Trump threatens to 'massively blow up' major Iranian gas field

Donald Trump has just issued a long Truth Social post about an Israeli attack on the South Pars gas field in Iran on Wednesday night.

In retaliation for that strike, Iran attacked Qatar's Ras Laffan - an industrial area that contains the world's biggest liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing facility.

In his strongly-worded post, Trump says the US "knew nothing" of Israel's strike, and threatens an escalation if Iran attacks Qatar again.

"Out of anger for what has taken place in the Middle East", Israel "violently lashed out", Trump writes.

He goes on: "The United States knew nothing about this particular attack, and the country of Qatar was in no way, shape, or form, involved with it, nor did it have any idea that it was going to happen."

But Iran didn't know this, Trump writes, and that its retaliatory attacks on Qatar's Ras Laffan were made "unjustifiably and unfairly".

Trump writes - in capitals - that Israel will not attack Iran's South Pars gas field again, "unless Iran unwisely decides to attack" another innocent nation, which in this case was Qatar.

It Iran does strike Qatar again, Trump threatens that the US will "will massively blow up the entirety of the South Pars Gas Field at an amount of strength and power that Iran has never seen or witnessed before".

He adds that he doesn't want to authorise "this level of violence and destruction because of the long term implications" for Iran, "but if Qatar's LNG is again attacked, I will not hesitate to do so."

Reuters is reporting that Israel says US helped coordinate gasfield attack, despite Trump's claim he knew nothing about it

I know. It is fishy. Other sources mention US officials as the source.
Then Trump denies knowing anything next morning.

Netanyahu is to hold a press conference shortly.

I read in Times of Israel that Israel attacked the Iranian gas field at the request of the U.S.
Reuters also noted the above.

It is worrying that Trump cannot remember such details or doesn’t realise that a lot of the world’s population has decent literacy skills and is capable of getting news from sources other than his social feed.

And this is the man who decided to attack Iran together with Israel. Despair.

Might be the one time anonymous newspapers sources are the most likely not to be lying by a considerable distance.

Going from other threads, no amount of different sources reporting that the US and Israel bombed the South Pars gas field will shake the OP's belief that Trump and his WH are the only ones telling the truth. The straw man argument then comes out to challenge what anyone says.

Netanyahu is giving his press conference and just said the following:

“They say Israel somehow dragged the U.S. into a conflict with Iran.

“Does anyone really think that someone can tell Trump what to do? Come on.”

Flattery for Trump's benefit. He actually seems very suggestible. It's said his current opinion depends on the last person he spoke to.

And that Israel acted alone.
So Netanyahu acted on his own, on a massive strike likely to escalate the conflict further, disaffecting both US and Israel from ME countries and the rest of the world, without even calling Trump about it. Just like that.

Now you’ve heard it directly from the mouths of both Trump and Netanyahu. Very much alive by the way whereas the Iranian “leader” has still only been seen in the form of a cardboard cut out.

No one can tell Trump what to do, but he is easily manipulated when you know how. As shown by Putin. And Netenyahu. And others. Meanwhile the USA is humiliated. Reduced to a WMD, being deployed to the benefit of Russia, Israel and North Korea.😒

Apart from the fact that both Trump and Netenyahu are liars, it says the Iranian regime can hold out against the military might of the USA and Israel, even when being lead by the cardboard cutout of a man in a coma.

And that there are cracks in the military and political alliance of Israel and US deep enough to plunge us all into hell. Without a phone call.
And these people lead countries and are in charge of massive armies and weapon power, while they are plainly crazy!

So it almost certainly is a lie then.

Laughable that people just say they’re lying as though they have inside knowledge which they don’t. You would have been quick enough to believe Netanyahu if the words that came out of his mouth had been different & had agreed with your belief this was a joint attack.

And the Iranian regime - no emphasis on their pretty obvious lie that they have a functioning leader? Their military is in way worse shape than the US’s which also doesn’t often get mentioned. Perhaps you just think “they’re lying” about the damage done to the Iranian military too.

Obvious Fake News™ then that a nation being led by a cardboard cutout just struck and damaged a U.S. F-35 fighter jet, because this incident contradicts official claims that Iranian air defenses are destroyed.

Netanyahu said at his press conference last night that Their air force is nearly destroyed. Note the word nearly.

Trump said recently that American forces have inflicted devastating damage on Iran’s military infrastructure, claiming that Tehran has lost much of its naval and air defence capability.

I believe this incident is still being investigated but no, I wouldn't leap to the conclusion of fake news.

Apparently it was domestically built Iranian Air Defences developed by Iran under sanctions.
