50 Jewish children kicked off plane, female supervisor allegedly beaten to the ground and handcuffed!

Another shocking act of global antisemitism.

50 French Jewish kids aged 10-15 apparently attended a summer camp in Spain.

On the flight back to France, before takeoff while plane still on tarmac, they were accused of being rowdy and singing ‘Death to Arabs’ in Hebrew (no evidence they were saying that). Police were called, they were told to get off and their 21 year old female supervisor ended up being beaten to the ground and forcibly handcuffed.

According to witnesses on the plane, the children stopped singing when asked and were well behaved, and nothing was amiss. The crew made a tannoy announcement that there were security concerns and police entered the plane and told the kids to get off. The female supervisor was ordered to make the kids hand over their phones so footage of them being removed from the plane could be deleted and she was beaten to the ground and handcuffed when she refused. The Captain allegedly said Israel was a terrorist state.

She later had to sign an NDA to be released.

The Captain has been identified as being a flying instructor for two of the 9/11 plane hijackers.

WTAF!

Just a quick question that food is in the tray is prepared by Osem an Israeli food company supplying airlines. It does not supply food to Iberia airlines so is the information in the post correct. I could be incorrect on this so I was wondering if you could clarify.

Hi @Martymcfly24 , where are you seeing that this is supplied by osem please? The only thing I can see in the picture appears to be a hechsher tape (sort of like a seal that guarantees the inside hasn’t been tampered with and rendered not kosher). Osem are not a pre-made meal supplier as far as I know (unless instant noodle soup counts as a meal!), it’s a snack company.

Sadly very familiar with Osem, to the downfall of many a diet of mine…

Hi Ella,
I ran the picture through Chat GPT which stated the "Yes, the packaging in the image does appear to be from Osem, an Israeli food company. The red and white label in Hebrew and the stylized red "Osem" logo are clearly visible on the foil wrapper, confirming the brand"

It appears they do make a limited amount of Kosher food for some airlines.

As I said I absolutely could be incorrect on this.

Don't talk to me about diets....

I guess this is stating the obvious but if this is genuine then the culprits are either in the food preparation company (which may be a sub-contractor, and someone there has taken a pen to all the Kosher special meals) or cabin crew on the actual flight..

Edit to add that I'd be surprised if the cabin crew didn't spot what was on the foils when prepping or actually serving the meals if they were specials.

Edited

That’s the bit I don’t get. I know it’s busy etc, etc, but surely there aren’t that many Kosher meals to hand out, if hand writing isn’t usually on the labels it must have caught someone’s eye, given the current atmosphere surely you’d be a little more vigilant about Jewish passengers, they must be looking down at the super hot meal as they’re placing it on the tray so couldn’t not have seen it. How the F did that make it to a passenger?!

A lot might depend on where the aircraft was catered - was it round trip catered ex-Madrid or was fresh catering loaded on at Burnos Aires.

That then raises a further question - was the contracted catering company able to prep the special meals themselves or did some of that process get sub-contracted?

Where I worked we had one main food supplier for ex-base but downroute you were sometimes being provisioned by completely different companies.

Agree with that..

Don't know what the passenger demographic on that route would be but I do know on some routes the cabin crew handled a lot of different species of specials, not just Kosher, but even so I would have expected someone to notice.

Is this the image you ran through? In the left, there’s a word which says אחדות (akhdus). Then a circle symbol to the left of that which appears to have a k in it (I don’t recognise the hechsher- kosher symbol/logo, but it’s very in keeping with typical hechsherim), and then under that it says כשר -kosher in Hebrew. There’s nothing that looks like the yellow and red osem symbol to me either. They don’t do the kind of food that is used in airline catering- it’s ultra processed snack foods, pot noodles, super processed cakes, that kind of thing mainly. I vaguely remember they do dried stuff like pasta and couscous too, but don’t quote me! I can see an osem muffin being included in a kosher meal or snack, but not a full meal.

did you have a different image?

they make bissli, and I do not forgive them for how addictive it is 😬🤣

Checked my cupboard and found osem pasta.
found bissli as well and taken a pic so you can see the logo (and the diet destroyer itself). I may eat it in the name of research 😇

Story reported in Times of Israel:
Iberia serves Jewish passenger a kosher meal with ‘Free Palestine’ written on it

A Jewish passenger who requested a kosher meal on an Iberia Airlines flight received his food tray with the words “Free Palestine” written on the packaging, Argentina’s DAIA umbrella Jewish organization said Monday.

Salvador Auday, who reported the incident to the airplane crew, said that several other unopened meals bore the initials “FP,” written with the same pen, the group said.

The incident occurred Monday on flight IB102 from Buenos Aires to Madrid, with its final destination reportedly in Israel.

“I reported the incident to the head flight attendant, who took down the complaint, took photos, etc. They tried to apologize in every possible way,” said Auday to Argentinian Jewish newspaper Vis á Vis. He speculated that the words were written by one of the food supplier’s employees rather than a member of the aircrew.

“Apparently, it wasn’t any of the crew members, so if it came from outside, I’d imagine that Iberia will conduct an internal investigation of its suppliers and procedures. That’s precisely why I reported it, so that it doesn’t get forgotten,” he continued.

The Spanish airline said Tuesday that it had indeed opened an investigation into the incident.

“The Iberia crew documented the incident and took action to assist those affected. The captain personally approached them to apologize on behalf of the airline,” the airline said in a statement, adding that it had opened an internal investigation and was working with its catering providers to determine how the labels were added.

Iberia said it “categorically rejects any form of discrimination, incitement to hatred, or behaviour that undermines the dignity of individuals”.

The Anti-Defamation League said it was “deeply concerned” by the DAIA’s “disturbing report… regarding antisemitic messages targeting Jewish passengers on an Iberia Buenos Aires-Madrid flight.”
