Officials at Nasser hospital in Khan Younis said they received the bodies of 17 people, including five women and five children, after four Israeli airstrikes targeted tents sheltering displaced people. In Gaza City, medical officials said two airstrikes killed 16 people, including seven children and three women

“Mohammed Hamdouna, 36, who was displaced from northern Gaza to a tent in al-Mawasi, said the war had not ended. “The intensity of the death toll has decreased, but martyrs and shelling happen every day. We are still living in tents. The cities are rubble; the crossings are still closed, and all the basic necessities of life are still lacking,” he said”

The ceasefire was conditional on both sides, if one side breaks the conditions, the other can retaliate. It's quite simple really.

Indeed ... If Hamas don't respect the ceasefire then the IDF will retaliate and Hamas know that.

From the Times of Israel yesterday:

The IDF confirms it has launched a wave of airstrikes against Hamas targets across the Gaza Strip after terror operatives opened fire on troops earlier today in the Khan Younis area.

The military says that no soldiers were wounded in the attack, which took place on the eastern side of the Yellow Line, meaning IDF-held territory as part of the ceasefire.

The attack “constitutes a violation of the ceasefire agreement,” the military says.

In response, the IDF says the Israeli Air Force has begun to strike Hamas targets across the Strip. Palestinian media have so far reported at least nine dead in the strikes.

@Everexpanding never has a thing to say about Hamas breaking the ceasefire repeatedly, only Israel. It's strange really because they insist they don't support Hamas but seem to consider them blameless anyway.

thingsarelookingupfornigel · 20/11/2025 17:52

Still waiting on that aid though, also part of the ceasefire.

The European Union has sent 56 tonnes of equipment to help build shelters for Palestinians in Gaza as winter temperatures drop and tents are damaged.
The EU announced the shipment on X, warning that “too many vital supplies remain stuck at the borders, leaving millions exposed as winter nears”.

Aid to Gaza: Separating Fact From Fiction

Key Takeaways:

  • Some media and aid organizations claim that, despite the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, Israel is barring most humanitarian aid from entering Gaza.
  • Reports from the Israeli authorities and from international observers show that Israel is allowing in the required amount of aid according to the ceasefire agreement. In the second week of the ceasefire alone, roughly 800 trucks entered the enclave daily.
  • Accounts accusing Israel of blocking aid are usually based on issues surrounding “dual-use” items, underreporting the number of aid trucks by the UN, and the lack of cooperation of certain aid groups with the Israeli authorities.

The media and certain aid organizations claim that Israel is barring the majority of aid from entering Gaza. But is this true?

Just don’t read the Times of Israel @Twiglets1 to note no Israeli soldiers were injured yesterday, if you read slightly more independent media you would know this

HonestReporting or Honest Reporting is an Israeli media advocacy group. A pro-Israel media watchdog, it describes its mission as "combat[ting] ideological prejudice in journalism and the media, as it impacts Israel".

thingsarelookingupfornigel · 20/11/2025 18:12

Think I’d rather take the EU’s word on it thanks.

KoalaKoKo · 20/11/2025 18:15

Sorry but are we taking the IDF’s word that unidentified people shot at them and there were no casualties on their side. How many lies have the IDF been caught in? I wouldn’t believe anything they say without evidence at this stage, they are a technologically advanced army with cameras and drones, if they were shot at they should show us, and if they were shot at, is bombing multiple tents and killing over 30 civilians a proportionate defense?

In the documentary “Breaking Ranks” on ITV the IDF soldiers outright said that when they want to blow something up they just have to say there was a threat and who is there to say otherwise.

Israel have destroyed over 1,500 houses since the ceasefire and have violated the ceasefire at least 394 times and killed at least 310 Palestinians (likely much more as stats are a few days out).

@Twiglets1 Re honest reporting who you quote like Un watch who you also repeatedly quote they are not a trustworthy source

“Several of HonestReporting's core team members have had direct relationships with the Israeli regime. Executive Director Gil Hoffman is a longtime journalist and former reservist with the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) Spokesperson's Unit. (In 2015, Israeli publication Haaretz dubbed the unit “the Biggest PR Firm in the Middle East” for its power in directing the press.) Longtime staffer Simon Plosker, now serving as editorial director, was a member of the same unit. Bintzi Binder, their lead designer, served in the IOF Givati combat infantry brigade. New CEO Jacki Alexander is a vocal Zionist who spent 15 years working with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC)”

“HonestReporting first came onto my radar after reading a piece from Canadian outlet Passage, which detailed how the group's Canadian organization has successfully urged The Toronto Star to scrub uses of the word “Palestine” from their stories, including those without little overt connection to Israel, like a profile of a Palestinian DJ. Their Canadian website maintains an exhaustive list of editorial changes issued after their call-out campaigns.”

Killing kids as 'retaliation' 💔

Twiglets1 · 20/11/2025 18:38

The Media Bias website labels Honest Reporting as having a right centre bias. Overall, they rate it as mostly factual and with medium credibility.

So I consider them a source as good or better than some other websites that people link to on here.

Al Jazeera for example is labelled as having a left centre bias.
Only "mixed" for factual reporting (a worse score than Honest Reporting) and with medium credibility.

Children wouldn't have been the target but Hamas as I'm sure you know.

Implying children were the target is pure anti Israel propaganda.

Children were killed Twiglets, Israel were aware that there were children there and they decided to kill them, according to the poster I quoted and you who seemed to agree with her they did it in 'retaliation'. It isn't anti Israel to discuss the fact that Israel are still killing children like the 2% of Gazan children that they have already killed isn't enough, they are still choosing to kill more and that's really, really sad.

HonestReporting is not a news organization, and therefore does not seek to follow journalistic ethics and standards.[19]
The American Journalism Review described the organisation as a "pro-Israeli pressure group".[31]

Think I’d still believe the EU far more than anything that comes out of Honest Reporting.

This is off the media bias/ fact check site:

In review, HonestReporting reports on the news where they perceive that Israel was portrayed unfairly. Many stories are negative toward Palestine and attempt to portray Israel as a victim.

BeckyBloom · 20/11/2025 19:14

Over the years, they have walked away from many deals as they would rather build tunnels than build a peaceful society for their people.

No I don't need to find a new media/bias fact checking site.

What I understand and you may not is that every news site is biased to a greater or lesser extent, but it's only those with a pro Israel bias that people like @Everexpanding always starts complaining about.

Yes they have a pro Israel bias, so what?

Do you have a problem with Al Jazeera having a pro Palestinian bias?
