Israel is at war with Gaza. However , this has dragged other countries in the area as well.
weve heard about the problems in West Bank (there is a thread) but also Lebanon where civilians have been killed and journalists have been targeted and killed

they’ve also attacked several airports in Siria.

ive read in the past there was a conflict as well with Yemen and read now this” Yemen's Houthis warn they will target all ships headed to Israel”

it doesn’t sound that post this war living in Israel is going to be safer than before

Yemen's Houthis warn they will target all ships headed to Israel

Yemen's Houthi movement said on Saturday they would target all ships heading to Israel, regardless of their nationality, and warned all international shipping companies against dealing with Israeli ports.

And the nearby civilian areas of Kiryat Yam. Pretty threatening .

It must be extremely worrying, I am sorry.
Even from the U.K. it feels as though the world is very dangerous.

I’ve opened a thread for Lebanon - Israel as it seems the war is quite imminent. Hopefully I’m wrong.

Hezbollah are spoiling to attack. Raving maniacs.

I saw somewhere (I don't remember where and no time to hunt a source right now), that the Taliban were threatening to join with Hezbollah.

They're all completely mad intent on killing mainly Jewish people and anyone who gets in their way for their version or interpretation of radical Islam.

Interesting, I just had a minute and looked now, because I thought it was odd I hadn't seen anything since, and there's nothing on MSM at all. I think very likely untrue. Times of India report said that most people saying this are quoting a social media account called Taliban Public Relations Department, which is not a verified authentic account.

There were articles in the press in the region, a Hezbollah associated paper in Lebanon printed something, though it was denied by Hezbollah as they have 100'000 fighters on standby.

It trended on Twitter partly because a lot of people were mentioning the billions of dollars in weapons Biden left behind during his disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.
https://x.com/KimDotcom/status/1804622093960741173

It's also interesting as Hezbollah and the Taliban do not traditionally get along and have supported different sides during the Syrian conflict.

That said, the Taliban are just one of many different factions in the region willing to put aside their differences in order to hit America/Israel as payback for the destruction caused by the War on terror and the ongoing situation in Gaza.

Thanks Belle, that makes sense.

Absolutely no problem Ella ❤, I've listened so much about military movements and weapons in the region, that my Dad jokes that I tell him the news 24 hours before the news channels.

There has just been another alleged assassination attempt in Lebanon,

Payback?

Interesting the different terms used when different terrorist organisations come together to murder, kidnap and rape.

Let's face it hamas, Hezbollah, The Taleban, Al Quieda, and all the other murdering scum whatever their latest terrorist organisation calls themselves don't give a shitty shit about their own people either but uniting together to get 'payback'... just wow.

About 20,000 Israelis marched on Tel Aviv this July to protest the government’s planned changes to to judicial system. The opposition to the changes was quite a big international news story. Can you provide some backing for your statement that Israelis are afraid to speak out against their government?

You write that the Israeli government is to blame for increased antisemitism around the world. Did you mean to make such a breathtakingly antisemitic statement, or is it that you are a lot more ignorant about history, geography and politics than you pretend? Or perhaps both?

Vast understatement. The 2023 protests against the government were the largest protests in Israeli history, and a July 2023 survey suggested that two million Israelis had taken part in at least one of the protests - one in five of the population, including hundreds of thousands on individual nights. I can't think of another country where citizens are more inclined to protest the government ;)

On another topic though: for those watching the conflict with Hezbollah: this morning has seen the most intense attacks by Hezbollah so far on northern Israel with hundreds of rockets and UAVs all over the northern border and Golan Heights and all the way down to Acre. The news is reporting that there have been direct hits, though it's not clear on what. The fighting has also caused wildfires to break out in 10 locations (source: Ynet in Hebrew).

The attack is believed to be in retaliation for an Israeli strike that killed one of Hezbollah's senior commanders earlier this week.

Reformist Masoud Pezeshkian wins Iran presidential election

I can’t claim to have a great deal of knowledge about his views, or how this might change things, but it seems like this could well be good news for the people of Iran, and with reference to this thread, relationships between other countries.

When Israel is surrounded ny countries with terrorist organisations that hate Jewish people no wonder they sound so much on defending themselves.

If Israel didn't engage in apartheid, ethnic cleansing, or genocide, they would probably have more friends in the world.

Naturally you blame terrorist actions on Israel. The wars that other countries started against them also Israels fault. No accountability for the scum terrorists. So many apologists for murdering, raping scumbags.
