More strikes and killings over night. Children included in the dead. No where is safe north and south under attack

RTE news : At least 38 killed in Israeli strikes on Khan Younis

The usual behavior from the IDF, "leave here and go there to be safe" then bomb them when they get there. 😡

I saw that Ch 4 report about the settler plans, and the report today about the young orphaned child who is now trying to survive.
The difference between this war and many others is that Israeli actions are being regarded as reasonable by the international community.
The messaging is a very muted 'please be more careful on your murdering spree'.

lionlass · 25/10/2024 22:37

Has anyone heard about the 4 water engineers from Britain who were killed? It doesn't seem to be being reported on UK news which seems strange. Apparently they were in a marked vehicle and had coordinated their plans but were still attacked by Israel.

I did see that reported I didn't realise they were British

Will this be enforceable? It's disgusting.

Well they happily target aid workers all the time, and they hate the UN full stop (not just Unrwa. Basically Israel won't tolerate anyone who supports Palestinians, or anyone who shows the truth of what they are doing.

Dulra · 29/10/2024 09:31

Just when you think it can't get any worse it does. Shameful they are enabled by certain western states

MissyB1 · 29/10/2024 10:34

Israel literally has no shame 😡 mind you they know they are not being held to account for their actions, so they convince themselves it's all good!

I sincerely hope that the shame will come in the future though, and the Countries that supported and facilitated them will have to bear the shame too.

Lalaloveya · 29/10/2024 11:48

It's genocide. We've seen it before. I can't believe we're watching it happen again. We're standing by and allowing it. Actually, we are helping them. It's beyond belief.

Just listening to another horrific account from a health care professional just out of Gaza on the radio. I am sick of these poor traumatised doctors having to do this when they leave Gaza knowing they are among the only ones bearing witness to it. They should never be put in that position. It is long past the time to let independent journalists and observers in.

This is an interesting and depressing article about the radicalization of the IDF.
"In 2016, two Palestinian attackers stabbed a soldier, wounding him. The Palestinians were shot. One of them was killed—the other one was neutralized, laying on the ground. Minutes later, a military medic called Elor Azaria arrived and he shot one bullet into the head of the Palestinian—basically executed him. And it was all filmed by a Palestinian activist who was living nearby. .."

How the response to alleged abuse of Palestinian detainees reveals a wider ideological war within the I.D.F.

IDF chief says the war has run its course. It's behind a paywall so I can't access the whole article.

'Medic' doesn't seem the most appropriate job description there... We're really not supposed to go around shooting potential patients in the head.

Testimonies from Palestinians of sexual assaults by IDF soldiers were played at the UN.

The scars for these children will effect them for the rest of their lives. To witness and experience such trauma at such a young age will effect their overall physical and mental health. A lot is now known about childhood trauma and the impacts of adverse childhood experiences without the protective factors such as safety. A loving nurturing family is so important to counteract the impact, good to see she has that.
