The Israeli army are using aid centres as target practice.

The Israeli government is proposing building a 'refugee' centre in Rafah with an extra special feature - no one is allowed to leave.

I saw Audrey Xs video on this yesterday. The 2nd time in his 6 months of life he has been pepper sprayed. The poor wee might. Palestinians are being absolutely terrorised by Israelis and there is nothing they can do about it unless they are willing to flee and hand their homes over. Fair play to people like Audrey who are there recording what is happening and sharing the reality of daily life for Palestinians under Israeli government occupation.

He's amazing. I am very grateful for people like him who stands up to the settlers and shows the world what they're doing to the Palestinians. He's an Israeli citizen, too.

Doctor's the pledge is "First do no harm"......
The continued descent into the depths of hell, the confidence to be so open with this evil barbarity. History will not be kind and the Israeli government will have no one to blame but themselves.

Ellen2shoes · 30/12/2025 11:33

Just awful. I have seen many clips from the extreme Israeli media and there is no attempt to disguise the hatred or intent. In fact, there is a terrible tendency to gloat. The disparities shown here speak volumes.

Interesting read on how Israel control every aspect of life in the West Bank from two women's perspectives.

I believe this comes into effect today. Foreign ministers say it’s ‘unacceptable’ When are European governments going to take action to stop this??

EU warn of severe impact in Gaza

Who are the EU 'warning'? Not Israel because they are like 'duh, that's the whole point!'?!

Ellen2shoes · 01/01/2026 17:05

Exactly. Warnings and condemnations but never any action. It is beyond belief that Europe is allowing this to unfold without imposing sanctions.

An arrest warrant for war crimes for Netanyahu and Gallant doesn't seem to mean that much so I doubt a warning holds much sway .

I read this in the Guardian today. It’s mothers for peace. Mostly aimed at Palestinian and Israeli mothers, but any mother can join,
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/jan/01/yael-admi-reem-al-hajajreh-israeli-palestinian-mothers-united-against-bloodshed

““Talking about peace in the middle of war was not easy, but we stood our ground and all I want to tell the world is that as women, we are more than half of society, but no one takes into account if we want war or not. On the contrary, people don’t realise that women always oppose war. We want to watch our children grow up and have a bright future,” says al-Hajajreh.
Admi echoes the call, urging leaders to listen to women who live with the consequences of war every day.
“When a mother wants to protect her child, no power in the world can stop her. And I want to ask the world leaders to please listen to us. We hope the peace negotiations last and the situation doesn’t get worse. Relationships can be rebuilt. Just as we did with Egypt and Jordan. Continuing hostility will cause the situation to explode again,” Admi says, adding: “We are sitting on a ticking timebomb. And partnership between Israelis and Palestinians is of utmost importance.”

I have joined today and I am seriously considering answering the Mothers’ Call and joining the walk from Rome to Jerusalem for peace event they are putting together.
“Admi and al-Hajajreh have now launched Mothers’ Call, a joint Israeli-Palestinian women’s movement urging leaders to “show courage and vision to bring about” historic change.
“To relay this message together we will be walking barefoot from Rome to Jerusalem in March 2026 and we invite world leaders and women of the world to join us in this walk for peace and to secure the future of our children. Too many lives have been lost and it’s time to end this cycle of violence,” says Admi.”

I am disabled so couldn’t do all of it, but I would like to do some of it. Maybe tag along here and there from Rome to Istanbul.

I don’t know anything about this but any diplomatic alliance which promotes peace in the first instance should be welcomed. Obviously not a relief at this moment of ever perpetuated crisis but still a crumb.

Why barefoot though?

https://www.thejournal.ie/palestinian-mother-thanks-ireland-for-sons-treatment-after-gaza-evacuation-6917719-Jan2026/

A happy(ish) ending but reading what that mother has went through is more than I feel most could bear. Loading her husband body on a water tanker to find out later he was dead. After the Israeli missile that hit their tent (why was it aiming for a tent) she lifted her small son and his leg was missing.

The torture they have gone through is unbelievable and this is one story of thousands that are similar.

14 people killed in Gaza yesterday including 5 children in the ceasefire….

Ellen2shoes · 09/01/2026 19:46

As the global gaze swerves away from Gaza, it seems that every opportunity is seized.

It is shocking. I read a piece about the ceasefire having given Israel an even more carte blanche to carry about their business more covertly. The ethnic cleansing goes on.
