What are people not able to get or is it all fine where you are?

All fine where I am in London. Lots of loo roll etc. I hope people remain sensible and stop this madness

NemophilistRebel · 07/03/2020 19:51

The supermarket shelves are out of anti bac gel but it won’t kill of viruses anyway so not too sure why

The shelves are low on toilet roll but I was still able to have some delivered on my online shop

Nothing else on my online shop was affected

NemophilistRebel · 07/03/2020 19:51

Tell a lie - they were all out of Taka Dal and Tuna sandwich filler

NemophilistRebel · 07/03/2020 19:52

I’m in Hertfordshire not far from Watford hospital where there seem to be a few cases

DollyTots · 07/03/2020 19:52

No pain relief medication at all in Sainsburys in Essex today, shelf was bare.

Splitsunrise · 07/03/2020 19:53

No pain relief, nappies, loo roll, tissues, hand wash ( a few random ones) in Sainsbury’s in London today! Been like that for about a week. Grrr

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 07/03/2020 19:53

Not fine where I am, no loo roll In sight.

LefttoherownDevizes · 07/03/2020 19:53

DH went to supermarket today to buy loo roll as we are running out and said it was horrendous. Only stuff left was Andrex which he bought but said people had trollies piled high with loo roll, beans and anti bac wipes.

I believe it was bad as he would NEVER normally buy a brand

bamboo0 · 07/03/2020 19:54

Shelves are bare where I am, loo roll, handwash and pain relief in particular. Also seen people stocking up on bottled water and pasta.

LefttoherownDevizes · 07/03/2020 19:54

PS S London/Kent/Surrey borders

Splitsunrise · 07/03/2020 19:54

Oh and no pasta or rice

ceeveebee · 07/03/2020 19:56

Interestingly my mum lives in a not particularly affluent area and says that there are no empty shelves (except hand gel). Seemingly only the middle class and wealthy have the means to stockpile...

Toomuchtooyoung01 · 07/03/2020 19:57

I went to asda earlier and there was no dettol spray or antibacterial wipes

Whatsnewpussyhat · 07/03/2020 19:59

You can tell it's bad as even the nasty scented bog roll was gone in our Asda yesterday. Paracetamol shelf empty.
Only wholewheat pasta left.

Mcgieml3 · 07/03/2020 20:05

So I’ve just looked at my last online order and pesto, bagels, passata, calpol, yeast, carex handwash, packets of olives aren’t currently available-although there might be other brands I guess... The shops were fine at the weekend. Im in the north, wonder if London’s worse??

All fine here. Loads of loo roll, pasta and tinned goods. East Yorkshire

30not13 · 07/03/2020 20:07

North east Scotland - small town - 10am today.
Tesco out of most handwashes bar the fancy ones, no hand gels, dettol sprays and wipes, no cheap painkillers just branded expensive ones. Loo rolls low less than a quarter usual stock. Nothing else noticeably low.

WomanIsTaken · 07/03/2020 20:10

Reading with interest as am going to do weekly shop tomorrow, just regular shop, no intention of 'stocking up'. But I am going to my nearest Lidl on one of the most deprived estates in our region, so if CeeVeeBee is correct, we should be OK.

undercoveraessedai · 07/03/2020 20:14

Tesco's and Sainsbury's are empty of painkillers, hand wash, soap and hand gel. Pasta ok, weirdly.

Aldi had everything except handgel, half a mile down the road.

I'm in a student town in Essex so not sure if that will impact?

Antihop · 07/03/2020 20:15

I was in my local wilko today. No hand gel at all. No disinfectant wipes at all.
Plenty of loo roll, soap.
All cheap paracetamol sold out but panadol in stock. Saw plenty of paracetamol in superdrugs.

MyDcAreMarvel · 07/03/2020 20:17

@NemophilistRebel

Because it will kill corona virus if the 70% alcohol type.

EggysMom · 07/03/2020 20:17

Supermarket 1/2 mile to our west - almost out of pasta, only linguine left.

Different supermarket 1 mile to our east - full shelves.

So it's very localised!

Sugarmirror · 07/03/2020 20:20

I’ve found the loo roll fixation odd. Loo roll is not an essential. I mean it’s good but there are flannels and showers and paper you could use at a push. Food on the other hand is pretty essential...

Marmite27 · 07/03/2020 20:20

Our ASDA usually looks bare on a Friday night, but it was absolutely decimated yesterday. I called at the smaller one and the Aldi next door on the way home as I was wanted a pickle tray for my poppadoms and some pull ups and managed to get the things I’d missed.

Though I forgot to look for DH’s fancy chutney, so told him it had been corona-ed. 🤭

JellyfishandShells · 07/03/2020 20:21

SW London - no loo rolls, no paracetamol, no pasta, no long life milk.
