so, immediately after the Oct 7th massacre? I'm afraid that totally proves my case.

So you didn't know this conflict has been going on years? You actually thought it started on Oct 7th?

Oh come off it! We all know that October 7th took everything to a whole new level of horror and brought terror to both communities. It wasn’t an inevitable / natural or even understandable consequence which is what your post suggests.

That may be so but the previous poster is suggesting this whole conflict started on Oct 7th which of course we all know it didn't

You can think what you like, but Oct 7th was a whole new level. And the c**ts at the Celtic game celebrated it.
Without even pausing for breath.
So, yes, seeing anyone sporting the Palestinian flag is an easy way to spot the idiot.

Thankfully many many of us think differently and are proud to display the Palestinian flag but you do you

Unbelievable, so you think the appropriate response to a massacre is to do that, immediately, without stopping for a while?

Read my post above, many many football clubs display Palestinian flags in support of the Palestian population, if you have a problem with that you don't attend those matches, simples

BaMamma · 11/02/2025 22:09

So what?

The majority of people used to believe that the earth was flat; didn't make them right, did it?

This lot https://nitter.poast.org/againstwarvoice

Their avatar is bloodied red hands - you know that symbolises the blood of the Israelis who strayed into Ramallah at the wrong time and were torn apart by a baying mob?

Sorry, I'll try again.
Don't you think it would have been a good (moral) thing to do to just press the pause button on this, after the massacre.

stomachamaleon · 12/02/2025 08:12

@user243245346 Iran? The list is endless. Thing is though doesn't really involve any Jews so...... maybe not Confused

I just wanted to state for the record- because I feel like this message gets lost in all the tension and high energy around this atrocity: this is a show of solidarity with occupied people everywhere for whom Palestine has become a global symbol of the oppressed and of occupation. A symbol of the defencelessness of an inconvenient civilians population against a modern military acting behalf of a questionable democracy. The abuse of absolute power in the pursuit of wealth at the expense of our collective peace and love for all humanity. "

I completely agree that for many on the left this conflict is a strong example or symbol of the oppressed and the oppressor, the Marxist concept of the bourgeois and the proletariat or a poorer Gaza against a wealthy Israel or the imbalance in power between a poor civilian population suffering in a war against a modern military.

Who started what first or did what or who is to blame is much less important to those on the left than sympathy and support for the weaker or oppressed side against a stronger or oppressive side.

What a shockingly ignorant statement to make.

You seem to be saying that whatever atrocity Hamas committed against innocent Israelis you would always unequivocally support Palestinians.

You don’t think the Bibas family deserves “sympathy and support “ because they are Israelis and therefore from the “stronger or oppressive side” ?

OpheliaWasntMad · 16/02/2025 16:22

Perhaps I have misunderstood your post @1dayatatime ? Maybe it was a criticism of a flawed and simplistic way of interpreting all conflict through a Marxist lens .

Scirocco · 16/02/2025 16:50

@OpheliaWasntMad I think you've misunderstood the other poster.
