TOTAL AND UTTER MADNESS

I am totally amazed at the attitude of our Government! Thousands of Spanish football fans have travelled from coronavirus-hit Madrid to the UK for a football game in Liverpool tonight. Madrid has parts on lockdown and are not allowed to gather on mass there, yet they can fly here!!
Total madness!

Self serving cunts who put money ahead of people's lives.

And who would be paying to save people’s lives when the economy crashes?

Gadgnkk · 11/03/2020 22:16

Boris Johnson is a monster over this issue. A real evil monster. He's not protecting us, he is actively allowing us to be exposed and not putting out proper advice to prevent the spread. People are thinking that it's OK just to wash their hands, they followed the advice, they'll be OK. He ought to be put in prison. He's been in contact with Nadine and won't isolate himself or even get a test. And I'm not annoyed just because he is a Tory. I didn't vote but I did think the Tory was slightly the lesser of the two incompetent evils. The WHO are appalled with us.

PointlessAddict · 11/03/2020 22:16

Just read the WHO report not naming and shaming, but it's pretty obvious that they were talking about the uk...

Oh get a grip. No such thing is “obvious” unless you know that exemplary measures are being taken by every other country on the planet

Gadgnkk · 11/03/2020 22:18

He shouldn't be letting the racing at Cheltenham happen. Scandalous.

Gadgnkk · 11/03/2020 22:20

We deserve to be invaded by a foreign army and forcibly locked down.

When we believe that other countries are fucking things up, we start wars. Now it's the other way around. The Chinese should send their army to control us as we are such utter morons and we are happily contributing to murdering our vulnerable and spreading covid everywhere.

Leflic · 11/03/2020 22:22

If everything shuts down with this few cases we’re going to be in serious trouble as a country.
Most people seem to make a good recovery within a week or so.

Agreed there need to be more hospital beds for those who are vulnerable. But they will be completely up the creek when everything shuts down...see toilet paper.

Evenquieterlife33 · 11/03/2020 22:24

I feel like I’m at the point where I think individuals need to take their own action. If you can work from home etc I think now is the time. Trying to work out how I can keep the kids off school and not get into trouble! Who would have thunk you can’t just keep your kids home because of pandemic. Seriously.

Coronavirusbonkers · 11/03/2020 22:25

@Gadgnkk you have totally taken leave of your senses. Seriously, you must be either seriously mentally ill to write such hysterical garbage or you’re actually enjoying all this. Absolutely bonkers

Coronavirusbonkers · 11/03/2020 22:26

*We deserve to be invaded by a foreign army and forcibly locked down.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Evenquieterlife33 · 11/03/2020 22:26

Also I know we are seeing few cases recorded, but actual cases are going to be so much higher that what we have been able to physically record. So many people are being told not to isolate, because they don’t know w confirmed case etc. I don’t think we will know the true extent of this for a couple of weeks.

Enough4me · 11/03/2020 22:29

It seems as though economy is being prioritised over lives, because overall it affects more people. When the NHS are at breaking point, which many in the NHS say will happen, I think the directive will be to suddenly hit the brakes everywhere to delay the further spread. Until then it's denial and 'business as usual'.

Bunnyfuller · 11/03/2020 22:32

@Charlesthekingcavalier @VenusTiger

No, it’s not because they’re Tories, it is because they’re being fucking arrogant idiots, ignoring advice and examples around lack of robust responses. Our airports are NOT checking temperatures of new arrivals - we simply do not have the staff resource for it, possibly a little in the day but zilch overnight.

Everywhere, pretty much is now doing more than the UK to mitigate this. Hancock insists we’re still in containment. I’m surely not the only person to have noticed they’re no longer saying how new cases contracted the virus? Why is that, do you think? I would say it’s because we’ve now moved into sustained community transmission. Yet again, profits before people. I would amend your statement to ‘it’s because Tory actions never favour the masses’.

Leflic · 11/03/2020 22:32

Literally just had a bloke on the news that had recovered from Covid 19. He had a cough. Had no idea he was even ill.
This isn’t a plague.
The isolation is to protect the vulnerable and not overload hospitals. It’s not an indication that Covid 19 is particularly deadly.
No need for wars and invasions.

Happymama24 · 11/03/2020 22:35

Same in Ireland. We left loads of Italians in for a match that was cancelled but they still had their flights so came over here anyway. Italy wasn't in total lock down yet. I'm ashamed of how badly the government has handled this. It seems will will make all the same mistakes as Italy without any lessons learnt

Leflic · 11/03/2020 22:36

I’m a scientist actually

Oh dear.

raskolnikova · 11/03/2020 22:47

The strategy is to contain the hit in the economy. We don’t have any reserves to bring us out of another recession. So the government are trying to delay doing anything to cause the least damage to business

This is what I don't get. So we're not going to close schools or do anything that might hit the economy or damage business because of the coronavirus, but in the same year, literally at the same time, we are pursuing a hard Brexit that will hit the economy and damage business. Great.

MonkeyClimbing · 11/03/2020 22:51

@Coronavirusbonkers
I can’t believe you actually wrote that about pensioners. An appalling thing to write.

LizzieSiddal · 11/03/2020 22:52

I listened to a programme last week on R4. They had experts and scientists who’d been in charge when Foot & Mouth and Sars happened. They are world experts in the field of pandemics. They all said locking down an area too soon is dangerous.

Do people on here seriously think scientists who are guiding the govt, would sit back and let the Johnson and his cronies, deliberately kill people off?

Howzaboutye · 11/03/2020 22:58

Lizzie yes I do. That's exactly what they are saying.

Balkinfly · 11/03/2020 22:58

Honestly you know what a lot of the pensioners who will die probably voted to fuck all us over by voting for Brexit and the Tories, struggling to wonder why we’re actually now meant to give a fuck about protecting them from CV when they couldn’t give a damn about the rest of us.

Shock A new low point

Balkinfly · 11/03/2020 23:00

I agree Lizzie lock downs have to happen at the right time and we have to believe Scientists wouldn't intentionally want to cause us harm.

SaucySuester · 11/03/2020 23:01

I think they want us to be utterly terrified so we will do anything they say, it's almost fascist.

BMW6 · 11/03/2020 23:03

I'm a scientist actually.

PMSL. Sure you are........(the mad variety)
