Shattered healthcare and sanitation systems must be restored in Gaza, says World Health Organization.

UN official Tor Wennesland warned the humanitarian situation “remains catastrophic”.

Israeli bombardment has killed more than 14,800 Palestinians, including 6,150 children and more than 4,000 women, according to health authorities in the enclave.

More than nothing would be a start!
It's ok, murder 1,500 people, kidnap 240 more and nothing will be done to punish those murderers? Don't be so stupid!!

Hamas didn't murder 1500 people, what Hamas did was awful enough there is no need to exaggerate it. Starving 2.2million people is not 'punishing' Hamas, it is punishing the 2.2million people. That's why it is called 'collective punishment' and is a war crime.

You can't exaggerate 'awful'. Awful, awful is how you describe what Hamas did!

@eardefender Please don't put words into my mouth.

I'll trust the opinion of the WHO, UN, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, the Hague and other respected organisations on what is required as to "investigations" into either side.

On other words, selling to you would be like taking candy from a baby.

Then where are the Arabic countries to offer Palestinians a safe refuge?

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 09/12/2023 21:49

The nasty thing is that some supporters of Israel are roving threads and even trying to shut them down, refusing to hear anything which isn't about the Israeli hostages. That was obviously outrageous. But the tragedy isn't only about you. Stop being so pitiless.

Their safe refuge should be their homes but Israel has taken
that away from them.
Their homes with their furniture, their pot plants, their photographs , their memories. Destroyed by Israel. Israel has targeted residential properties to try and turn the civilian population against Hamas.

I think what Israel is currently doing in Gaza is despicable. What’s more, I don’t believe Netenyahu didn’t know the Hamas attack was coming. I think the man is so vile and corrupt that he willingly sacrificed Israeli citizens as an excuse to then destroy Gaza. I think he is an evil, genocidal human being. Hamas being a terrorist organisation that would happily itself commit genocide does not take away from the fact Israel is committing genocide in Gaza, imvho.

No!

You do not get to claim "ethnic cleansing" as the "humanitarian" solution!

This is vile fucking shit!

Palestinians, Gazawi, do not need "safe refuge" in places where they are not at home, where they will be refugees! They need to be safe in their own homes, and they, along with Palestinians in the West Bank, need the brutal, murderous occupation to end and for the Palestinian people to have the same right to self-determination that we regard as self-evidently legitimate for everyone else!

No! You do not get to pretend you are a "concerned humanitarian" while you actually advocate for ethnic cleansing!

It's not about being "pro Pals, is it? Grow up. It's about being against the murder of getting on for 20k innocent Palestinians.

Walkaround · 09/12/2023 22:30

The Israeli army is murdering babies and children in vast numbers.

The op titled the thread that disease could kill Gazans but it looks like now it's starvation. This is absolutely disgusting I cannot believe in 2023 we are sitting back and watching a population get bombed and starved to death. Shame on you Israel and your lapdogs the US and the UK.

Walkaround · 09/12/2023 23:23

The US has shown itself to be spineless and morally corrupt by supporting the murderous behaviour of a country led by an extremist every bit as monstrous as Hamas who is clearly intent on the destruction of Palestinians and any notion of a Palestinian state.

twilightmoon3 · 09/12/2023 23:34

I'm on the right side. I despise ME terrorists. If you don't, maybe you need to shift seats.

Do you despise the IDF terrorising the children of Gaza as well ? If they are guilty of killing thousands and thousands of innocent civilians they are the terrorists too, don’t you think ?

Livinginanotherworld · 10/12/2023 00:00

Applesauce123 · 09/12/2023 21:16

Then where are the Arabic countries to offer Palestinians a safe refuge?

They don’t want safe refuge in another country, they want Israel to stop bombing their homeland so they can be safe there. The Arabic countries know that, they would always stay, if they leave Israel will steal their land and they will never be allowed back. Ethnic cleansing basically.

So you are saying "Why can't Israel get on with the genocide in peace?"

Please take your smear campaign elsewhere. We see through it.

We trust and respect the human rights organisations and even more for speaking up. The only reason Israeli govt wants to smear them is they are showing up the atrocious war crimes for what they are.

Applesauce123 · 10/12/2023 08:35

Exactly what was done on Oct 7th.

If yes, you are every bit as evil as Hamas.

FFS Applesauce

We are here to talk about the ongoing massacre of innocent Palestinian people and the fact that disease and malnutrition will likely kill as many if not more.

Stop trying to derail the thread, you are working very hard and maybe it's time to give this one a rest.

What are you talking about? No one wants anyone dead where did you see that?

Of course Jews outside Israel need to feel safe but that is in the control of their nations governments and police forces to ensure they are and to call out and deal with any antisemitism. As 1234Kitty has pointed out this is not what this thread is about so please stop derailing it. Posters on here are extremely concerned and upset about the death and suffering and genocide currently happening in Palestine.

SwishSwashSwooshSwersh · 10/12/2023 09:44

hamas horrifically killed 1200 people and took 200 hostage.

Israel taking thousands of hostages and horrifically killing 18000 people in retaliation is not proportionate and will not rid the country of Hamas. Now Israel is constructing a humanitarian disaster which will kill many more innocent families. The young children who survive Israel’s bombs, starvation, illness, trauma will be so deeply effected. Israel is breading hate globally and within Gaza. And as for Biden, he and the USA are complicit in killing innocent Palestinian. It’s unbelievable that millions of pounds worth of weapons have been sold to Israel.

Rather than killing so many innocent people, Israel could have worked out how the boarders were broken and planned to prevent a future Hamas breakthrough (better boarder controls?). They should have negotiated hostage swaps, blocked tunnels, worked in a targeted manner. Importantly they should have considered why the attack was carried out (100 years of suppression?) and put an end to land grabbing and other emotive injustices.
