Yes

Willow2017 · 22/03/2020 19:59

Yes.
And people should be made to go home not infect and overburden tourist hot spots, beauty spots.

Fuck off back to your town/city we cannot feed your greed and our one hospital in 50 miles cant deal with the selfish idiots having a jolly unexpected holiday in their fucking caravan who get ill.
I am royally pissed off with people thinking its a free holiday for a day out with the family round here.
People are apparently selfish idiots in uk.
Having to give police new powers to close down.pubs and cafes who are refusing to.do so!!! People cramming into those same pubs and cafes!
We are doomed but the human race is a selfish plague on the earth so why should we be surprised?

Cornishclio · 22/03/2020 20:06

Sadly yes and I live in Cornwall where these morons choose to come and group together defying all advice. Our local and only hospital won't cope with tourist Covid 19 on top of locals and the supermarkets are already overstretched. For those who disagree maybe they would like to do a shift as a critical care doctor or ITU nurse to see just how overwhelmed they are. The lockdown should be for their benefit and those of us who are following guidelines at great personal cost.

The80sweregreat · 22/03/2020 20:15

My friend heard' 12 weeks and job done' and believes it!
To others it's a pita but nothing to do with them to be responsible. It's all scaremongering is the general consensus!
Today has proved this.
I am surprised and shocked as this has been on the tv for weeks and weeks etc and all this wouldn't be happening if it wasn't a health emergency!
This disease could kill you.

beachcomber70 · 22/03/2020 20:16

Yes, definitely. Soon.

The80sweregreat · 22/03/2020 20:19

I hate to sound downbeat but I wish I could get it and go to a nicer place! I'm in isolation and it's hard going.
The attitude of my fellow man and women is really disturbing and completely insane.
I haven't seen my old dad in weeks as his in lockdown in a care home. Others don't give a toss. Not everyone but today has proved how stupid some are. They think it doesn't apply to them .

Doggyperson · 22/03/2020 20:21

I keep hoping so! If we're going to get this virus under control it is needed. I'm still hearing people saying it's being blown out of proportion, some people aren't taking it seriously. Full lock down for two weeks minimum, get the army in. Take control!

happytobeheresparkl · 22/03/2020 20:22

Yes. I have a child with special needs and it will be extremely difficult but it needs to happen ...

The80sweregreat · 22/03/2020 20:23

The media have been saying his bad it can be too. I'm at a loss.

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 22/03/2020 20:24

Yes, two weeks backdated, please.

BerthaBear · 22/03/2020 20:24

Yes

Otherwise it will drag on for much longer, more people will die and jobs/income/the economy will take a bigger battering.

ColourMeExhausted · 22/03/2020 20:33

Yes. A week ago I'd have urged moderation. Now, seeing how many people are blatantly ignoring the guidance I think stricter measures are needed. People simply will not comply otherwise. I hate the thought of it but it is so necessary.

SilverySurfer · 22/03/2020 20:34

Yes, if people are too stupid to do it themselves then it will have to be imposed on them.

hanahsaunt · 22/03/2020 20:35

Yes

Funkytowns · 22/03/2020 20:35

Yes! Nobody can behave, I just want a lockdown now. Italy warned us and we took no notice so we will now pay the price.

We3kingsoforientareandabump · 22/03/2020 20:36

Yes

Glitterpearl · 22/03/2020 20:42

Yes.

I have been self-isolating with two kids since Friday 13th so I know how shit it can be. The schools should have closed that day, and a lockdown should already be in place.

StormyClouds · 22/03/2020 20:43

I think 'lockdown' is seen as some sort of panacea on here. It will not get rid of the virus.

We should instead be looking to the example of South Korea and rapidly expanding our testing capacity, so we can isolate those infected and their contacts.

A lock down is a short-term populist solution to a crisis that is going to be with us for 18 months.

In South Korea, schools are open, bars are open and shops are open.

Stellaris22 · 22/03/2020 20:45

I'm not convinced people who do test positive would self isolate though, it's been proven the public can't follow basic guidelines.

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 22/03/2020 20:47

Yes. It's sad but it needs to happen because people ate twats and don't listen. I'm including some of my much loved family in that unfortunately
