Booking multiple delivery slots is pretty selfish?

I think it’s actually on par with the panic buyers.

I see so many MNetters saying they have reserved a slot every week for online food delivery, is this not just as selfish as panic buying hundreds of toilet rolls? Why do you get to hog all the delivery slots. It seems to be something that people let slide on here.

Nobody can get a delivery slot for the foreseeable now and there’s people with multiple ones all to themselves. Is there not something wrong with that?

If you have an Iceland near you, they are still allowing you to take children in, at least my local one was yesterday

I took my DS into Aldi yesterday. In his car seat, with the car seat rain cover on. No one stopped me.

Maybe they are now using common sense i.e. if you and your DH turn up together then you will be told one of you needs to stay outside with the kids. But if you are on your own and your kids are controlled and not running about, then fine.

@alloutoffucks When people used common sense....I miss those days....

We are isolating with no contact at all due to serious health conditions.
We tried to obtain delivery slots with no success at all - prior to this had one delivery a week so an existing customer with one supermarket.

Fortunately, we have someone who is shopping for us and a couple of others.... If not we would be stuffed..

Frankly some people are so selfish - what about the people who have serious health conditions - it really separates people out....

You can’t do a two week shop for a family with the item limits both the total items per order and number of each item. Can’t even get enough jacket potatoes for our family of five for one meal or one banana each. Can only get 3 pints of milk etc. Not enough for a week let alone 2.

After two weeks of trying we finally have a delivery slot. We’ve been advised by the supermarket that this will now be a weekly slot - unless we opt out online.

We are going to see if we need it every week and if not we can release it, while retaining the others. We normally shop weekly though.

It’s not selfish, as we cannot leave the house at the moment and based on our circumstances, this is what the supermarket have recommended.
