Yes

No. I live alone so am already very isolated but I need time outdoors to at least say hello to another human being.
Full lockdown will create many mental health problems for a lot of people.

TankGirl97 · 22/03/2020 20:57

Yes. It's heartbreaking really. I have a friend who is a consultant on the front line in our local hospital. He told me today he's taken out extra life insurance as he has four kids.
Our hospital usually has 10 intensive care beds, they've managed to up that to 40. This is the county hospital for a population of 500,000. The numbers and lives on the line are terrifying.

AutumnalLeaves38 · 22/03/2020 21:02

Yes.

Frontliners are risking their lives to get us through this crisis.

We were given the opportunity to support them by acting in the right way, and a hard lockdown might have been avoided.

A selfish minority chose to blow that.
They're endangering others.
Lockdown is the only option left.

Hope so as this is the conversation in our house DD (16) I’m going to a party no your not. Dad aw it’s fine they were at school anyway I’m overruled. DH said but that will be it. DD can I go to park DH I don’t see why not social distance from others and your friends. At the party they were all snogging is the park going to be different eh no

Tr1skel1on · 22/03/2020 21:10

Yes!! I live on a small island. The amount of UK reg cars in the local shop car park is infuriating. They are supposed to be at home for 14 days.

They must be really fucking stupid because most of the locals would love to be near a big city hospital. We rely on flights to get basic hospital treatment. Why on earth would you come here ?! Luckily I think the government have finally seen sense and closed the borders.

Slipslide2020 · 22/03/2020 21:12

Yes - the quicker the better!

The80sweregreat · 22/03/2020 21:15

Why don't they get it?
I'm not a big brain but I read and inform myself. It's not hard.
This will go on all year at this rate

Canyoutellilikrchocolate · 22/03/2020 21:22

Yes

OhTheRoses · 22/03/2020 21:36

No.

Bluewavescrashing · 22/03/2020 21:37

Yes, for the love of God.

JudyGemstone · 22/03/2020 21:39

Key worker so no

StormyClouds · 22/03/2020 21:50

@AutumnalLeaves38

With all due respect, the 'front liners' are people doing a job (earning well over £100k in many cases), not saints. NHS staff are not omnipotent gods and we cannot implement drastic infringements on people's civil liberties because some nurses want us to .

FoxEars · 22/03/2020 21:56

And still idiots are saying no...

They don't get it.

Absolute ignorance

covetingthepreciousthings · 22/03/2020 21:59

Do you think it'll be staged so non essential businesses get enforced closure first? Say in tomorrow's press conf, and then a lockdown the day after.

Or do we think both would come together?

SomethingOnce · 22/03/2020 22:03

Yes

AdoraBell · 22/03/2020 22:05

Yes

Mittens030869 · 22/03/2020 22:07

@StormyClouds Would you be happy if it was you or your loved ones suffering from COVID-19 or dying of it? Because that's what's happening to too many people? I'm suffering from it and it really isn't something I would wish even on my worst enemy. It's definitely not 'just flu'.

Do you know that 10% of deaths from this illness in Italy have comprised health care workers? Yes, maybe they earn more than you, but would you be prepared to risk death when doing your job? That's very likely to happen here.

BBTHREE76 · 22/03/2020 22:11

Yes, people just aren’t listening and clearly won’t stay in until they have to.

chipsandgin · 22/03/2020 22:11

Yes, and totally agree with it being at your primary address too (unless you’ve got a fucking good reason not to - like being an NHS Doctor working on the frontline with a vulnerable partner, not because you are a salmon trouser wearing second home toff who fancies some fresh sea air at your million pound holiday home in Cornwall which is 80% empty most of the year and you’ll bring your germs and your relentless arrogance to Cornwall). Just saying, it’s not your imagination that they don’t want you there!!

Stellaris22 · 22/03/2020 22:12

@StormyClouds are you being deliberately provocative?

NHS staff are being outstanding in this situation. If a lockdown saves lives and allows them to treat people more safely then how can you be against it?

Who cares about the salary, they are risking their lives doing long shifts.

chipsandgin · 22/03/2020 22:13

Oh and because of the general ‘stupid’ everywhere obviously!

Stellaris22 · 22/03/2020 22:14

@chipsandgin yes to being at primary address

LittleRen · 22/03/2020 22:15

I think they are just waiting for the laws to pass to enforce it all. No point doing it if they can’t officially enforce it.

Willow2017 · 22/03/2020 22:22

How many nurses or auxiliaries do you know earning £100k stormy?

Rocketmam · 22/03/2020 22:25

Yes.

Because the stupid/selfish will never consider the lives they are putting at risk.
