@Offwiththecircus I have provided pictures of placards being carried each March.
You are entitled to your opinion as are you. I have provided evidence though.
And sorted the thread title.

The original thread quite clearly wasn't actually meant as a question. There are several such threads around. Of course the thread is now headed by a statement.
A statement which many would dispute if they have actually encountered the marches either as a participant or bystander/observer.
One might of course ponder how close mr littlejohn has been to the marches he pontificates on.

Quite amazing that you can read the mind of the OP of the previous thread.

Am not aware that anyone has said the pics you have posted are not real. Some characters were of course found guilty the other day. This doesn't though demonstrate that "the only purpose us ----" in a massively large gathering.
Otherwise i anticipate socmedia outrage focussed on
Luton town football club
The c of e
The national trust
The countryside alliance
The national tiddlywinks forum
Etc etc
Because of a small number of dodgy followers.

Shut em all down?
In view of the tiny number of offences on the marches they may well be the safest place to spend a saturday for anyone of whatever persuasion. Probably more chance of intimidation at a Waitrose check-out.

stomachamelon · 14/02/2024 13:04

@Offwiththecircus sorry I just don't agree with that and is an attempt at trying to tell people how to think and feel.

That was his opinion.
You have yours.
I have mine.

stomachamelon · 14/02/2024 13:10

And I can't wait for the placard bearers that will appear Saturday and are challenged by Mumsnetters saying 'not in my name'.

As we have been told.

Big ole list of what depth of humanity you have indeed plunged to.
Asked for you to go/ remove yourself from thread/ your opinion not welcome.

On a thread they don't have to engage with. Weird that?

So would it be OK if I started a thread with the title 'all Jews support the actions of the IDF in Gaza' that would be fine would it? I could even add 'discuss' at the end. I would never start a thread with this title though because, I know it's not true for one and I know it would open the door to voicing hate against people. And yet you think it's OK to characterised marchers that the ONLY reason they are there is to intimate Jews. You knew what you were doing, stir up a bit of hate. Unless of course you actually do believe that everyone on the marches is there to intimate Jews. And that all. They don't care about all the children being killed, only intimating Jews.

stomachamelon · 14/02/2024 15:40

@Kendodd I neither wrote that article nor started the thread. But ta.
I also emailed Mumsnet to sort the title out and make sure people are aware it's a quote.
Is there anything else you need?

I think you mean intimidate. Intimate = very different connotation.

EllaDisenchanted · 14/02/2024 15:50

@Kendodd why are you so determined to make this thread into a fight? You made the same points on this thread in mid jan about the title. the original thread was made to discuss the article in the title, not to wholesale agree with every point.
It evolved into a broader conversation documenting antisemitism seen at the marches.
i really don’t think your comments to stomach are fair.

EllaDisenchanted · 14/02/2024 15:58

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-12878659/amp/RICHARD-LITTLEJOHN-marches-intimidate-British-Jews-tolerate-hatred-streets.html

this is the original article. If you strongly disagree with it, which is a perfectly reasonable position to take, then you are welcome to engage with the original discussion and explain why on here. Tarring everyone here with one brush as only coming on here only to stir up hate against the marches doesn’t help open up dialogue, you’re just shutting everyone down. If you are pro peace, then come and engage respectfully. People may not change their opinions, but you’ll be a lot further forward in building relationships (aka steps to peace).

The only purpose of these marches is to intimidate British Jews

RICHARD LITTLEJOHN: Let's stop pretending these 'peace rallies' are all about Israel and call them out for what they really are: unashamed Jew-hatred, pure and simple.

Kendodd · 14/02/2024 16:06

Sorry, auto correct.

EllaDisenchanted · 14/02/2024 16:09

On a different thread one poster (I can’t remember who, maybe scirocco or parkingt111 ?) pointed out that use of a particular spelling of Muslim was offensive. There was a respectful discussion, and you know what, I learned something. It was not something I was aware of, but now I am. Had posters descended to name calling and aggression I would have left the thread and not had my eyes opened.

What are you trying to suggest here?

stomachamelon · 14/02/2024 20:25

@Scirocco lots of posters have said on here they would challenge antisemitism and aggressive behaviour doesn't exist at these marches 'safer than Waitrose'
And if you did spot Joe Public saying things they shouldn't they would pull them to one side, educate them or failing that tell the police.
Given that these placards have appeared at every March in London then it will be interesting to see what happens.
I love the fact Mumsnetters would be supportive
I am just doubtful. I don't know what you think?

Well, as I've already said, I do challenge it and do exactly what you've said about talking with people or alerting the police. As do the other people organising things for our local events.

There have been very few public order or other arrests or other interventions needed where we are. Far fewer than on other marches/protests that take place in our city for different causes.

stomachamelon · 14/02/2024 20:43

@Scirocco are you not in London then?

Thank you for your support.

Scirocco · 14/02/2024 20:54

No, I'm not in London.

More info about the women convicted of having paraglider's on their clothes and judges bias.

SomeCatFromJapan · 14/02/2024 23:22

The judge was not exactly impartial in this, was he?

stomachamelon · 15/02/2024 14:02

I have read that not only is one of the women a refugee but also fled from Palestine as her family dissented against Hamas.
Interesting that she would chose to support them in that sense.
I heard an appeal against too lenient sentencing has gone in.

Well hopefully her asylum claim is unnecessary now. After all, she will have proven her devotion to Hamas by being convicted in the UK of supporting them. She should be safe from them now and able to return. I suppose she can, correctly, argue she wouldn't be save from the Israelis bombing though.

no one said there wasn't any aggression/dodgy signs around - point was a tiny tiny tiny percentage of a very large gathering. Same point with regard to waitrose - get such a large large group of folk together at any event and there is likely to be more illegal behaviour. So the marches could well be the safest places to be for those of a delicate persuasion. There is of course a march tomorrow (17th) and no doubt crimes of various sorts will be taking place elsewhere in various bits of London and indeed across the country. Business as usual for the criminally inclined. And in view of the size of the crowd it is very probable that mnetters on the march will see nothing of concern anyway - unless you are advocating some drone equipped mnetter shock force zapping to and fro amidst the march.
I am planning to be there and will keep an eye out.
