United Nations demands an end to Israel’s illegal presence in the Palestinian territories within 12 months.

The two quotes aren't the same.....There's a difference between being with someone (as in a support in difficult times joining with them) and being on someone's side

Edited

Yes, Allah/God are the same god. Allah/God would be with the Palestinians, or Israelis, but on the side of peace.

"Netanyahu Addresses an EMPTY United Nations Hall

The world is DONE with his lies"

Heartening that most delegates are done with listening to the architect of a plausible genocide and the cause of the deaths of so many of their colleagues in Palestine and Lebanon.

P.S. apparently the UN is antisemitic and against Israel and a swamp that must be drained...

Bbc

Netanyahu ends his address by saying that until Israel is treated fairly as other nations, no one will take the UN seriously.
He describes the UN as "this UN house of darkness". "In this swamp of antisemitic bile, there is a majority willing to dehumanise the Jewish state" he says.
In the last decade there have been more resolutions passed against Israel than resolutions against the entire world combined, Netanyahu tells the assembly.
"What hypocrisy. What a double standard. What a joke."
The war criminals are in Iran, Gaza, Syria and Lebanon, he says.
When our people were butchered, he says - referring to the Holocaust - no one raised a finger in our defence. "Now we have a state of our own and we are defending ourselves", he says. "Israel will win this battle because we don't have a choice."

lionlass · 27/09/2024 20:32

Glad no one was there to listen to his nonsense.

That's what most speeches at the UNGA look like towards the end 😅

StupidFarang · 30/09/2024 02:33

Pakistan spoke just before Israel and this is what it looked like. There was hardly a mass walk out, few people were there to begin with
It's very funny that people here think that all the delegations just sit there through all the endless speeches when anyway it's all recorded and webcast and there's no debate or discussion.

It was plastered in the news that many delegates walked out before Netanyahu's speech 🙄 Not sure why you are trying to make it look otherwise. Surely even his loyal fans know that he isn't very popular.

Here it is

Looks pretty full to me.

StupidFarang · 30/09/2024 08:13

Here's another GA speech.
This time VIet Nam
Packed to the gills. Stnading room only 😂
For those that don't know, no one goes to the UNGA to listen to the speeches. 😂

I don't doubt that some delegations came to the hall so they could demonstratively walk out 😅

Not sure what your definition of "full" is but I can find you dozens of photos of UNGA speeches which are less full that Netanyahu's.
I don't doubt that he's not particularly liked but, at the same time, it's a totally meaningless metric to gloat about - just shows you don't know how the UN works.

No need, you are starting to sound like trump now. Delegates walked out and it was reported that he addressed an empty room

I'm sure they did walk out. They came there to do that.
What thing is for sure and certain is taht they are not sitting there through all the interminable speeches at the UNGA and just walked out when Israel appeared.

I'm not saying the room was full, I'm saying that most leaders address an almost empty room. You can check it out for yourself if you don't believe me. Or continue to console yourself that everyone hates Israel.

Not Israel, Netanyahu. It is not about hate it is about not wanting to listen to his lies

EasterIssland · 30/09/2024 08:23

There is a difference to be an empty room and to be a room and people walking out because they disagree with the person invited to talk.

maybe you are the one that needs consoling that everyone hates Israel (or most likely their PM)

There's also a difference between coming to demonstratively walk out.

The Arab states and Iran have always done this to Israel by the way, so it's nothing new. They've always appeared so they can walk out 😂It's not like this is the first time, it's been going for decades.

And it's also meangingless.

Then why have they always walked out on Israel even pre-Netanyahu?

I am not aware of that so can't comment, have you a link to it? It would have been what 20 years ago?

User37482 · 30/09/2024 08:33

Not saying Israel is always in the right here but Iran chaired the UN human rights council. These people are a joke,

A link to it??? It's been happening since Israel has existed. In fact, the one time they didn't walk out (in 1994) was big news.
How can you not know that?!

Because I am not completely focused on Israel all the time as many posters seem to assume. I am sure there are plenty of things about other nations you don't know

And let’s not forget that UNWRA employed terrorists, UN ‘peacekeepers’ have been in south Lebanon for years and it took UN Women 2 months to condemn the violence against women on 7th Oct. The UN is so biased. It’ll be interesting to see what happens to it post US election.

Absolutely there are but I wouldn't then come on to threads specifically about that country - and at the UN as well - and make authoritative statements on the topic.
