How on earth can this be justified? Organisations like MAP which have worked for years and are fully registered. Another example of Israels inhumanity.

And anyway, the two you gave evidence on are dead. Secrets from the grave?

Didn’t say much for MSFs vetting process.

UNRWA have also been subjected to a smear campaign rife with misinformation. No evidence was provided and claims were unsubstantiated. Israel seeks to debilitate the 2 backbones of humanitarian aid at a time when it is needed the most.

Let international journalists in to shift the onus from humanitarian workers to bear witness to what is happening on the ground.

You keep going on about how Israel should allow independent journalists in but not seen you comment on Iran failing to do so.

Why on earth should pro palestinians be goaded into getting in to a fight about Iran? They are two separate issues. Or is the issue just that they are Muslim?

Anyway, proved you wrong. I am on that thread. Expect to be deleted soon by the pile on. Wish me luck!

Don’t know what you mean. I’m not the only person starting threads about Iran.

Yes the 'it's a war zone, it's not safe for them, they aren't being allowed in to protect them' doesn't ring very true anymore does it, especially because that was being said by the same people who think that the killing of 1 in every 4000 Palestinians is a ceasefire. Why are Israel still preventing foreign journalists and independent observers into Gaza? What is the excuse du jour or is it just whataboutery now?

It is a ceasefire whether you recognise it or not. Because it is a ceasefire certain things can happen such as the Rafah crossing opening today and the beginning of the reconstruction of parts of Gaza.

There’s you still not accepting phase 1 has occurred while the people who make things happen have moved into phase 2.

Surely it’s not about whether to accept the word ceasefire? But more about what the word ceasefire means? As the killing of innocent civilians has continued every day don’t you think that makes a mockery of the use of the word?

'Make things happen' that's some way to describe killing 500 people but alright.

Hamas have also violated the agreement many times. Just last Friday, eight terrorists were identified exiting an underground terror in eastern Rafah, the area where Israeli forces are deployed under the October agreement.

Hamas also have yet to disarm and are now disputing that they ever agreed to, so it seems that what they want is for the war in Gaza to resume. This is more worrying for the implications it would have on huge numbers of civilian deaths than what you are focusing on - whether the term "ceasefire" is entirely appropriate when yes - the IDF (& Hamas) have not completely stopped any military action at all.

Despite this, the ceasefire holds just about and full scale war is avoided.

I meant the many people who have designed the peace plan, somehow got both sides to agree to it and are implementing it under extremely difficult circumstances.

They have made things happen - a stop (hopefully permanent) to this horrible war and deserve some credit for that I think, even Trump.

Yes, a permanent 'stop' for the 500 people including 100 children who have been killed. Trump definitely deserves some of the credit for that. It's only 1 in 4000 people being killed now not 1 in 28, great success, the greatest of successes, someone should give them a peace prize.

So no credit to Trump or the many other people involved in the peace plan? I'm not a fan of Trump normally but have to give him credit for that because it did seem an impossible task.

Would you rather the war had continued as it was going @ReturnOfTheToad ? If so you are in agreement with the most extreme far right members of Israel’s governing coalition. People like Smotrich would be only too glad to have an excuse to say - the truce isn't working, let's forget this silly "ceasefire" & resume full hostilities.

I'd rather a ceasefire meant that both sides can tuck their children safely into bed without them being blown to pieces. Palestinians aren't blowing up Israeli children, it doesn't seem like too much to ask that Israel restrain themselves and do the same.

It also doesn't seem too much to ask that Hamas accept they are defeated, stick to their own side of the yellow line and agree to demilitarise but they don't.

Hamas are a threat to Israeli children until they are defeated because their aim is to destroy Jews. So they will be defeated one way or the other but avoiding a return to the war would be good.

I'm afraid blowing up children in retaliation for Hamas not staying behind a 'yellow line' isn't acceptable to me. Shoot Hamas when they cross the line if you determine 100% that they are indeed Hamas if you must, but bombing and killing children because 'you crossed a yellow line' is not OK. I wouldn't agree with Hamas blowing up 400 Israeli children because Israel have breached the ceasefire either. I wouldn't call it a ceasefire if Hamas were killing scores of Israeli children whenever they felt there has been a breach either.

20000 dead children, 1 in 50 children in Gaza are dead and the number is still rising, the threat to Palestinian children is still very much alive I don't believe killing Israeli children is the answer to that though.

Are Hamas killing Israeli children every day? How many Israeli children have they killed so far? Why are you still using “but Hamas” as a justification for the IDF to continue killing civilians?

No Hamas aren’t killing Israeli children every day. The only reason for this is that they don’t have the opportunity to.

They have a desire to kill all Jews which is why they have to be defeated and they will be. But I hope not through the war in Gaza resuming again.

It's sad that this is still happening. Israel are killing children but Hamas crossed the yellow line...like the two things are in any way comparable. 1 in 50 Palestinian children are dead and still people can't just agree that it needs to stop, no ifs, no buts, stop using children's lives as 'retaliation'.

There really needs some context to this. When was the last time unwra workers were allowed anywhere near this aid, unwra have struggled for a long time to distribute aid, how long has that aid been left unattened? Israel were allowing and encouraging militias that they armed to steal aid. Was this aid stolen as part of that campaign? Unwra blankets are presumably handed out to all and sundry as aid, anyone could have an unwra blanket. Israel are known for their misinformation campaigns. They really need to start proving all of these allegations against unwra because without proof claims from the IDF and Israeli government who are actual proven lying, terrorist supporters mean nothing.
