Head Teacher among latest UK coronavirus victims

Please keep your children off school if you possibly can!

Teachers are not in school to save your job! They are not there to enable you to work from home! They are not there so your child doesn't miss their education! They are not there because you can't face looking after them all day! They are not there so your boss can keep his business operating! They are only there to keep absolutely critical workers working!

When this all over I want to return to work with ALL my colleagues.

Thankfully it's been edited to something true, but less headline grabbing.

It’s strange, I always thought if our country went through some kind of crisis we would be there for each other. Communities standing side by side, race or religion wouldn’t matter we would just be united as one.
Recent events have shown the complete opposite and I despair.

for those suggesting ask neighbours etc to care for your children, they are isolating ad dont want to. Most know children are high risk carries so they are super spreaders! often asymptomatic they may spread it and cause severe illness.
for me personally (nurse/single mum) my neighbours wont help, one is a nurse too, one set are elderly, another set simply said they dont want to risk contagion entering their home where they are with their own children.
as time goes on and more people sadly die, fear grows and will continue to grow until panic will drive people into their own homes.
sickness and isolation for sickness will reduce the availability of teaching and medical staff further

if we hope to contain this virus at all we need to pull together as best we can

this will mean that sadly, some of us will be at higher risk than others.

Why oh why should teachers be exposed to this???

RIP Wendy Jacobs, my sincerest sympathy to her family and friends.

Umm you didn’t upset me, I was thinking about those who loved Wendy Jacobs and how they might feel seeing you use their tragic loss in such an insensitive manner. There are better ways of putting across your message.
