Virtual kiss to @alsohuman

That is a beautiful perspective.

I spiraled on Sunday feeling I simply couldn't cope then absolutely fine on Monday. Very reassuring that I could actually have some control over it and if I can't control it at that point, it will pass.

I was thinking I can't do the next few months but a strong voice come in and says "can you do today?" Answer is always yes. So just do that then. Flowers

I don’t have pets but I have coffee and custard tarts

@Writersblock2, that's truly amazing and I am so pleased for you! Good news for the day.

Mine is that not having been near a shop since 13th, I sent DH to the shops at seven-thirty with a comprehensive list for the week, and he came home with everything that was on it apart from the onion powder which I wanted to make currywurst with boo hoo, I'll have to use fine-chopped onion instead, however will we survive? and bread flour, which isn't a frantic urgency because I have a bag in the cupboard, I just try always to have two so that there is one in reserve for emergencies. This must be the emergency I do that for! It really does look as if with a little care we will manage to shop without too much trouble, which is a great relief.

Writersblock2 · 24/03/2020 13:18

Thank you. I hope everyone here is well and managing with everything going on. I’ll keep an eye on this thread, it’s lovely. Smile

tobee · 24/03/2020 13:33

My good news seems a bit self centred (family centred?):- dd and I finally wrote an inventory of the freezer last night and it was better stocked than o thought! Grin

Does anyone know what defrosted milk tastes like?

Alsohuman · 24/03/2020 13:43

Oh @Writersblock2, that’s amazing. Thank you so much for sharing that. Here’s to your first 🥂

Spudlet · 24/03/2020 13:45

A totally self-centred bit of news - the drains are unblocked! Hurrah!

The car needs work doing though - bugger. But at least we’ll have it - pretty crucial as we don’t have a supermarket within walking distance, and even cycling would take a hour in each direction which I think would be stretching the definition of daily exercise a little...!

Hello all, I'm on here intermittently. I wanted to post this...

www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-hereford-worcester-52015736/coronavirus-gtech-designs-prototype-ventilator

Wonderful british firm GTech have designed ventilators and will be giving away the technology to anyone who can make them. When this is all over, I am buying a GTech vacuum.

Beautiful day and did a 3 mile walk this morning, saw baby lambs, alpacas and pheasants. Beautiful day and I was actually quite hot walking. It makes me feel so much better to have this walk and I hope to god it won't have to be stopped as where I go I see no one anyway... straight out my door into fields

DobbyTheHouseElk · 24/03/2020 14:12

Milk is safe to freeze. It freezes yellow, but returns to normal when it’s thawed.

tobee · 24/03/2020 14:13

Thanks Dobby. How does it taste though?Grin

PrivateSpidey · 24/03/2020 14:28

It's fine tobee. I always freeze milk anyway!

3luckystars · 24/03/2020 14:28

I just wanted to repost this link, it was on thread 1 and helped me so much:

Thanks PrivateSpidey. How's your classic film viewing going? Grin

@Writersblock2 - just popping in to say, kudos to you! Well done - you rock

tobee · 24/03/2020 14:44

@Writersblock2 thanks for sharing. Love these glimpses into poster's lives!

MinesaPinot · 24/03/2020 14:49

Afternoon all just popping in on my WFH lunchbreak! My positive is that I actually got a full night's sleep last night after Boris' statement. I have been so worried about having to go into work this week and travelling on the train and with one stroke that was all taken away! I feel much calmer. And the sun is shining but still chilly so I can enjoy the brightness but not feel that I am missing being outside.

VoyageInTheDark · 24/03/2020 15:11

@roussette I'm jealous you get to see alpacas on your walk!

I'm having terrible trouble posting on MN at the moment, this is just me testing to see if it posts

Callybrid · 24/03/2020 16:10

Hello thread 4. Happy to report everyone was doing excellent social distancing on my short walk just now - it’s quite lovely being so quiet. We live near a really busy main road that I normally hate.

Sending get well soon wishes to @RobinHobb Flowers and calm vibes to you all.

GuyFawkesDay · 24/03/2020 16:12

Finished my commute, my first day as a teacher finishing at 3pm have been this week and been a glass of wine on the sun.

I've done more exercise this week than the previous month, and thanks to Joe Wicks will be doing it again tomorrow too. If it wasn't for the wine, I might end up thinner 😁

AutumnRose1 · 24/03/2020 16:12

I’m chirpy today

I put some baby daffodils in mum’s garden, she grumbles aboit everything but even she says they’re cute.

I need to put the next batch in a more sheltered spot though.

Lovely day. alas, no alpacas for me!

Roussette · 24/03/2020 16:12

OK.... trtying again...
@VoyageInTheDark

Here they are from this morning's walk, they're reasonably tame too!
