IDF confirms strikes, accusing Hamas of 'blatant violation' of truce

As reported by the BBC:

The Israel Defense Forces has just released a statement, confirming the strikes in southern Gaza. Here it is in full:

Earlier today, terrorists fired an anti-tank missile and gunfire toward IDF troops operating to dismantle terrorist infrastructure in the Rafah area, in southern Gaza, in accordance with the ceasefire agreement.

In response, the IDF has begun striking in the area to eliminate the threat and dismantle tunnel shafts and military structures used for terrorist activity.
These terrorist actions constitute a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement, and the IDF will respond firmly.

Israel strikes southern Gaza, accusing Hamas of 'bold violation of ceasefire' - live updates

In response, Hamas said it was committed to the ceasefire and accused Israel of breaking it several times.

"Israel says it has "begun renewed enforcement" of the ceasefire, hours after carrying out a "wave of strikes" on Gaza

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Hamas have accused each other of breaching the ceasefire deal today

Earlier, the IDF said Hamas "fired an anti-tank missile and gunfire toward IDF troops" near Rafah, but the militant group says it is unaware of any clashes there

Hamas has said Israel "continues to breach the agreement", while the IDF says the alleged attack by Hamas is a "bold violation of the ceasefire""

TomeTome · 19/10/2025 19:55

So the Israelis have got their people back and are now continuing the genocide. What a predictable outcome.

Endofthetunnel25 · 19/10/2025 19:57

I thought Israel always denied they were restricting aid to Gaza? Remember the mass starvation a few months back when Netanyahu categorically denied they had any involvement in aid blockades..?

This is good news.

EasternStandard · 19/10/2025 20:05

Mr Netanyahu issued an order to halt all aid into Gaza “until further notice” but cancelled it hours later after pressure from the US. Deliveries were expected to resume on Monday morning.

On Sunday night, it appeared that Israel had been pulled back from the brink, as the IDF said it had stopped the bombing and “begun the renewed enforcement of the ceasefire, in line with the terms of the agreement”.

Good. I think Trump / US will help on this part.

As I said, I don't trust Hamas or the IDF. I don't feel like either of them are q force for good.

When did you ever see the IDF doing this?

Baffles me why anyone would try to conflate the two, but I guess they have to, to reconcile their minds on what their protests and marches have been about - and they weren’t about getting rid of Hamas, who started the war, were they?

Not surprised nobody wants to send ‘peace keeping’ forces in and stuff like this guarantees Hamas remain in power.

Do all the people outraged at Netanyahu collaborating and arming militias against Hamas still feel the same? I think Israel know the lay of the land in Gaza better than Western armchair ‘experts’.

This is Gaza. This is Hamas. The media, United Nations, and Qatari government want you to believe these are freedom fighters. They are not freedom fighters.

When have I ever purported to be an expert?

I try to research facts to enable me to have an opinion.

I don’t disseminate propaganda.

I'm not on twitter I'm afraid so can't click on your link. Twitter is not a reputable source anyway.

Your response to my comment is too hyperbolic for me to take seriously.

I haven’t watched but I think this is a big problem for peace keeping forces. Who wants to go up against this?

Myfeeded · 19/10/2025 20:54

There was never a ceasefire Israel has killed over 90 Palestinians in the past few days.

What do you mean when you say that women and children are in the crowd? Is it a dog whistle to say that look women and children aren’t innocent don’t feel sad when they die!?

Women and children are blocking aid trucks entering Gaza. Jewish mothers are pushing their babies in buggies in front of trucks. Notice, women AND children stopping the trucks. Human shields.

Hmm can you see how that sounds?

stomachamelon · 19/10/2025 21:01

@Myfeededcan you show evidence of Jewish women pushing buggies in front of trucks please?

Myfeeded · 19/10/2025 21:27
stomachamelon · 19/10/2025 21:42

That was a man so not ‘Jewish mothers’
There is no more than 4/ 5 people there so hardly going to stop aid going through.
Also ‘ Middle East eye’ is hardly known for its neutral take on events.

Unfortunately not a new occurrence . Trucks have been blocked from the beginning (and aid destroyed)but to put a baby in a buggy in front of it is a new low.

The video speaks for itself. And why didn’t those women stop the man putting the poor baby in harms way? Why would you allow someone to use children as a human shield whilst you stand there holding a flag.

There’s not even anyone driving that truck and they weren’t moving.

How desperate!

SpaceRaccoon · 19/10/2025 22:15

Actually just laughing now at people claiming equivalence between Hamas and the IDF. And you just know that they secretly like Hamas more.
But it's always been obvious that Hamas would violate the ceasefire and Israel would get blamed anyway as people would just randomly claim they're lying.

And as for how many people Israel have killed in the last few days, that's going to pale into insignificance compared to the killing spree Hamas has just been on as their little ceasefire celebration.

Myfeeded · 19/10/2025 22:23

Israel broke the ceasefire. As it always does. Every single time.

Because the driver got out to record what is happening after Israelis pushed a buggy with a child in front of a truck. Was you hoping they would carry on driving?!

Endofthetunnel25 · 19/10/2025 22:26

You must be really naive to think that some members of the IDF aren’t committing atrocities in Gaza. There’s loss of evidence of it. Kids with bullets to the back, people shot deliberately in the same location as if it’s shooting practice. It’s a war, both sides hate eachother, there’s going to be evil on both sides.

The truck drives up to the man with the buggy??

How desperate to lie .

What do you think of the actions of that man with the buggy?

stomachamelon · 19/10/2025 22:58

@Martymcfly24 a new low for who? You do remember surely on Oct 7th that children’s cribs (with kids in them) were booby trapped to stop their rescue in one of the kibbutzm. After their parents were slaughtered.

The point I was trying to make with the poster was that the hyperbolic ‘Jewish mothers’ wasn’t true, there was a handful of people, the aid stopped momentarily and protesting is symbolic as it is here. Did Middle Eastern eye ask why they did that? Most are linked to the hostage forum.
