App to boycott Israeli goods

1000 replies

Everexpanding · 14/09/2025 10:49

the “No Thanks” app, which first appeared almost two years ago carrying a large list of companies and brands consumers might consider boycotting because of Israeli links.
The app has become a key tool for the BDS movement that targets Israel economically for the actions of its government and its military in Gaza.
Along with a list of companies and brands to boycott, the app allows users to scan barcodes to find out more about the relationship particular products have with Israel.

It would have still all happened. It was his plan….always and before October 7th

And you think he would have had just as much internal and international support for such actions if all the hostages had been released unharmed? I’m afraid you’re kidding yourself.

Larrypitt · 20/09/2025 21:06

UltraCynica · 20/09/2025 20:21

I do not recall any protests demanding the annihilation of Israel between Oct 7th and the invasion of Gaza.
Protests by whom? Do you have links so I can read up on this aspect?

My recollection is of many world leaders advising the Israeli government to show restraint. They ignored all advice.

First request for UK pro-Palestine protest came during October 7 attack - The Jewish Chronicle

Documents released by the Met Police shows an application to protest against Israel came while the IDF was still fighting to expel Hamas terrorists

Even if 5000 men walked out of Gaza waving white flags saying they were Hamas, and all the hostages had been released - Netanyahu would still have insisted that the main Hamas instigators were still in there and so he had to bomb it into oblivion. Yes world governments would have pretended he was right just so they have the same access to the pharmaceuticals and diamonds (amongst other things) produced by Israel.

It's Netanyahu's excuse for genocide. Just like Blair's lie about 'weapons of mass destruction' so they could bomb the shit out of Iraq.

Yes we opposed that too. Despite it being our own government. There were 'stop the war' protests throughout.

Whenever our own government are directly assisting in promoting war there will be protest.

And so there is protest. Maybe some people just aren't used to the British way of standing up to injustice. Our governments are responsible for SO much of it, it's down to the civvies to try and be heard in any way we can.

Boycott is one way. We do it to many many many many countries and companies that violate human rights.

I honestly don't know why people can't get their heads round this and constantly saying 'why Israel, is it because some of us are Jewish?' Then no-one listens when we say no and explain (over and over and over) again why we oppose the Israeli Governments genocide in Gaza.

It reminds me of that Ali G sketch.

I don't think the hamasniks on 7/10 who boasted of killing Jews with their bare hands and killing Jewish 'dogs' got that memo.

A hamas charter?? Did someone really quote that as if it's credible Confused

He really doesn’t care about support. He’s got his lackeys he’ll do whatever he wants.

It was always the grand plan…We all know this

Gloriia · 20/09/2025 21:21

'honestly don't know why people can't get their heads round this and constantly saying 'why Israel, is it because some of us are Jewish?' Then no-one listens when we say no and explain (over and over and over) again why we oppose the Israeli Governments genocide in Gaza.'

'Honestly don't know why people can't get their heads around' the fact that the difference is we don't see half as many, if any, threads about other conflicts do we. It's as if when Israel are involved it brings out such fevered hatred in people. I don't know why.

Did some of you post constantly about Saudi and Yemen for example?

UltraCynica · 20/09/2025 21:21

Showing me a link to an article about a 'request for intention to protest', is not the same as showing me a link to news about 'protests that called for the annihilation of Israel'.

Gloriia · 20/09/2025 21:23

What Saudi shops and products were boycotted in solidarity of Yemen?

First, I'd be interested to know how you developed these magic powers that enable you to know things which you state as if they are facts when they can only actually be speculation. My opinion is that even if Netanyahu did have those aims, I’m sure he would have received far less internal or international support and encouragement if the hostages had been released.

Second, I’ve never heard anyone say "'why Israel, is it because some of us are Jewish?" What people query is why, when unfortunately the world is full of violent, aggressive, racist, homophobic, misogynous, murderous regimes, Israel attracts so much more opprobrium than anyone else, even before the current war. (And please don’t start talking about 'whataboutery' - it’s impossible to point out hypocrisy or double standards without making comparisons.)

Edited to add: for @Larrypitt too as this also responds to your comment.

If you read my article properly you would understand that the British government is directly involved in supporting this conflict, along with Trump.

That's the difference. British people will not stand by and be silent whilst mass murder is taking place with our own government dithering around the edges trying not to upset anyone.

We are demanding our Prime Minister retract support, openly address that this is genocide and join with other countries to pressurise Netanyahu to stop.

This is also a unique situation that has shocked the world. These are 2 million people that are trapped. They are kettled and being constantly bombed with no escape.
They cannot flee.

The other wars you mention are without borders - people can move away from the danger and they are moving in their millions into neighbouring countries.

Netanyahu is basically murdering trapped people, chasing them around a 25mile by 7 mile strip of land. Telling them to move to safe places, then bombing the safe places.

It's absolutely fucking shocking. The world has not ever seen anything this brutal before.

Are you not shocked by this?

Maybe that's why people can't stop talking about this more than anything else that's ever happened?

Can you see that?

Please tell me, for the love of Geoff, that you can see that?

Did you manage not to see the large photo of the 'March for Palestine' on 14th October 2023? What do you suppose "Free Palestine" means?

Oh but the UK supplies arms to Saudi too.

It is a conflict, sadly like many others in the ME.

It is all 'fucking shocking' yes. Blame the terrorists who started it and hide among their own people causing preventable deaths. Let's see celebs hosting a concert called 'get out of gaza hamas'. They won't though, we've just had someone quote from a hamas 'charter' fgs that's how some dim folk view them as an actual credible resistance.
