They say everyone with symptoms should be tested. And this along isolation.

They also said that people who have it can be contagious for 2 weeks AFTER they feel well.

So I'm sure Boris will be along soon to confirm what the uk are doing.

Jesus. Christ.

(Sarcasm obviously)

Pieceofpurplesky · 16/03/2020 16:25

A spokesperson for the government said today that schools would not be shut just stop send kids home if they cough and if you can't then basically isolate them in schools. All teachers need to do is wash their hands. Children are safe according to them ...

This contradicts everything the WHO have said.

covetingthepreciousthings · 16/03/2020 16:26

I'm just watching this with an awful feeling in my stomach, what is going on in the world? Sad

I am praying that we hear drastic measures in the Downing Street announcement thats following shortly that actually follows WHOs guidelines, but I can't see that happening.

Why is the U.K. the only country to not be taking this seriously?!

Quartz2208 · 16/03/2020 16:32

The children line really annoyed me - no country has come out and announced it in Europe and the China stats show the opposite. You cannot say something like that without stats to back it up

I also think they are working on a China model of testing that is not suitable for Europe. China locked down before New Year travel this spread during skiing at half term - there are just too many cases in Italy/France/Spain/UK now to isolate

Cam77 · 16/03/2020 16:33

Germany has closed all shops apart from essential service retailers. Meanwhile in the UK it marathon time in Liverpool! it's Stereophonics playing to 5000 in Wales! Stupid stupid stupid

littlemissmuffins · 16/03/2020 16:34

I'm terrified now that the WHO have said that. Can anyone tell me where I can watch this statement please??

loobyloo1234 · 16/03/2020 16:36

He said children and babies have died. I have read nothing to suggest this. Why are we only just learning this?!

It is about time they gave us the breakdowns by age isn't it? If this is actually true - which it must be if t's come from WHO. Right?

Quartz2208 · 16/03/2020 16:38

France has 3 under 18 in a severe condition Italy and Germany havent reported any

StillbreathingStillhere · 16/03/2020 16:39

Teachers are now being asked to organise and send home work to individual students each day as more and more families self isolate.

BlueGheko · 16/03/2020 16:40

Why did Boris say isolate for 7 days when everywhere else said 14? And now that apparently isn't long enoughConfused.

StitchInLime · 16/03/2020 16:41

I know, WTF? We must have a breakdown ! Why the cloak and dagger?!

PleaseStopCrying · 16/03/2020 16:41

Without him saying hey UK can you fucking test everyone you idiots I dont think it could have been clearer in being directed at us. Sadly a huge part of me thinks even with this messge we wont change the 'strategy' being implemented in the UK. Sad

StillbreathingStillhere · 16/03/2020 16:41

I have no faith in this government whatsoever. Why are they not tackling this head on like other countries and in line with WHO advice? I suspect that wanker Cummings is controlling what is going on behind the scenes.

niceberg · 16/03/2020 16:43

Can anyone indicate the time on the video that they talk about children being affected?

Cam77 · 16/03/2020 16:45

When kids cough they may have already had the virus for 3 or 4 days. The damage is done.

Darlingsleepthief · 16/03/2020 16:46

Is there any truth about children dieing?

LottieBees19 · 16/03/2020 16:46

The government is covering this up. No deaths announced today. Total same as yesterday.

Mrsmadevans · 16/03/2020 16:46

It is possible that if Children and babies have died Sad that they were suffering from underlying life threatening illnesses, cystic fibrosis , heart disease, kidney failure. I used to nurse many disabled children with so many problems. l can see this would have happened to them if they caught CV. Sad

bellbaeu · 16/03/2020 16:46

I'm 37wks pregnant and have a 1 year old and 15 year old now I'm worried!!

BeardedMum · 16/03/2020 16:47

What’s the point in me working from home and trying to reduce social interaction generally when my children are in school every day.

It better be true that the children are safe. I feel so uncomfortable about sending mine in but don’t feel I have the choice. I don’t trust this government either. Feel very worried about the line they are taking now.

middleager · 16/03/2020 16:49

It couldn't be any clearer "test, test, test"
We know what's about to unfold. We've been shown.

Yet schools and businesses make people come in based on these Muppets' experiment.

TheQueef · 16/03/2020 16:50

Fuck that Bearded some things are too serious.
Don't blindly follow out of duty.

justasking111 · 16/03/2020 16:50

Re: the mantra they had underlying health conditions, what does that mean they never state what the condition it was. I am cynically suspicious of that particular statement these days when a patient dies.

OhLookHeKickedTheBall · 16/03/2020 16:51

It's definitely true children have tested positive, some have been in intensive care. Not sure about death though.
