Conflict in the Middle East
ButtCheeks · 02/06/2025 05:33

Starting?
Jews have been afraid for quite awhile now.

Can we stop pretending that these people actually give a shit about Palestinians? It’s just a convenient platform for violent antisemitism.

CaptainFuture · 02/06/2025 05:37

It's been a scary, oppressive, violence inducing battle cry from the start! It's bonkers the number of idiots thinking they're 'right on' joining in on it!

AutismMum2021 · 02/06/2025 06:20

People have feared it since day 1.

Firealarm1414 · 02/06/2025 08:22

The worst part is that many on the free Palestine side think that this is justified. They have been calling to 'globalise the intifada' for a long time now and this is what it means. Setting jews on fire and shooting at random jews you see leaving a jewish museum has been rebranded as activism instead of just plain old antisemitism, which it blatantly is. Absolutely disgusting. Ironically, they are bolstering the idea that Israel needs to exist for jews to be safe in the world which probably isn't what they'd like.

quantumbutterfly · 02/06/2025 08:25

It's certainly been weaponised by people with another agenda.

Defenestre · 02/06/2025 08:39

Interesting that the concept of a free Palestine is so terrifying to some. Or to put it another way, Zionists the world over can only feel safe while Palestine continues to be unfree.

Ok. Back on planet earth, us normal people would just rather jews weren't murdered because some people can't stand the idea that Israel exists. You obviously think that both a Palestinian state and Israel can't exist at the same time but that's your problem. Most people dont share your sentiment, thankfully.

What a bizarre thought process you seem to have.

Itscoldinside · 02/06/2025 10:22

Some of the marchers are quite intimidating in behaviour. Some don't like challenge over hamas role in this conflict.

The slogan being used during attacks on individuals and Allah Akbar being used during terrorist attacks is worrying. The ramping up of what some believe is ok in a different country to totally unconnected individuals is appalling.

Itscoldinside · 02/06/2025 10:24

"The 45-year-old man, identified as Mohamed Sabry Soliman, is alleged to have thrown the device into a group of people who had assembled in a pedestrianised zone for a peaceful protest for Israeli hostages still held in Gaza."

Peaceful support not tolerated by some it seems.

Seagullsandsausagerolls · 02/06/2025 10:58

Jewish people have known from day one the way the wind was blowing. They were mocked, called liars and that's the nicest comments many denied antisemitism existed and if it did well it was their fault.

Of course they're worried. Two people have been shot and a number of people set on fire one of which is fucking 88 years old because they were Jewish. Not in Gaza, not in Israel but America.

One of the injured today was a Holocaust survivor. It was a peaceful demonstration in favour of the hostages. And yet, there are people justifying the attack.

"Free Palestine" shouldn't be threatening, but they're making it that way. "Globalising the intifada" is and has always been another matter however.

But this has sod-all to do with attacking random Jews in america. It doesn't help Palestine a bit.

ClaudeShowers · 02/06/2025 11:07

Justifying the attack shows a toxic mind set that is at work here. These people need deprogramming.

This is invariably the line trotted out. Minimising anti semetism...they're just against genocide. If only we could all be so humanitarian hey?!

It's really getting tiresome now.

Sadly yes people justify these disgusting attacks

Shameless comment when you consider the topic of the thread.

Like I said, if only we could all be so humanitarian...🙄

Seagullsandsausagerolls · 02/06/2025 11:34

Not sure if history will look kindly on those who set people on fire, shot innocents, murdered a woman on her way to give birth and celebrated all this including the death of the baby last week and claim to be the good guys.

Terri926 · 02/06/2025 11:39

This was a disgusting attack on people peacefully protesting about getting the hostages released. The genocide in Gaza is horrific but this is also horrendous.

It's sad that so many people on both sides seem to only be able to see the other side as the problem.

ComeAsYouAreAsAFriend · 02/06/2025 11:56

Mindless terrorist antisemitic assault on innocent protesters. Trump's America is full of hate and division he has contributed to the polarisation of views. There was a lot of premeditation in this assault so it will be interesting to see who he is and what his background is, whether he's a lone wolf or part of something more.

CowboyFromHell · 02/06/2025 12:01

It is an objection to genocide and war crimes. Israel deserves to be a pariah on the world stage for its actions in Gaza. History will judge them very harshly and ask what we did while this horror was going on right in front of our eyes.

Regardless of whether this is true or not, the fact Jews are being targeted worldwide negates your point.

I’m a Jew with zero connection, support or affiliation with the current Israeli government. Yet you are basically saying it’s okay to attack someone like me because y’know…..Jews.

Opposite side of your quote. I don't support either side as it's too complicated but if you are trying to erase Palestine and Palestinians, razing the country to the ground, starving them to death and killing over 50,000 people then there is going to be a backlash.

The holocaust and what happened in Oct 23 doesn't justify what Israel is doing now and past history doesn't justify what Hamas did in Oct 23
