The Flotilla and Greta - a PR disaster

To think the flotilla and unsubstantiated reports of Greta’s mistreatment have caused a massive detriment to the pro-Palestinian cause.

So many people who have said little on this issue are now appalled that the idea the flotilla members are claiming they have been kidnapped and tortured by the Israelis.

Comments I’ve heard are, if you want to talk about torture and kidnap, watch the bodycom footage from 7 October. Google Shani Louk and Evyatar David.

Even the idea that her fellow protestors were horrified that the I D F pulled ‘little Greta’s hair’ (she’s a full grown woman) don’t sit well.

The accusations from the flotilla are the Israelis are indiscriminate war criminals and slaughterers - why would hair-pulling be noteworthy - after all they are allegedly intent on genocide.

When will useful idiots realise stupid PR stunts are so far from what this situation needs and realise they do more harm than good?

I'm not on instagram. You might be right that it isn't an official account although it is certainly pretending to be one. Of course blue tick verified doesn't mean anything anymore.

Ok so that is X not insta. That account exists and it reads like a randomer account, it does not have reports from the flotilla at any point, says questionable things and talks a lot in all CAPS. All the posts have very little engagement and are not retweeted by the other flotilla accounts .

It’s a very different tone from the official overall account for the organisers (Gaza Freedom Flotilla). I can find this flotilla account which handle is very similar Gbsumadflotilla. It seems to be the account for this specific journey. The posts on this are retweeted by the main overall account and by people who were on the flotilla. The language and tone is completely different to the one you posted. And it doesn’t contain the same questionable content,

It certainly posted lots of videos from the flotilla while the flotilla was active, if you scroll down to that part of the feed.

However, as the other account says that it is their only official account, who knows who runs the Hamas-supporting one.

It could literally be anyone. It has a mad poll supporting Hamas. It reads like it is one or two people. One inspired by Trump anyway to constantly post in all caps. It’s sharing updates that were publicly available. Not new information. It was created in 2016 as well which is very odd.

I think you just need to pay money to verify your accounts for X now. And there seems to be no limits on what you can say.

YANBU they’ve made themselves look utterly ridiculous. An allegedly tortured and beaten Greta appearing without a blemish on here, looking tanned and rested after her full 48 hours of processing ‘detention’.

They should be crying tears of joy at a ceasefire, instead they just seem deeply disappointed their fame grift can’t continue and ‘hmmmph. Well it won’t last’.
