Israel is at war with Gaza. However , this has dragged other countries in the area as well.
weve heard about the problems in West Bank (there is a thread) but also Lebanon where civilians have been killed and journalists have been targeted and killed

they’ve also attacked several airports in Siria.

ive read in the past there was a conflict as well with Yemen and read now this” Yemen's Houthis warn they will target all ships headed to Israel”

it doesn’t sound that post this war living in Israel is going to be safer than before

Yemen's Houthis warn they will target all ships headed to Israel

Yemen's Houthi movement said on Saturday they would target all ships heading to Israel, regardless of their nationality, and warned all international shipping companies against dealing with Israeli ports.

Yesterdays victim was Indian, not Thai: Pat Nibin Maxwell, 31 (image below), he leaves behind a 5 year old daughter and heavily pregnant wife 💔

Today: Stabbing attack today, committed by a 16 year old, at the yitzhar junction. Victim in serious condition.

Hezbollah fired a large barrage yesterday, causing power outages up north.

4 terrorists arrested in the West Bank, who were preparing an ISIS style attack, and had manufactured 100 bombs https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/shin-bet-arrests-islamic-state-inspired-west-bank-cell-that-manufactured-100-explosive-devices/

The terrorist attacks continue showing that they don't want peace orca ceasefire. A neutral government needs to run Gaza. Hamas are no good for Gaza.

stomachamelon · 15/03/2024 19:36

Thank you for going over that again to make it clear exactly what you think.

Large barrage of rockets up North, Lebanese TV reporting 50 rockets were fired at Israel. https://www.jpost.com/breaking-news/article-793752

Seems to be again escalating, as there were barrages on Shabbat as well. https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/387247

There were sirens down south, from North Gaza the other day.

Rockets pound north after IDF hits northeastern Lebanon in deepest strikes yet

No casualties were reported and the event did not obstruct operational activities, the IDF noted.

initial reports of a terror attack shooting at a bus and two passing vehicles this morning, 3 injured, two seriously, among them a 13 year old. Terrorist ran off, manhunt underway.

I'm getting reports that it was a school bus but not confirmed yet. Either way school starts at 8 am here in Israel, and would have been full of school children.

ill update when I have seen MSM Reports

EllaDisenchanted · 28/03/2024 06:55

Msm Now reporting it was a school bus

https://www.i24news.tv/en/news/middle-east/palestinian-territories/artc-initial-report-suggests-2-wounded-in-shooting-at-school-bus-in-west-bank

mada (Magen David Adom) reports that one in moderate to serious condition (30 year old male), and a 21 year old and 13 year old in mild condition.

terrorist not yet apprehended. Have seen reports that the bus was bulletproof, possibly explains why only 3 injured

3 wounded, 1 in serious condition in shooting at school bus, vehicles in West Bank - I24NEWS

The terrorist attack occurred on Route 90 adjacent to the town of Al-Auja, manhunt is ongoing - Click the link for more.

Much clearer now: two armoured school buses were shot at, no injuries. Two cars shot at, and that is where the two adults and the boy were injured. Terrorist remains at large.

@EllaDisenchanted thank you for continuing to post so we know the situation in Israel.

“We must defeat the enemy while deepening our roots in the land of our forefathers. Precisely now is the time to apply sovereignty to the Jordan Valley, an area whose importance is not disputed in Israeli society,” said Israeli lawmaker Dan Illouz, a member of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.
13 yo boy had minor injuries from glass shards.
Why are parents bringing their children to live in Illegal settlements when this type track is the likely consequence?

stormy4319trevor · 29/03/2024 11:34

@kindatired I suppose many people are armed in the West Bank and allowed to carry firearms, they also have the army and the settlements look well defended. More difficult to have complete control of the roads and land around them maybe? I think people must feel they are well protected, and injury to their children is unlikely, or they wouldn't bring their children to live there. Maybe someone more familiar with the area would understand better.

Why are you blaming the parents and not the bastards who shot at a school bus?

stormy4319trevor · 29/03/2024 13:24

@OpalOP I don't think that was the point, since harming children is clearly wrong. Many children have been harmed in this conflict, even though they have nothing to do with it and did not choose to be born there. It's reasonable to wonder if families move to this area because, on the whole, they think it's safe for their children. That seems the most logical explanation, though possibly you know more about the area and could clarify.

Meanwhile another sister was looked after and given life saving treatment after giving birth to a premature baby in Israel last month.

https://m.jpost.com/israel-hamas-war/article-785314

and NO before anyone jumps on me, I am not, Gd forbid, saying the hospital should have given her and the baby anything but excellent care. But the juxtaposition of the treatment of the hostages, who have not even received the medication that was promised in a deal, being kept in unspeakable conditions, undergoing torture and rape, under Haniyeh’s auspices, with the care given to his sister in Israel, is stark.

Sister of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh treated in Israeli hospital

Haniyeh's sisters live in Tel Sheva, and one of them gave birth to a premature baby in the last few days, receiving life-saving treatment from the medical team.

@EllaDisenchanted I didn't realise so many of his family had served in the IDF.

EllaDisenchanted · 01/04/2024 18:15

@stomachamelon thats interesting, I didn’t know that. As a Bedouin they wouldn’t be conscripted as well, so would be by choice.

With the Iranian consulate bombed, allegedly by Israel, it appears Israel is in more danger.

Israel: GPS disabled and IDF leave cancelled over Iran threat - BBC News

Israel MSM reporting it was the building next door to the consulate that was struck. But yeah, tensions are up. We got warning about the GPS.
