How on earth can this be justified? Organisations like MAP which have worked for years and are fully registered. Another example of Israels inhumanity.

If international journalists were allowed in, surely the burden of humanitarian workers to bear witness would be eased as less emphasis would be placed on the conditions of silence in order to continue their work?

From Philippe Lazzarini UNRWA:
The latest visa non-renewal of the UNOCHA spokesperson for Gaza follows a pattern of actively silencing aid workers from the UN and international NGOs who are considered "too vocal" about what they have seen on the ground.
Humanitarian workers have a duty to bear witness when international law is being broken.
Increasingly, humanitarian partners are being forced to make a choice between being the “voice of the voiceless” or being permitted to do their work at all.
This pattern must end. No humanitarian should ever have have to make this compromise.

Also included in MSF statement:
‘In the midst of the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and extreme violence against healthcare workers, Israeli authorities are forcing humanitarian organisations into an impossible choice – forced to choose between sharing this information about our staff or interrupting critical medical care.’

Journalists must be allowed in.

From the article:

“Medical charity Medecins Sans Frontieres said on Friday it will not submit lists of staff demanded by Israel to maintain access to Gaza and the West Bank after failing to receive assurances over the safety of its teams.”

That's a shame. Response from Israel Foreign Ministry:

Humanitarian status is not immunity. Due diligence saves lives.

Turns out Doctors Without Borders has something to hide. Rather than accepting transparency, meant to protect all parties, MSF prefers to withdraw from Gaza.

Given they employed terrorists we suppose this is understandable.

We will ensure the relatively little medical work they did is covered by the agencies willing to ensure not to give refuge to terrorists.

Something to hide? Hmmm.

FairPearlSnake · 01/02/2026 16:46

What conflicting points of view. MSF, a well respected medical institution used to going in and aiding in incredibly difficult circumstances around the world are now employing terrorists?

FairPearlSnake · 01/02/2026 16:52

Maybe they are just trying to protect their own staff, considering how many aid workers have arbitrarily been killed throughout this conflict. They are clearly not wanting to put a target on their backs.

An MSF employee in Gaza, Fadi Al-Wadiya, was revealed to be a senior operative of Islamic Jihad and an expert in rocket systems, as evidenced in the MSF Belgium report and corroborated by IDF publications.

Another staff member, Mahmoud Abunejeila, has publicly expressed support for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).

Under Section 7.1(3) of the guidelines, Israel can deny an organization that has members who are terror operatives or who maintain ties with a proscribed terror group.

From the MSF website. Seems like a lot of he said/she said to me. None of which has been proven.

The Israeli forces have accused our Palestinian colleague Fadi Al-Wadiya, whom they killedyesterday while on his way to work at the Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) clinic in Gaza City, Palestine, of being a “significant operative” of the Islamic Jihad armed group. We have no indication that this is true and received no direct communication from the Israeli authorities about it before they published their accusation through a tweet after his assassination.

Fair only to put the facts, no?

Fair only to put the facts, no?

"This is your employee,
@MSF
. A physical therapist by day and terrorist by night.

Fadi Al-Wadiya, who was eliminated by the
@IDF
2 days ago, worked both as a physical therapist for Doctors Without Borders and as a prominent terrorist in the PIJ terrorist organization.

Fadi Al-Wadiya developed and advanced the terrorist organization's rocket array for 15 years, and was a central figure in the terrorist organization's knowledge of electronics and chemistry.

The same year that Al-Wadiya joined the MSF, he tried to leave Gaza to Iran, along with two other terrorists, in order to engage in terrorism training there."

It is quite possible that organisations are sometimes infiltrated by members of terrorist organisations.

FairPearlSnake · 01/02/2026 17:47

Gosh, where is that from? Please don’t give me an Israeli news site. Or I might just not believe you.

FairPearlSnake · 01/02/2026 17:59

Oh it’s from X. Must be true then…..

Ihatetomatoes · 01/02/2026 18:00

Reproduced from X so until collaborated, it's a claim so we have to wait and see. The IDF claim he was, not sure of their source for that information. As always it needs investigation.

FairPearlSnake · 01/02/2026 18:02

I know who I trust more. A respected international aid organization like MSF, who have been doing this job, worldwide for over 50 years, in world wide conflicts, or X? Tricky.

And how likely is that going to happen? Zero to none I’d say.

Ihatetomatoes · 01/02/2026 18:04

"Fadi Al-Wadiya was a Palestinian physiotherapist employed by the international medical humanitarian organization Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) / Doctors Without Borders. He was killed in an Israeli drone strike in Gaza City on June 25, 2024, while on his way to work.
Member of PIJ? The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Israeli Foreign Ministry identified Al-Wadiya as a senior operative in the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorist organization. According to Israeli officials, he was a key figure in the group's rocket and missile array for over 15 years, contributing his expertise in electronics and chemistry to enhance their capabilities. The IDF released photos appearing to show him in a PIJ uniform.
MSF Employment: MSF confirmed that Al-Wadiya was a staff member (physiotherapist) who had worked with them since 2018. In response to the allegations, MSF stated they had no prior knowledge of his involvement in military activities and that they were "taking these allegations very seriously".
Context: While Israel accused him of using his position as a cover for terrorism, MSF condemned the killing of their colleague, noting he was one of several people killed in the strike."

Not sure if he was a member of PIJ or not. No of us on here know for definite though either way

Even respected organisations are able to be used as cover... its been seen before. He may, he may not

Israel have enough information on these individuals that they don't want them working in Gaza, or others like them that may equally slip through the net via MSF.

Whether people on MN believe them or not is irrelevant.

No I’m part of the MN community which means I include myself in the group of people on MN whose views on the matter are irrelevant to the Israel government.

FairPearlSnake · 01/02/2026 19:19

Fair play to you then.

Ellen2shoes · 01/02/2026 19:20

UNRWA have also been subjected to a smear campaign rife with misinformation. No evidence was provided and claims were unsubstantiated. Israel seeks to debilitate the 2 backbones of humanitarian aid at a time when it is needed the most.

Let international journalists in to shift the onus from humanitarian workers to bear witness to what is happening on the ground.

Israel have always proved themselves to be the bastion of truth have they? I think not.

FairPearlSnake · 01/02/2026 19:24

And anyway, the two you gave evidence on are dead. Secrets from the grave?
