Please keep your children off school if you possibly can!

Teachers are not in school to save your job! They are not there to enable you to work from home! They are not there so your child doesn't miss their education! They are not there because you can't face looking after them all day! They are not there so your boss can keep his business operating! They are only there to keep absolutely critical workers working!

When this all over I want to return to work with ALL my colleagues.

Have you got a source to back up your title, OP?

A very irresponsible and unhelpful title if no head teacher has lost their life. Why cause distress needlessly? If someone has died you need to clarify that in your thread please think carefully what you're doing

OK link included but maybe less Daily Fail next time

I think that the thread title did say it.

II would imagine that any distress caused here by not immediately including a link will pale into insignificance against the distress of the head teacher’s family.

What the heck is that title, could you be any more insensitive? That person was a human; a daughter, a friend, a sister maybe, a colleague and so much more.

Yes, stay at home but please don’t sensationalise a tragic loss in this way.

Eh? I didn't link to the "Daily Fail" and neither did anyone else!

Dreadfully sad. I’d imagine other staff and pupils would be infected too.
Such a loss to both her family and school community.

I said it because to begin with there was no url and I though the OPs head teacher had died before opening the thread. It was very shocking and I'm just asking for a bit more of a gentle title.

Thanks @PanicOnTheStreets85 that's what I meant. I don't think that's an unreasonable ask. I have friends who are HTs

What absolutely tragic news for her family and colleagues.
I get the sentiment of what your saying and hope most parents are doing what you ask to put the least amount of staff at risk. Sad

The U.K. needs to actually CLOSE the schools!! This is ridiculous!!

I don't really care if I upset you- I'm trying to get the message across, after reading on MN of people sending their kids to school when they don't really need it, after 30% of kids in my school applying to attend still, after reports in the press of people abusing staff for turning them away, after seeing small claims insurance staff on facebook trying to get a nursery place because they won't be able to work well with their kids at home.
I started this thread to highlight the danger teachers are in and hopefully get across that the less children in school, the less chance of more dyeing- kids and teachers alike!

@Holdmenow where do you propose key workers' children go?

Can we just remember that head te aher has a family.

Possibly a family member is on mn. I know they might not be, but they could be.

I would be gutted to see my family members death paraded here with such a title.

I get your sentiment, op, I really do. I am working for home with ds who has aspergers. I am a key worker but could work from home so I havent sent him in.

But if I read 'police officer dead' and it was my father, I wouldnt be happy.

It's awful and people need warning. But theres a way to do it.

A thread on Mumsnet is not going to change anyone's behaviour. All it does is distress those already staying at home.

@Tarttlet several other countries including my own country have managed to work it out without having the schools open!! What makes it so difficult/different for the U.K.!!???

If we go into lockdown, then schools will be closed completely I think.

The children will have to go to the same places that critical workers children have gone in Italy. It would be very few children that don't have any alternative- people will have to be at home with them. People will have to make decisions.

"A Headteacher has died after contracting Corona virus" cf
"Head Teacher dead!"

If you need to start a thread about it, maybe use less "headline" clickbait language.

On another thread here someone has posted there are 130 children attending a school today. I think this is what the op is getting at.
