Israel is a country at war and I know many will have links or family in that country so I think it appropriate to wish them safety in the coming days.

So because some anonymous strangers disagreed with you on the Internet you think Israeli civilians, including children, who are being killed or are fearing for their lives do not deserve sympathy. That is seriously twisted.

Why would all my muslim friends be Arab? What a strange question. But to answer this question, not at all.

There are many Islamic countries in the world. eg In Africa (bit of a battleground), eastern Europe and Asia.
Is this supposed to be a joke? Do you seriously think people don't know this? Are you very young? It's just that you sound like you are trying to provide some sort of clever insight or information. But to clear it up so that you don't keep coming back to cross examine me, they were complaining about Arabs in Israel. It sounded unpleasant. They were very used to speaking like that.

Does that clear it up? If not please drop it now and move on.

@EllaDisenchanted Information is most certainly needing to be repeated. Why you thought comments at a BBQ were relevant to this thread, is anybody's guess. There is ignorance around much related to this conflict. Useful information should always be available, to save misinformation.

Not everybody agrees this is genocide. Therefore, your analogy with the holocaust will be meaningless, to them.

Arafina · 15/06/2025 18:44

Madcatdudette · 15/06/2025 12:50

Really? You think half of the ‘pro Palestine’ brigade have stepped foot in Gaza?

Well unless you've been living under a rock for the past 18 months I don't think it's necessary to actually go there to see the absolute hell those people are living through, the same can't be said for Israel, so not really the same thing is it?

ExercicenformedeZ · 15/06/2025 18:57

I think that’s what made the post so awful, the PP referred to it as a genocide and yet doesn’t care.

It shouldn’t be meaningless when holocaust survivors and their descendants are saying it, people on the ground in Palestine are saying it and the world can see it. It’s either a genocide or close enough to be called out for it, either way reprehensible.

But you clearly don't really know anything about how the Jewish diaspora has evolved. There are European Mizrahi Jews for example. It was you who introduced 'blood' into the conversation so of course you don't want to talk about genetics now. Noone has ever said Jewish people get a free pass to treat others as disposable but you are a classic example of someone doesnt want to educate themselves as you have openly admitted because it would undermine your position. Whilst you have kindly told us that you have no empathy for the Jewish people and that they have no right to live in their homeland of Israel, you havent told us where you think they they should live. I think you mentioned Australia - a place with a nasty antisemitism problem. It is because of people that hold your views that many of them feel that they are not safe in the diaspora.

Those holocaust survivors and their descendants are still being persecuted. I don’t see Hamas protecting their citizens like Israel are.
I would rather Israel continue to protect itself from Islamic nut jobs

The guys constantly referred to "Arabs" in a contemptuous and derogatory way. It made me quite uncomfortable as I have had always close muslim friends.

You seem to equate being Arab and being muslim. You sounded ill-informed.

Are you very young?😂

My father in law is 90 and I'm younger than him. Are you very old?

Oh the old “I see you” nonsense

Much like the anyone in disdain at the current situation because they aren’t unequivocally behind Netanyahu and his awful govt are somehow supporting Iran and their awful regime by default.

And that anyone expressing disgust at the barbaric situation in Gaza is somehow an anti semite and supporter of hamas…Hmm

I wish the innocent citizens of Israel safety.
I wish the innocent citizens of Iran safety too.

I also believe far far more Innocent civilians from Iran will now be killed on this conflict. This is what history has told us.

Why are any if you on this thread, if not to share the OP's support to Israel?

Is this thread purely Israeli supporters territory? Are we not allowed to share support to other nations too in this brutal, somewhat one sided conflict?

I see youWink

So just to derail the thread then? Thought so.

mouthpipette · 15/06/2025 22:34

Getting the thread back on track,
The safety of those is Israel would be vastly improved if Benjamin Netanyahu choked on an olive.
Could we crowdfund to send him some ?

The more you post, the more ignorant you expose yourself to be. I’m cringing for you.

I'm not particularly interested in learning anymore about Jewish history. I mean this is an admission not only of your ignorance, but the fact you are unwilling to change that.

I guess educating yourself might expose you to the possibility of having to change some of your opinions, right? And why let facts get in the way of the pleasure of self-righteousness.

Dangermoo · 15/06/2025 20:14

Surely people post threads to provoke discussion and discussion entails different points of view.

We should be able to talk about this, giving different opinions, without resorting to personal remarks of which I have seen a few here.
