To feel like my life is on hold? Anyone else?

I suspect it is to do with COVID 19. I don't know. I just have this awful bubble feeling, like I'm just on hold for a while.

Similar to the feeling of waiting to test when TTC my son, or waiting to hear back from a job I really want. I just feel trapped!

Anyone else? Sad

Well my savings aren’t on hold. I’ve lost £10,000 in a week. A week!

DreamInLavender · 12/03/2020 23:21

10k in a week?! Get out of here Shock

I get it OP, 2 really big things I was looking forward to have been cancelled and I'm really sad about it as one of them won't be able to be postponed. It's a weird feeling I agree.

Surroundedbycats · 12/03/2020 23:21

A bit. The waiting to see if you might get it, not knowing how severe it will be.

DrierThanANunsNasty · 12/03/2020 23:22

Yep. Feel really weird and have done the last few days. I’m not usually one to buy into mass panic or media hysteria, but I feel a bit like a ghost at the moment. I’ve also eaten any food we could have potentially stockpiled as our office is closed and I’m WFH. Note to self: don’t stockpile snacks, you’ll just eat them.

usertogo · 12/03/2020 23:25

Totally get it.

I feel odd. Like really odd.

Like I just want it just to get over it if that makes sense?! (Obviously I don't want it but you know what I mean)

DesdemonaDryEyes · 12/03/2020 23:30

And that’s only 10% of my stocks and shares.

Notcontent · 12/03/2020 23:33

Yes, I feel like that too. It’s already had an impact on me - a family visit has been cancelled, a trip dd was supposed to go on has also been cancelled. I am also very worried about my loved ones and myself! Worried about friends and neighbours.

alltoomuchrightnow · 12/03/2020 23:35

My partner has lost a huge amount (loss of earnings) we are up shit creek. About £18 000 when translated into pounds

pigsDOfly · 12/03/2020 23:36

Yes, I know exactly what you mean.

I'm very much not someone who buys into general panic and doom and gloom, but this is a whole other level.

Agree with the waiting to see if you get it. I'm one of the vulnerable groups and have family members who are in vulnerable groups for various reasons.

Worrying about children and grandchildren.

I have a family wedding coming up in the next few weeks, very close family member, which is taking place in an area that's had several cases and all I can feel is fear about going there and mixing with lots of people in a confined space.

Life feels pretty bloody miserable at the moment.

AlunWynsKnee · 12/03/2020 23:42

Yes. It feels normal but simultaneously like watching a tidal wave approach.

Coffeeisnecessary · 12/03/2020 23:43

Yes I feel it too. Its so melancholy and strange. I hate uncertainty.

JKD1982 · 12/03/2020 23:44

I totally agree. It’s just a weird waiting game where you oddly feel compelled to read the news even though it doesn’t change what you should do?

Day to day life is going on but just waiting for the virus to peak so we can move on and get back to normal. Weirdest times ever

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 12/03/2020 23:48

Nice stealth boast @DesdemonaDryEyes Hmm

Runbikeswim · 12/03/2020 23:50

It wasn't very stealth Grin

user764329056 · 12/03/2020 23:53

It’s like a sci fi film, sort of apocalyptic

ViciousJackdaw · 12/03/2020 23:54

@DesdemonaDryEyes me 'eart bleeds

SelfIsolating · 12/03/2020 23:55

Yes. It feels like life has changed and there ain't no going back to what it was.

Kateplaysrugbyinmydreams · 12/03/2020 23:55

Yes it totally sucks. I'm nhs. Everybody is working so hard but it's terrifying. I can't really think past it.

SelfIsolating · 12/03/2020 23:59

I feel that if I get through this I'm going to procrastinate a lot less. Bit of a wake up call.

DesdemonaDryEyes · 12/03/2020 23:59

Well when my money is gone I’ll be turning to the state for help.

Or do you not think the collapse of the stock markets is a problem?

Clevererthanyou · 12/03/2020 23:59

I’m worried about the people in my country despite ‘only’ having a small percentage of known cases. I’m worried about my son, my mil and my sister who have pre existing lung related health conditions. I’m worried about people stock piling so that other people are unable to get the basics they need. I remain hopeful that I’m overly worried and it may not be as awful as all the hype suggests.

Orange89 · 13/03/2020 00:00

I opened up another post Before reading this one so I’ll just joint here too. Feeling a bit overwhelmed with it all is the best way to describe it. My dad has underlying health issues so I also feel I’d rather have it and know about it so I can stay away. I have been feeling out taking my 2yr old shopping as he loves to touch everything so I will no longer be taking him or doing any of our other usual activities. Feel life is on pause!

iMoan7 · 13/03/2020 00:01

I’m comforted to read this. It’s not just me.

My wee one is washing her hands a lot at school and her wee hands are red raw. This has made me feel inexplicably sad.

Orange89 · 13/03/2020 00:03

Sorry a few typos there! I’m currently watching a Netflix doc on a pandemic (disease x) made in November 2019. A crazy coincidence!?Confused
