i only really have one question which no-one defending either side is willing to answer.

@Twiglets1will you answer my question How many dead men, women and children will it take to satisfy the blood lust for all defending either side. What is the magic number?

I want all the killing to stop, all of it. I do not care what nationality, religion, skin colour. I want (in this instance) men making decisions who are safely away from any danger to stop escalating and deliberately killing more people.

It would be good but it has to include the IRGC too, they need to end the 47 years of oppression, suppression, torture and killings of innocent Persians / Iranians.

Alexandra2001 · 05/04/2026 09:13

The Hamas attack was 3 years ago and hasn't Hamas been destroyed?

It has no bearing on US actions... unless one believes Israel dictates US policy?

We in the West cannot just (try to) bomb countries into submission because they do terrible things.

We should avoid military action if at all possible, all we have done here is strengthen the IRGC's hold in Iran, making life harder for all involved.

DublinFemale · 05/04/2026 09:29

@EasternStandard

Can you point to where I excluded Iran in the wanting all killing to stop.

I have reread my post and I cannot see where I indicated Iran was the exception in no bombs, no more death.

As welcome as that would be it isn't an aim of those currently bombing Iran so how do you think that will be achieved? Or are you hoping it will be a byproduct of the current illegal war?

DublinFemale · 05/04/2026 09:36

I think this war could be the one where economic hardship/leverage will dictate the outcome.

In saying all that the trolling of Trump by Iran in Lego movies are funny and dare I say clever. Trump is so thin skinned, they have to be getting under his skin.

I think the pp has it right everyone should stop and the leaders should go too and Iranians can be free of them.

A good thing to hope for on this Easter Sunday,

Absolutely but I don't share your optimism and as I look at things today I feel things will get a whole lot worse, with no one involved championing the message of Christ, peace and love.

The US has a long history of meddling in Iranian affairs. We didn’t get to here in vacuum. US interference in Iran dates back to 1953, oh and Churchill played a part.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1953_Iranian_coup_d%27%C3%A9tat

The Iranian people has overthrown the ruler before, they can do it again in their time, not when the West demand it.

The quickest way to bring opposing sides together is to have an outsider come and attack.

Getting rid of Trump and Netanyahu would also be a positive.

I hope they can. 47 years is a long time and executions mean people are suppressed.

Re the pp mid terms and elections are coming up for those leaders, people can vote them out.

There’s no more robust method of staying in than the revolutionary guard, set up to kill any opposition or threat within the citizenship.

It’s a tough ask that young people who are mainly those who object, can overcome the torture etc in return.

DublinFemale · 05/04/2026 10:06

Gorilla warfare, build up a rebel army, the Iranian landscape would help, numbers increase.

Other countries forcing the change through war will bring the people together against a common enemy.

DublinFemale · 05/04/2026 10:08

@EasternStandard

It took Ireland centuries.

There’s been uprisings every decade or so 1999, 2009, 2022 and now. It’s very tough, your suggestions haven’t happened.

You can be against what’s happening and realise the horror Iranians are facing with daily executions, no way to tell people, torture etc.

And see the reality of getting out from under a 47 year guard set up to stop the people opposing them, and using any means to do that.

DublinFemale · 05/04/2026 10:13

Anyways Peace and love to everyone, I am going back to spending this religious day with my family. I hope you all (who celebrate the rising from the death of Christ) have a lovely Easter and enjoy some delicious chocolate.

Edit: I put Christ in brackets as I do not know the faith of all posters and do not want to insult.

TopPocketFind · 05/04/2026 12:02

This war is not doing anything to deter the Iranian regime, they actually seem to have ramped up their executions since it started.

Iranians don't do Easter.

In fact, Trump started this war during an Iranian religious festival and their new year.

What an odd reply. I’m sure the people there would want it all to stop and the Revolutionary Guard to go.

Why is it odd ? You mentioned Easter, and I remarked that Trump started this war during a religious festival they have, and their new year.

Do you not think the people there would have liked to do their festivals before Trump started to bomb them with no notice and no declaration of war.

Arguing against the hope that the people there are free of the war and the Revolutionary Guard soon so they can live and thrive freely is odd.

The war has not brought regime change. It’s not even an objective.

Good. Because the people there hopefully would get religious freedom if the Guard were to go.

So even a message of peace on Easter Sunday can be about that freedom.

Since the pp I’ll add it again, it should all stop and the Guards leave.

The Gulf states are not famed for Religious Freedom. I think you are being a bit optimistic there.

Anyway, Trump says the old regime is gone, and the new one is more moderate.

Let’s see. The images from 1979 looked better for women.

I hope they get back what they lost.
