Conflict in the Middle East

Israel’s generals and soldiers are aware they are killing large numbers of children.

Children account for nearly one-third of all the war dead whose bodies have been collected and identified before burial.

The list of named victims maintained by health authorities in Gaza is recognised as authoritative by the international community, the UN and Israel’s military, although Israeli politicians frequently try to dismiss it.

But the strict rules that ensure its credibility also mean it cannot capture the full scale of tragedy inflicted on Gaza’s children and their families.
Missing from the toll are the thousands of victims still buried under the rubble of destroyed buildings as well as the war’s many indirect victims. Israel’s blockade has created deadly shortages of food, medicine, clean water and fuel.

Starvation has killed at least 150 children.

Literally no one has said on these many threads that Hamas are doing all the killing.

It’s a war so obviously the IDF are killing people too, unfortunately including civilians getting caught up in the fighting.

Any more untrue claims you would like to make?

Please stop accusing me of lying. I accidentally moved a decimal point in those numbers and I've apologised. I am very very upset about the genocide in Gaza and the way it has been reported. Including your comment about 'unfortunately' children being involuntarily killed by the IDF. They have deliberately targeted aid stations and also hospitals.

It was an honest mistake and I apologise. However, if my mistake makes people look up the figures and realise the horror of 20K innocent children being killed because they live in the same country as Hamas, perhaps it will have had a good effect. Some of these pro-Israeli Government posts make it sound as if Hamas are doing all the killing and this is very far from the truth.

I have never seen anyone say or imply Hamas was doing all the killing. And you know it has never happened on this board.

The danger with peace at the minute is that of Hamas by having weapons can form a Dr facto government by force in the aftermath of the war it will open the question how do you establish a government without Hamas? Who is going to disarm Hamas if the IDF have to withdraw? It was a condition of the peace plan that Hamas basically fuck off but they will do absolutely anything to maintain power as all dictatorships do.

no Arab or international force will combat Hamas as they disperse quickly into civilian populations.

No other middle eastern government is as scrutinised as Israel and most of them have 'done away' with large numbers of oppositionists without too much opprobrium....for reasons. It is part of the move to delegitimise Israel as a state in the region.
If anyone but Israel kills off hamas, there'll be the same shrugs we see when hamas tortures and executes fellow Palestinians.

"A high proportion of Israelis are baby killing monsters. Those bullets in children's skulls didn't get there by magic."

Blood libel. Open antisemitism.

And utter nonsense.

You could have said, war crimes have been commited. You could have said some members of the IDF have commited war crimes. You could have even said, some Israelis have murdered children.

Instead, you said, "a high proportion of Israelis are baby killing monsters"

Thank you for showing how the blood libel works.

How shameful that its still there.

@SharonEllis maybe no one has claimed Hamas killed every child but see below from

@TicklishMauveSquid
As I asked when you posted this article on another thread yesterday, where is the evidence that Israel killed these children?
It is a horrific reality of war that civilians, including children die, more so in this one as their own government WANTS them to, exactly so inciters of Israel hate like you can post about them like this.
How many of these children died via Hamas/PIJ rockets, IEDS, landmines, and deliberate killing to blame on Israel do you think?

the post she is referring to refers to two brothers shot by sniper fire so trying to imply that Palestinians were responsible is deluded at best, unhinged and spreading misinformation at worst

Sorry bad typo!!! Still 20,000 too many and not the case that Hamas do all the killing.

I corrected you on the same point several days ago on AIBU - on that occasion you posted 'two hundred thousand' in words.

Sorry to have upset you. Fair enough you apologised for the numbers thing though I shudder to think how much abuse I would have got on here if I had accidentally suggested the numbers of children killed in the war were about 2,000 other than 20,000.

But then you also falsely suggested that the pro Israel people on these threads make it sound like Hamas are doing all the killing.

Never have we done that. We are the main ones trying to keep things factual!

My post was a response to this 'Some of these pro-Israeli Government posts make it sound as if Hamas are doing all the killing'.

Noone has suggested that. Its what is known as a 'strawman' and Im not being drawn into arguing over strawmen. Questioning the detail of the numbers is an entirely legitimate issue particularly in the light of how Hamas's role in the future is determined. Anyone who cares about Palestinians should care about that.

Trying to make out people are 'unhinged' is just par for the course in resorting to personal attacks rather than engage.

@Puzzledtoday people make mistakes, I think your apology is in good faith and you do not deserve to be hounded by people who have themselves made mistakes in the past. It is a very upsetting topic and some posts are very disturbing, hard to see people trying to minimise the horror

Thank you!
Exactly; it is very upsetting to see to atrocities minimised and also to see the blame being directed by some posts in one direction (ie towards Hamas) when so many terrible things are being done by the other side.
I should have checked my figure instead of misquoting it, and I should not have used hyperbole in 'people talking as though Hamas are doing all the killing' when nobody has literally said those words.
My bad, but the horror of the actual situation still stands. This is a genocide. I hope that once more journalists are allowed in and more reports are made available, it will be harder to dispute.
I really will be avoiding the subject now for a little while. Thank you for your post.

No one is hounding anyone. We pointed out some important inaccuracies.

Less important ones we didn’t even bother to respond to like the suggestion we are Israeli bots.

Apparently it’s fine to insult us and I see @Puzzledtoday has thrown another insult in for good measure before they leave the thread. it’s good I find comments like minimising atrocities, being a bot or posting too often boring rather than upsetting.

And the poster apologised and continued to face derision, maybe your definition of hounding is different to others but not a good look to undermine how they felt

You always turn things into a them and us scenario. We're all individual posters I thought or do you post in packs?

Not posting in packs anymore than those that rush to defend a pro Pal who has lobbed several nasty comments at the pro Israel posters on here.

Do you? How unobservant not to notice the polarisation on this subject.

Reasons will differ of course.

No, I definitely note the polarisation but there is only a certain group of posters who repeatedly use the phrase “we” it is unusual

Nasty sociopathic comment. It is never necessary to murder children, if it was an Israeli child you would not say it was “necessary”.

How many children died in bombing in World War 2?
Why don’t you all demand that Hammas releases innocent hostages?
I guess Jewish lives don’t mean much to you.

Everexpanding · 12/10/2025 12:29

No conspiracy just noting it is unusual, I don’t refer to other posters on here who have similar views to me as “we,” as I would not know for certain that I have complete knowledge of their viewpoint, just odd

If you have an address where I can send a letter or petition to Hamas gladly would
if Hamas were in the Eurovision I would want them kicked out as much as Israel.
if my country was supplying arms to Hamas I would campaign for that to stop.
if my country was sharing intelligence with and doing recognisance flights for, Hamas I would want them to stop.

shall I go on,
