“Israel intensifies bombing of Gaza, killing 89 Palestinians in 24 hours
At least 15 people queueing for food among the deaths, and five people reported to have died from starvation” - Guardian

And many of them children no doubt. When will this sick government stop its mass murder of the Palestinian people?

If you were in government, would you want the responsibility/ cost of rehabbing Gaza?

I believe between them Israel and US will have no problem.

Just redirect the tens of billions it sends to kill Palestinians into something a bit more constructive.

Gaza doesn't have a great record of using aid to build a decent future for its people.
I want nothing more for Gaza than a government with the best interests of its people at heart. Hamas isn't that. There's no future for Gaza with Hamas in charge. Gaza needs a different government for a proper reconstruction plan. Can we at least agree on that?

Unfortunately it’s much more about land grabbing for Israel, see also the huge rise in government sanctioned settler violence in the West Bank.

Regardless of what Israel will achieve as a result of this war, do you seriously think Hamas are going to get better terms agreed the longer it continues? Settler violence is terrible but the war has encouraged this to increase not paused it. So again, what do Hamas gain from allowing the fighting to continue?

It seems to me that Israel could potentially gain more land etc the longer the war goes on. The time for Hamas to surrender is long overdue. I have read they have expressed a willingness to start negotiations again so I hope that’s true and the 2 sides can finally agree a deal before things get even worse for Gazans.

Another 15 people who wouldn't be dead had Hamas surrendered yesterday.

When will enough be enough?

They would be. This has been going on long before October 7th and Israel has been very vocal in the last few weeks that their aim is to flatten Gaza and remove the remaining 800,000 people there.

Really?

If Israel has been very clear it intends to flatten Gaza and remove the remaining 800k people there, please direct me to a quote?

Or perhaps youre getting confused between Gaza and Gaza city? Israel intends to move civilians out of Gaza City, yes but to other parts of Gaza.

Where do you think Israel would remove 800k civilians from Gaza completely? Egypt? Israel? The West Bank? Are any of those options? Or do you think Israel is just planning to murder the lot of them?

A little critical thinking wouldn't go amiss.

And why do they want to empty Gaza city?

is it for the same reason they put people into Rafah? To bomb them in refugee camps? The irony of the entire situation is you telling me to use “critical thinking”, while refusing to acknowledge that there’s a genocide occurring.

You mean Gaza city.

The IDF will flatten Gaza city and the citizens moved to other parts of Gaza if there is no peace deal by 7/10/2025. The two year anniversary of the 7/10 Hamas massacre.

It won’t happen if Hamas agree to a deal by then that involves them releasing all hostages, disarming & leaving Gaza.

Yes because that’s a totally rational and normal thing to do. Flatten a city because you don’t get your own way.

They want to empty Gaza city because it is a Hamas stronghold and they are in the business of destroying Hamas in Gaza.

Or Hamas leaders & militants could just agree to leave Gaza.

Yes, all those babies and children being starved to death are Hamas.

Absolutely, Israel is allegedly showing interest in Cyprus as well, so much so that politicians on both sides of the Island are getting antsy about it. In the North they're talking about altering the law regarding foreigners buying land and property, I think it's the opposition in the South that are trying to raise awareness in their parliament

HellsBalls · 13/08/2025 09:13

Martymcfly24 · 13/08/2025 07:54

Don't worry @HellsBalls things will start getting quicker now . More Palestinians will start dying in bigger numbers as the starvation and malnutrition set in.
Shouldn't take as long as that for the place to be cleared out at all.

The food is starting to flow in.

I'm not sure why they want to empty Gaza City. I'm not party to Israel's military strategy and intelligence and I doubt you are either? If I had to guess its probably because they believe theres Hamas hiding out in tunnels etc, and theyd like to attempt to minimize civilian casualties.

Why do you think they wish to evacuate Gaza City?

Are you going to answer any of my questions about what you think Israel would do with the 800k you said they were removing from Gaza?

Should the IDF allow Hamas to get their own way & carry on with their goal of killing Jews?

C'est la guerre.

You're surely aware that Gaza City wont be the first or last city to be leveled by war?

Its actually historically unusual to bother evacuating citizens first.

That question would be pertinent if the IDF were targeting Hamas. But they’re not. Unless you believe children and babies are Hamas?

I don’t choose to engage with people who won’t ever criticise Hamas .
