I hope that RapidRainbow does not mind me starting Part II of the thread - if you do let me know & I'll ask for it to be deleted.

It would just be a shame to not carry on as this is such a positive place.

Part I is here:

@MrsLangOnionsMcWeetabix DD seems fine, haven't heard her cough yet! Texted DH (decided to sleep with DD and he can stay in our bedroom on his own) and his temp has gone down to a medium 37. Will go in and see him in a bit. I feel a bit cagey and have a bit of a heavy chest but feel fine. Wish we could get tested and then we'd know either way!

HonestlyItsFine · 16/03/2020 07:56

77,778 have now recovered worldwide.

Spudlet · 16/03/2020 08:05

Plant update! I have something like 32 little baby leeks sprouting on my windowsill now. They were supposed to be in near little rows, but DS got hold of the tray so they’re all a bit haphazard.

Morning all. Still slightly nervy this morning, but i's another gorgeous sunny day so later I will get dressed and go and sit in the garden for a while.

StCharlotte · 16/03/2020 08:32

At last the sun's shining!

Siameasy · 16/03/2020 08:42

I fully intend to be out in the fields with DD rolling around in mud if school closes. It’s much healthier to be outdoors especially as it’s getting sunnier we need to get vitamin D! Also being exposed to mud is meant to be immune-boosting.

To distract self I am thinking of activities to do with DD and jobs that need doing at home if things change.

This article is also quite reassuring:

NemophilistRebel · 16/03/2020 10:07

Yes I keep looking to the cruise ship as reassurance

They were in close contact and an elderly group so in theory should have the worst possible outcome

Alsohuman · 16/03/2020 10:18

I’m just wondering whether we’re doing the wrong thing but my DP is adamant he wants to keep seeing them

You’re not doing the wrong thing. Official advice is to continue seeing them unless you or they are ill. Keep on spending as much time as you can in the fresh air, it’s one of the huge advantages of living in the back of beyond.

I wish all the news coverage would just stop, I’m sure our mental health would soar if we weren’t being bombarded with it all the time. Information overload about something completely outside our control is a lethal combination.

HonestlyItsFine · 16/03/2020 10:24

Yes. Once daily update would be fine.
The Daily Mail yesterday was pure scaremongering. "8 MILLION WILL NEED HOSPITALISATION". "ONE MILLION WILL DIE"

Nothing like that number has been reported GLOBALLY, yet alone in any country thus far.

AutumnRose1 · 16/03/2020 10:25

My lovelies
I’m about to hide the entire Coronavirus topic. It’s going to be a very boring time with it not hidden!

Fare well and wash your hands xx

HonestlyItsFine · 16/03/2020 10:26

I've hidden the topic (I do go on there sometimes, and post, but will probably stop soon) but keep this thread in "threads I'm on" so I can nip back in as needed.

Alsohuman · 16/03/2020 10:28

Oh Autumn, does that mean you’re leaving us? Please don’t go, we’ll miss you.

TemoraryUsername · 16/03/2020 10:34

Thanks for this thread. The mental health toll has already been huge for me, I am already dealing with a bereavement (suicide) and I use social media a lot but almost every post is something to do with it. Ive been better when ive consciously stepped right back.

WindFlower92 · 16/03/2020 10:36

TV is just ridiculous at the moment! All news channels, Jeremy Vine is constant! I just want some other news!

Keynote1 · 16/03/2020 10:36

Hope you are not leaving us here @AutumnRose1, this thread is a massive help with the positivity.

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 16/03/2020 10:49

This thread is really helping me but I need to stop reading all of the others. My anxiety is through the roof.

Out of interest are any of you still going to the gym? I feel like I need to carry on as normal for as long as possible.

Callimanco · 16/03/2020 10:50

Can anyone post instructions on how to hide a topic on mobile? I'd be very grateful.

Siameasy · 16/03/2020 11:00

Just been to the gym chocolate and feel much better for it. Going to continue to do so until it closes. If it does I have planned some workouts for home.
I stopped reading all the other threads and am only reading official guidance. The amount of crazy, made-up rumours I keep hearing some are beyond insane it’s best to stick to official only

Canshopwillshop · 16/03/2020 11:01

@chocolatesaltyballs22 - I’ve cancelled my exercise class this morning and went for a long dog walk in the fresh air instead. Not sure if I made the right decision as I’m missing doing my class and having a bit of normality. Not sure if I’ll go to yoga and other classes booked in this week.

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 16/03/2020 11:09

Thanks for the responses...I'm WFH and thinking of a lunchtime swim. Need to get out of the house and have some normality.

Millie2013 · 16/03/2020 11:12

I’m just keeping this thread open as a tab on my phone. That way I can come straight here
It’s such a lovely morning, the ponies are out and the sky is blue, I’ve just been looking at the daffodils in the garden. DD is off school with a slightly snotty cold and her usual asthma, but she’s fine in herself, no cough or temp. I need to get some shavings for DPony, so I’m going to take her out and get them and we might have a little walk in the fresh air
My very wise clinical supervisor just suggested keeping some sort of timetable going and planning a few realistically doable things, like trips to the park, to cut through the doom and anxiety

And spreading a little happiness/hope, doing something kind for others, even if just a kind word Flowers

AlandAnna · 16/03/2020 11:12

I’m gyming, swimming and running. The gym class I do is quite intensive and great for stamina so I figure being fit is good. Also it is a distraction and good for my mental health

Alsohuman · 16/03/2020 11:13

I think normality is exactly what we need while we can maintain it. I find it so good for my mental health to get outside, breathe some fresh air and chat to other people. The most insidious and dangerous aspect of all this, in my view, is the isolation it might bring. I think ultimately that may be more damaging than any physical effects.

Bloodybackpain · 16/03/2020 11:15

@chocolatesaltyballs I’m going swimming at lunch. I find it really restorative with the breathing and being in water

I’m also going to buy some flowers and plants for the house - usually I’m crap with houseplants and they wilt quickly but will try extra hard with these! Think I’ll go to local florist to support the small business
