As reported by the BBC:

The Israel Defense Forces has just released a statement, confirming the strikes in southern Gaza. Here it is in full:

Earlier today, terrorists fired an anti-tank missile and gunfire toward IDF troops operating to dismantle terrorist infrastructure in the Rafah area, in southern Gaza, in accordance with the ceasefire agreement.

In response, the IDF has begun striking in the area to eliminate the threat and dismantle tunnel shafts and military structures used for terrorist activity.
These terrorist actions constitute a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement, and the IDF will respond firmly.

Ceasefire still holding.
God bless the IDF.

JacknDiane · 20/10/2025 22:03

God bless the IDF who have killed almost 68,000 Palestinians?

Wow @HellsBalls

JacknDiane · 20/10/2025 22:16

Israel dropped 153 tonnes of bombs on Gaza yesterday, after 2 IDF soldiers were killed. An entire family was wiped out, as well as children out playing.

And @HellsBalls thanks God for the IDF.

SpaceRaccoon · 20/10/2025 22:17

The bombs were to destroy a tunnel.

stomachamelon · 20/10/2025 22:26

Why were the soldiers killed? I thought Hamas was committed to the agreement? I have read lots of articles today that say Hamas is not acting like a defeated terror group determined to let Gaza move forward. Especially in light of American intelligence.

JacknDiane · 20/10/2025 22:29

From the BBC.."Gaza's Hamas-run civil defence says 11 people were killed, all from the same family, after the bus they were in was hit by an Israeli tank shell in northern Gaza" ,this was on Friday night, during the ceasefire.

When did a tunnel look like a bus??

stomachamelon · 20/10/2025 22:38

I saw that too. Clearly the demarcation line that both sides have signed up to needs a buffer in some way so that even if warning shots are ignored then people have a chance.

I don’t even want to argue or try to justify this as it’s a tragedy and both sides will be highly suspicious of breeches. This happening does not need to be inevitable.

May their memories be a blessing.
