... do you believe Boris is in on it?

I've read and heard a few people saying the it's a conspiracy to use fear to remove a lot of our freedoms in one fell swoop. But, unless he's a very good actor, Boris Johnson seems to be actually really reluctant to remove our individual liberties. So I was just wondering what people thought?

As a disclaimer I should add that I don't think it is part of a huge plan to do this, but I could maybe believe that it was an accidental leak from a lab or something. I think when something like this happens it's human nature to look for reasons why it happened because the thought that a random quirk of nature could cause these problems worldwide is terrifying.

"The diseases prevalent in certain races are genetically there" those diseases/disorders can make them more or less vulnerable to certain viruses etc. The most obvious example is that the sickle cell trait makes you more resistant to malaria

So CocoCorona you were simply wrong to assume that ethnic groups are equally likely to contract this virus.

With every day that goes by I think conspiracy but then what? What can we actually do?
Today I heard about a vaccine being tested successfully by a big pharmaceutical called Gillead...Why is that the name of the patriarchal government in Handmaids tale?? I think governments are puppets of some global force (of not many). The way we have all just accepted the current situation and addicted to watching the 4pm fear news on BBC is frightening but I have no idea what to do.
Knowledge sometimes isn’t power especially when people do want to believe the government care.

We live within Capitalism-it is a global problem and I find this latest Corona thing all too convenient.
Those who were comfortable before will be slightly shifted but still comfortable, those who weren’t will be further controlled by way of gov ‘help’.

BAME groups are more impacted because of underlying health issues caused by lack of access to health care, and other factors directly associated with poverty. In the states exacerbated by no health insurance.
No conspiracy just inequalities in diet and nutrition for some groups.
Areas such as New Orleans, also saw BAME groups hit the worst because could not evacuate because no cars.

BAME people are suffering more with covid. This is a fact. I've spoke to many colleagues across many different trusts and it is the same UK wide.
That said, white people are also critically ill with it. It just seems to affect BAME disproportionately at the moment.
I believe it to be because of the comoribitites BAME people are already more predisposed to getting. Diabetes type 2 etc.


Having said all of that. My mind does keep flashing back the show on ch4 a few years ago. Utopia.

I was thinking this morning, if this was pretty much all countries except Sweden just fucking up and panicking, it’s probably more appealing to some to think conspiracy, because they might consider less alarming than being led by people who can’t keep calm in a predictable pandemic.

Programmes which predict dystopia etc are also to my mind part of the control. As if by putting the idea in our heads somehow gives the illusion of secret knowledge about this when really everything’s all part of the conditioning to ensure those who have power keep control. Depressing really...

The virus hasn’t taken off in African countries yet. This may be of hot weather or because African people maybe already have a stronger immune system with the amount of tropical diseases they may have already had. But of course we won’t know this until or if it takes off in these countries. Most African countries like Rwanda are taking the “prevention is better than cure” Route. Because it’s obvious African countries will struggle.

I’d like to know how people with sickle cell anaemia May react to covid-19. There has been talk of anti-malaria drugs helping as a drug.
