/2020 22:21

I guess we will find out when we can access our accounts at 3 pm tomorrow

Hugglespuffed · 26/03/2020 22:21

I have to admit I ordered two tops today from next, I didn't really think and of course they should shut up shop to protect their staff.

It says that 1 will be delivered on Saturday and the other within 14 days.

I will not mind when they come, they can wait until the end of all of this.

For some reason in my mind I felt I was supporting them and hoped they may have a safe way of people working but of course this was a stupid thing for me to think.
I can't do anything about it now. Time will tell if they arrive.

DenimDrift · 26/03/2020 22:22

@GabsAlot no not massively worried, but at 6 foot tall tesco/asda/sainsburys women clothes look like i'm wearing toddlers clothes

its a real issue for some people

fortunately my work uniform is in good enough condition, and i'm working full time with overtime at the moment so wearing clothes isn't frequent

Aren't online supermarkets able to send baby clothes? As to gift cards, they'll still be valid when Next reopens.

StripyHorse · 26/03/2020 22:37

Good on you Next!
Clothes and Cushions vs Corona. No contest!

Nonicknamesleft · 26/03/2020 22:37

Also ebay...

SummersMahoosiveClipOnFringe · 26/03/2020 22:37

I actually need new clothes as I have lost 2 stone in weight so picked up a few things in their sale.

Are they gradually winding down or have they abruptly stopped?

StripyHorse · 26/03/2020 22:40

DenimDrift.

I was initially puzzled.... you are working overtime so not wearing clothes?!

I then reread it and saw that you have a work uniform. Blush

maggiecate · 26/03/2020 22:40

TK Max have closed their website down (they were quick to close their stores too)., I’d imagine a few others probably will as well now. I suppose Mike Ashley will keep House of Fraser etc up and running until someone disconnects their server.

NemophilistRebel · 26/03/2020 22:41

Train spotting - some of us are shielding and can’t get to a supermarket to buy food let alone baby clothes

Whatsnewpussyhat · 26/03/2020 22:43

The 'my account' coming back online will be so payments can be made. Maybe able to cancel orders too. I ordered some bits in the sale last Thursday. Doubt they will arrive now though.
I thought it was odd they had reduced all sale to 70% and free delivery. Desperate to shift stuff.
They did send an email saying if you paid the annual delivery they would carry it on, so if shut for 3 months you would get 3 months added at the end.

Marmite27 · 26/03/2020 22:43

Good, the conditions in their warehouses were horrific. They closed all their facilities (tables and chairs) and staff were eating on the streets.

Google next south elmsall and it’ll come up. The local mp ended up writing to the pm over it Angry

Tootletum · 26/03/2020 22:43

Yep, safe and soon unemployed. Oh well I guess we all will be in a few months.

ssd · 26/03/2020 22:49

Thank you next. You have put shop workers health above everything else. I applaud you. My friend works in John Lewis, she now has to work in waitrose. She's suddenly a key worker and terrified of catching the virus. Awful.

Leflic · 26/03/2020 22:53

Good. Stop buying nonessential things online. There’s no need for the postie or delivery driver to do more than they need.
Newborns don’t need clothes. They sleep 17 hrs a day. Just wrap them in blankets.Like half the world does.

TrainspottingWelsh · 26/03/2020 22:54

denim we're all tall too. Dc are slender too making it extra difficult. It's still not 'a real issue' in the current circumstances.

This place is fucking mad. Walk your dog twice when you live in the middle of nowhere and you're killing the nhs. People have lost everything, we've wrecked the economy, but prevent us from buying overpriced primark quality vanity sized clothes online and we have a problem?

PurpleFlower1983 · 26/03/2020 22:55

I live near the factories - conditions have been horrendous but the staff found out via the website too.

PurpleFlower1983 · 26/03/2020 22:57

There are concerns that this won’t be temporary.

TrainspottingWelsh · 26/03/2020 22:58

Well if you're not leaving the house nemo you have even less need for new clothes. Could you be anymore entitled?

GabsAlot · 26/03/2020 23:02

because people still have to bloody pack and ship'it that's why

banjaxxed · 26/03/2020 23:03

@Marmite27 have you ever been in one?

SummersMahoosiveClipOnFringe · 26/03/2020 23:04

Could you be anymore pious Train ?

We are all going to get the bloody thing at one point- it is only a question of when.
