Whilst I'm not saying a lockdown won't happen, stop scaremongering.

You are pretty low. Eithier name sources or piss off.

OP posts:
kateybeth79 · 19/03/2020 00:22

Isn't it obvious that we will go into lockdown? It's what needs to happen and I personally think it's scarier that we haven't done it yet!

PenguinBlizzard · 19/03/2020 00:24

People are seriously in denial! Of course we are heading for lockdown very soon!

bluejayblue · 19/03/2020 00:30

If strategic leaking means nicola big mouth sturgeon stirring up anything to punish boris, (without considering the effect on the country) then yes it's strategic leaking! That bloody woman needs to be locked out of COBRA meetings.

Sweatheart · 19/03/2020 00:36

Shes making the right decisions for Scotland. I'm glad we have her.

bellsbuss · 19/03/2020 00:40

I can't believe that people still think lockdown won't happen.

Fieldofgreycorn · 19/03/2020 00:43

Does everyone get a bit of a thrill when they say “Lockdown!”?

This is an emergency.

Fieldofgreycorn · 19/03/2020 00:44

There is a caller a the back gate. Please respond.

duckduckgoosealbatross · 19/03/2020 01:07

Bring on the bloody lockdown. I'm sick of people carrying on like selfish twats, thinking they're fucking invincible. If we can't take personal responsibility, then this is what needs to be done.

Lynda07 · 19/03/2020 01:11

What are you scared of, HeresMe?
It looks like it will happen, no need to be afraid.

DeeCeeCherry · 19/03/2020 01:16

There's been no announcement but I'm guessing the insistent on this thread either work in Parliament or are related to Boris. Not only do they know when the lockdown will be, they know what form it will take too. Wow. No wonder there's panic buying. Still, at least as you're in the know you can keep us updated during lockdown, no need for government announcements it's all right here

Rubybluesy · 19/03/2020 01:23

Headline in tomorrow's papers '40 tube stations to close as London prepares for lockdown'

Get it now?

Rubybluesy · 19/03/2020 01:24

I call that an announcement

midwestspring · 19/03/2020 01:28

It is hardly scaremongering.
Look at the rest of Europe.
Look at London infection levels.
Consider if reducing that infection curve would be in Londoners' best interests.
A London lockdown doesn't look like a bad option from outside the UK.

bemoreeverything · 19/03/2020 01:29

Can you tell us which paper? Save me searching every news outlet online?

XDownwiththissortofthingX · 19/03/2020 01:30

Hilarious. Even a Coronavirus thread turns into 'SNP = BAD!!!!"

Yes, how dare they attempt to involve themselves in a crisis in which our utter buffoon of a Prime Minister spent two week pursuing a course of inaction that would have directly led to the deaths of 400,000 - 500,000 UK citizens.

But nope. Nicola sturgeon is the problem apparently.... Hmm

Inkpaperstars · 19/03/2020 01:35

It will happen. Individual rumours about exactly when are probably just rumours but some form of lockdown will happen soon. I don't like the word lockdown though, I might call it hunkerdown. Or something.

TheFormidableMrsC · 19/03/2020 01:38

I've just seen the headlines about the tube. One is Covent Garden so I think we can assume shops will be shut very shortly too. It has to happen because nobody is listening.

Bouledeneige · 19/03/2020 01:58

Its in the financial times and they are not known for hasty, incautious or unsubstantiated reporting. Its obvious it was going to happen.

CatAndHisKit · 19/03/2020 02:01

aer buses going to operate? as otherwise wtf non-drivers will do if a supermarket is not a walking distance!

Matildathehun77 · 19/03/2020 02:07

It will happen and fairly soon I'd imagine. Still, I agree that people need to stop the scaremongering and hysteria. Yes it will be boring and uncomfortable for a while but you can still do your weekly food shop, go to the doctors/pharmacy,go in your garden, go for a walk or a drive, watch tons of telly, FaceTime people, phone people...... you're not in prison, you won't starve try not to panic, it will be fine.

Hellokittymania · 19/03/2020 02:11

I am in London and very prepared for a lockdown. It’s not scary mansion, better to be prepared.

It’s hard on everyone, I am in a vulnerable group, and it’s very difficult… It’s harder for some than others though…

I think we all need to be appreciative of little things, and help everyone out. There are much, much worse situations to be in.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 19/03/2020 02:27

Of course it's going to happen, why would you think otherwise?

ArriettyJones · 19/03/2020 02:54

“Lockdown” is just a (slightly dramatic) way of saying “self isolation plus”. Vast chunks of continental Europe are doing it. It will be doable. It will save thousands of lives.

OP you are over-reacting to inevitable analysis and speculation.

Monty27 · 19/03/2020 03:14

@LittleRen oh it's big bad Londoners is it?
Wtf are you pointing your blame finger at London? Shock Hmm
