Conrgats to Israelis for seeing 4 hostages freed; condolences to them for the 3 others the IDF killed in the process; better ratio than previous ops

condolences to the innocnet Palestinains caught in the crossfire and bombed by the IDF

IDF killed more people in this operation than the US did in the Black Hawk Down battle

more kids too

Weemammy21 · 11/06/2024 19:13

A rescue of 4 people that resulted in the death of 374 innocent civilians with the vast majority being women and children. No lifebuoy or other explanation needed when everyone in the international community can see for themselves what Israel is doing.

noblegiraffe · 11/06/2024 19:02

If everyone agrees that Hamas are really awful and should be arrested for war crimes, why do people keep uncritically repeating their propaganda?

I haven't seen anyone repeating terrorist propaganda. That would be deleted by mumsnet surely?

DownNative · 11/06/2024 19:15

SocoBateVira · 11/06/2024 19:08

Useful idiocy, often very well meaning.

That will account for some people, but not for others. Likely to be a mix of reasons for different individuals which may well include support for Hamas and they can't express that publicly. Otherwise known as sneaking regarders.

HelenHen · 11/06/2024 19:16

SocoBateVira · 11/06/2024 19:07

That still wouldn't explain why she brought up the ICC on a thread about a rescue they've made no comment on, though. The issue is the relevance. If you're going to try and throw her a lifebuoy, you'll need to address that.

I don't NEED to address anything. I addressed the obvious question that was in front of me. I don't know who has posted what else though, or when. I don't track these things!

Both overt and covert (sneaking regarder behaviour) get deleted if/when flagged.

But it does happen, so some have tried to better disguise it.

Oh I thought the 374 in your previous post was a typo but it seems like you're going with it.

Let's just throw higher and higher numbers out there.

Second time you've posted that you believe every single person that died was am innocent civilian. The first was within am Antisemitic rant that MN rightly deleted.

So, not ONE Hamas terrorist was killed? Not one civilian engaging in hostilities killed?

It's unrealistic to think that only uninvolved Civilians died that day.

Unrealistic.

Any time anyone has posted anything along the lines of 'Israel has murdered 274 civilians in their hostage operation', that is repeating Hamas propaganda.

It's a Hamas figure, where every single person killed was a civilian, no terrorists, and was killed by Israel, not Hamas. Despite a huge battle, Hamas only killed one person and that was an Israeli soldier. Propaganda, uncritically repeated.

With Hamas firing machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades in a busy area, it's not logical, realistic or feasible to think Hamas didn't kill uninvolved Civilians!

Anyone who thinks otherwise has clearly fallen for terrorist propaganda and isn't thinking critically. Its a strictly emotional response which is exactly what terrorists want. People can become so emotional to the point they can't think straight.

It's a well known and understood part of human being behaviour.

@DownNative
You might find this analysis of the numbers useful. Out of the 96 names released by Hamas 67% are male.

This 💯 % over and over and over again.

Hamas has been extremely reckless with Palestinian and Israeli lives. The IDF has certainly been reckless with Palestinian lives, and I’d argue their actions and inactions have put Israeli lives at risk and will continue to do so in the future.

You can’t kill an ideology, unless the aim is to completely ethically cleanse the area of Palestinians?

Ideologies can be discredited and left in tatters to the point where they're no threat anymore.

E.g., Nazism, Physical Force Provo Republicanism, Japanese Kamikaze ideologies are all discredited and no threat today.

Interesting.

noblegiraffe · 11/06/2024 19:35

And this Hamas analysis of the 274 to be all civilian, all killed by Israel, vast majority women and children is repeated in the claims also posted on this thread of 34,000 (or 40,000, both claimed) killed by Israel in Gaza.

Hamas propaganda.

Why did you leave out the three words at the end of the sentence? It changes the whole meaning. And if you're not going to track, you're going to get into a mess taking it on yourself to explain what someone else meant in the middle of their discussion.

Yes, the gullibility there is just off the charts.

Hamas casualty figures are propaganda, they get parroted on here all the time and they stay up.

LordPercyPercy · 11/06/2024 19:42

And if you question the figures you're heartless and don't care about women and children. You're then inevitably asked how you can sleep at night.

Completely different military operations!

The mission that's best known now as Black Hawk down was a mission to capture Mohamed Farrah Aidid Omar Salad Elmi and Abdi Hassan Awale Qeybdiid.

The Israel Defence Force mission Operation Summer Seeds aka Arnon was a hostage rescue mission. Four hostages.

Can't be be compared reasonably. There are various military hostage rescue missions that can be compared, including SAS ones.

Hamas propaganda.

When the UN halved the number of women and children about a month ago, they kept the overall number of 34,000. However, 10,000 of these are not confirmed deaths as they don’t have the bodies to identify.
The numbers are quoted as fact and should be called into question.

Yes, I would agree that it's possible that Hamas killed innocent civilians during the rescue, likely even. But there's no doubt the majority were killed by IDF. That's the difference. I'm not disputing hamas do bad things, but you cannot accept that IDF also do bad things.. ?

Calling people idiots for having a different opinion to yours is goady/trolling and not deserving of a reply.
