The Flotilla and Greta - a PR disaster

BewaretheIckabog · 07/10/2025 23:09

To think the flotilla and unsubstantiated reports of Greta’s mistreatment have caused a massive detriment to the pro-Palestinian cause.

So many people who have said little on this issue are now appalled that the idea the flotilla members are claiming they have been kidnapped and tortured by the Israelis.

Comments I’ve heard are, if you want to talk about torture and kidnap, watch the bodycom footage from 7 October. Google Shani Louk and Evyatar David.

Even the idea that her fellow protestors were horrified that the I D F pulled ‘little Greta’s hair’ (she’s a full grown woman) don’t sit well.

The accusations from the flotilla are the Israelis are indiscriminate war criminals and slaughterers - why would hair-pulling be noteworthy - after all they are allegedly intent on genocide.

When will useful idiots realise stupid PR stunts are so far from what this situation needs and realise they do more harm than good?

That's not the general feeling among my friends, family and acquaintances.

CrossChecking · 07/10/2025 23:23

No matter what someone who is pro Palestinian does they will receive abuse for it. It's par for the course. It's water off a ducks back for most now. The important thing is that the message of Israels barbarity has been spread far and wide. For the next few decades at least when people think of Israel, starving children, children without limbs, tiny little shrouds and hateful genocidal politicians will be the first thing so many people think of. The videos of what they have done to so many children are burnt into people's minds. No amount of name calling can change that, people know what they have seen and heard with their own eyes and ears.

noblegiraffe · 07/10/2025 23:29

Greta appears to have posted a picture of the poor Israeli hostage Evyatar David who was starved and forced to dig his own grave as evidence of Israeli brutality of Palestinian prisoners rather than of Hamas, who are holding him hostage.

I know she refused to watch the October 7th footage last time Israel 'abducted' her but it seems like she hasn't actually engaged with any news that's critical of Hamas if she didn't recognise that picture as an Israeli hostage?

Usou · 07/10/2025 23:31

The whole thing is pathetic.

Why was there nothing similar against Assad in Syria, IS, Boko Haram, or the current manifestation of the Rwandan genocide in eastern Congo? Why does the treatment of women in Iran and Afghanistan get a free pass?

One reason is because they knew the Israelis would treat them humanely, the others less so.

BewaretheIckabog · 07/10/2025 23:54

@CrossChecking I’ve just watched the film about 7 October where I have seen real horrific barbarity.

War is horrific, loss is appalling but if you want to see barbarity watch the Hamas bodycam footage from 7 October.

I've seen enough barbarity to last me a lifetime over the past two years. Never in my life did I think I would see rows of dead little children day after day after day on my phone. So much loss of such young precious lives, 1000s and 1000s of them, it really has changed me as a person forever. I'm not seeking out any more barbarity, I've had my quota for a lifetime.

I’m not denying there is a war going on and there have been appalling human casualties and horrific images.

The fact that children die in wars is terrible but modern wars are about PR as well as traditional warfare.

@CrossChecking if you have rows and rows of dead babies on your phone I’m surprised the media hasn’t picked up on it - their job is to share and highlight this.

Is this a joke? You are not aware of the thousands of slaughtered starved and maimed children in Palestine?

No, you are unaware. Most people know that Israel have killed 20000 children. Most people know that major NGOs and the UN have called what Israel are doing a genocide. The UN, Amnesty, Save the Children, MSF etc have all been talking about this for a long time. It's not a secret.

No, I think outside of your particular bubble, most people thinking of Israel will think of the savages who invaded and carried out unthinkable atrocities on peaceful communities which those savages carried out to start a war to deliberately destroy their own people, and also of how the hatred for Israel while it was fighting for survival on 6 fronts, removed the mask of rabid global Jew hatred that has persevered for centuries.

If you say so, polls say differently but what would they know compared to you.

What evidence is there that Israel killed all those children?

Hamas Health Ministry says?

An anti Israel NGO and the UN says?

Wakeuplittlebunnies · 08/10/2025 00:40

The UK and other foreign nationals that are working there as Doctors, the American soldiers who went to help distract the aid?

They have all come back and said how they have witnessed Israel killing children

Well I haven’t been polled. Nor has anyone I know ever been polled and I know a fair few people all over the country TBF.

Where were these polls done and how did the pollsters decide which areas/demographics to poll?

Yeah that's probably why polls don't align with your post, because they didn't poll you Grin

Just today in my feed scrolling through to get the proof you are taking for

Dead toddler

Dead babies

Horrific and sad but nothing to support the ‘rows of dead babies’ hyperbole from another poster.

The rows of dead bodies I watched earlier were not casualties of war but were dead Israelis who attended a music festival and were barbarically slaughtered by terrorists.

No when I think of Israel I will always think of 7th Oct and the deliberate massacre again of Jewish people. I am not religious but I will not put up with the never ending attempts to destroy Jews. No idea about the rest of your post. Meaningless to me.

Did they say they witnessed Israel killing children?

Watched a few interviews with medics but don’t remember any saying that.

Do you have any links of them saying this?

Strangely enough I noticed these medics never said they witnessed Hamas at all even though they were in the hospitals or even mentioned them in their interviews.

Like they didn’t even exist.

Which American soldiers?

Do you mean the one who said a young boy was shot in front of him after he was sacked, and the boy was later found to be alive?

And as for Greta and her pals, dropping phones in the sea (again), dropping plastic bottles in the sea containing ‘aid’, no real aid. Of course it’s a PR stunt quite easy to find all the footage.
